I can't speak highly enough about Marlene. She checked in on us and went above and beyond in her support of us, down to helping us get our coffee just the way we liked it. Much appreciation for her and the experience she provided, always with a smile.

This is a very busy Residence Inn (so first, I'd try the Marriott Vacation Club Cypress Harbor or another one; they are nearby and less expensive). Breakfast lines do back up. The front desk told us that the next week (Christmas week) the hotel was overbooked... I won't name the number we were told, but it was a LARGE number). That should never be allowed to happen...a few rooms, OK, but who wants to tell a number of people that large that they will arrive without rooms Christmas week? I don't even mean a few dozen. That written, it does seem to be clean and well-kept. Check-in was smooth, and the suite was fine. I could have wished for a bed that was a tad softer, but that is usually the case with me. The hotel was reasonably quiet, even with 5 kids across the hall from us, and all the comings and goings. Please note that there is no evening reception. Upon going to the lobby, we were simply told that this hotel doesn't do it. Ordered food from the pool area/bar area. It wasn't busy and the food was good, pretty standard. The Mickey Mouse waffle irons at breakfast are a nice touch, and I liked the availability of grits (an international traveler kept asking me what grits are, and I did try to explain). The staff was doing a good job at trying to keep up with the very large breakfast rush. There was even someone doing balloon animals for children. Read less

The hotel is well kept. The grounds are well maintained and clean. The breakfest offers a lot of options but taste-wise is very standard quality, nothing to write home about. The rooms are spacious, clean and offer a kitchen area, which is a great plus. The bed and the pillows are way too soft (in my opinion) and could be much better. The linen… Read more

The rooms are spacious, clean and offer a kitchen area, which is a great plus. The bed and the pillows are way too soft (in my opinion) and could be much better. The linen used on the bed is great, like most Marriot hotels. This hotel is certainly a good option for families on longer stays. However, there was a problem, who several other guests also noticed on previous reviews. This hotel has a very rude policy of not respecting your "do not disturb" request for privacy. We left the sign outside the door, yet the cleaning crew came in and cleaned anyway. Why? Because the hotel tells them to. This hotel could not care less about your request for privacy. This has NEVER happened before in ANY of my previous stays in Marriott hotels, in more than 25 years using Marriott hotels. It's inexcusable. There's nothing any manager can tell me that will make it OK. Crazy hotel policy that should not exist, period. Read less

I stay at a lot of different Marriott brand hotels, and I often have experienced beds that were waaaaayyy too soft. This Residence Inn had the best bed because it was firm but not hard. Besides the fact that I was able to sleep well in the bed, everything else was just ok. The doors are too thin, so I can hear every single noise in the hall. The… Read more

Besides the fact that I was able to sleep well in the bed, everything else was just ok. The doors are too thin, so I can hear every single noise in the hall. The hotel is huge, so there are a LOT of people at breakfast, but the management has figured out how to feed the masses there. I say that as a compliment and a complaint. Even though the food was similar to what most Residence Inn's offer, it seemed like this location was feeding us (cheap) cafeteria style instead of a nice breakfast. However that said, they have a great setup to get a lot of people through in a somewhat efficient way. The employees at breakfast and the front desk were all very nice and super friendly! I might stay here again just for the bed though. :) Read less
