Sam(Samantha) at the pool, always smiling, remembering my name always and always working so hard like her coworkers. She even set up my spot by the pool , saving it for me, not knowing if I was even going to be at the pool. That is going above and beyond! Mariano(sp) gift shop, very kind and always smiling. I would recommend this place to families, love birds, businesses et all! But only if you want outstanding service, great food, and complete relaxation! I guess the best way to sum it up is they treat you like family or in some cases better than family! 😊 Read less

My family decided to escape to the Ritz-Carlton last week when Hurricane Dorian was threatening the east coast of Florida. Our planned 3 night stay turned into a 5 night stay because of the slow moving, unpredictable hurricane. Nonetheless, my wife and I and our 2 kids (ages 5 and 1) had a fantastic time. Valet and check-in was smooth. I had booked a 1 bedroom executive suite, and we were pleasantly surprised to get the exact same room that we had stayed in during our last visit (room 632). Room: Our room was great. There is decent space with a large master bathroom and a convenient second bathroom by the entryway. We comfortable alternated putting the crib in the bedroom and in the living room. Everything was very clean. The toilet in the bathroom by the entryway had some issues flushing and one of the sinks in the master bathroom drained slowly. Otherwise, everything worked perfectly. A few times a year, the Ritz-Carlton has its own fireworks show on the property. We had a perfect vantage point for this show from our room during the labor day weekend! Food: After check-in, my wife and I decided to have dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Orlando - Norman's. When we showed up to the restaurant, we were told that it was the last night for the restaurant! We felt fortunate that we just happened to show up for the last night of the restaurant. And we felt even more fortunate that we were able to get a nice table in the restaurant due to the cancellations that had occurred due to the pending hurricane. We ultimately enjoyed a final, but somewhat depressing, meal at Norman's. We met a few other clients at the restaurant that night who felt the same way we did - happy to be there but sad to see it go. Although the restaurant is relocating to an area close by (just a few miles away), my wife and I will truly miss seeing Norman's in this space at the Ritz. We also enjoyed many meals at Highball and Harvest. We had great service from Alex and Lenny. If you don't mind a 10 minute walk, I highly recommend the Kitchen at the JW hotel. My wife and I had a couple of tasty dinners at this "farm to table" restaurant. I couldn't resist ordering the Grilled cheese sandwich everytime. Ask for Britney as a server or dine with Lestor at the bar. They are both great. We ate food at the pool multiple times and ordered room service for our kids everynight, and everything was delicious and consistent. My wife and I worked out at the hotel athletic facility a couple times too. It is clean, comfortable, and really top notch. Hurricane Dorian: So there were two days where practically everything in Central Florida was essentially shut down while the hurricane was passing by. The RItz and JW were essentially operating with a skeleton crew. My wife and I appreciated being told what kind of service to expect. We honestly didn't expect much and were pleasantly surprised with the services/food options that were still available. Ultimately, we had a great stay at the Ritz during hurricane Dorian. I'm pretty sure this while be our spot for the next hurricane. Many thanks to Matt and Abigaile (sp?) at the front desk who helped us immensely during our stay. We will be back. Read less

We have not been to the Ritz in Orlando for years... we have tried the Four Seasons which is newer and typically rent a house for more recently when visiting Disney wit our daughter. On our recent trip we passed through Orlando from Miami to avoid the hurricane for a night on our way to Atlanta. Let me tell you that the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes is in fact the best service across the board we have ever received from any hotel and we have stayed everywhere! The bellmen were wonderful and attentive. The check in process fantastic! They offered us champagne and were so kind and had so much energy! The pool staff was absolutely spot on! So attentive and went out of there to accommodate our family. The new lobby is perfect with a ton of food options and amenities! The only thing I would like to see them do in the near future is update the room since they are a little tired especially he bathrooms. However we still very much enjoyed our room. We have stayed at the Four Seasons in Orlando for over a week a couple of years ago and the level of service comparing the Ritz and Four Season is no comparison! The Four Seasons is so so so stuffy, quiet, dull and boring. The Ritz and it’s staff have so much energy and are so attentive we absolutely loved our stay and will be back soon for a longer stay!
