We had both good and not so good here. The place is older so some things are outdated and need repaired. Tub dripped 24/7, counters were chipped and carpets were almost like indoor/outdoor so not very attractive. Had tiny ants and one day they were so bad I went up to the office and got something to put down to help get rid of them. They never did come spray for them while we were there. The toilet seat was the cheapest you can get at Walmart and slid around while you were using the toilet. It was clean but not REAL clean like you'd expect from a resort at this cost. Some units had a washer/dryer and some don't. Not many kitchen utensils and NO bakeware at all. Pools were rotated when one got murkey looking the other one would be opened. Then they'd switch. The lake has a lot of algae in it so it's not really that attractive. The peacocks were everywhere so that was a plus. However, when they'd poop near the pool area it was up to rain or kids (and adults) who stepped in it to clear it away. The gal at the front desk however was one of the nicest I've met anywhere. Overall, I'd stay again if there wasn't anyplace else that was available for the price. The shuttle service left us stranded at Universal Studios the first day so we paid parking so it wouldn't happen again. They did pay us back the taxi fee for the trip back that night but it was 1 1/2 hrs of waiting for them to decide what to do before we got the taxi. Walmart and other stores and restaurants are very close by so it's really conveniently located. Universal is only about 20 to 30 mins away depending on traffic. The bed was older and mattress is close to needing to be replaced. The remotes changed channels but wouldn't turn on or off the tv so when watching before bed you had to get out of bed to turn them off. Air conditioner worked very well and we were on 2nd floor where it's the hottest. The game room didn't have a lot of choices and the a/c didn't work in there at all so it was very hot. The playground had enough to keep our 5 yr old busy when not at the pool. Again, overall it was a nice vacation and those inconveniences would not stop me from returning. Read less

I travel. A lot. Like 320/365 days a year lot. This is the WORST place I have ever stayed... and that includes a Knights Inn. Seriously. A dead lizard stayed in our bathroom for 4 DAYS. Housekeeping is a joke - Andrew Dice Clay style. Nastiest, smelliest place. First room. A/C unit was frozen solid and it was 86 degrees in there at 11pm. They… Read more

Housekeeping is a joke - Andrew Dice Clay style. Nastiest, smelliest place. First room. A/C unit was frozen solid and it was 86 degrees in there at 11pm. They moved us. Second room you could hang meat in but was no cleaner. Furniture is dirty and worn. Carpet is sticky. Yes. I said sticky. The buildings are falling apart. The siding has rotted off (composite siding). Gutters are full and running over. Staff is rude. Housekeeping literally stood outside our unit for 45 min waiting for us to check out. Check out is at 10. I paid for this dump until 10 I plan on staying until 9:59:59. You can stand there huffing with your hand on your hip ALL DAY LONG. They didn’t replace towels but made the bed half of the days. I paid for the maid service. Good thing they got my $$ up front bec I would have been long gone that first night otherwise. Let me stress, I do not intimidate easily. I have stayed in some really squalid conditions during disaster situations because that is my job. But what they charge for this heap is criminal. It is not safe or healthy. DHEC should investigate seriously. Keep scrolling. Please do not spend money here. Read less
