My daughter & I stayed for 2 weeks very recently and really enjoyed it. We stayed at All Star Sports for a night before our Disney cruise and we’re very surprised to find that despite being value resorts, they were both of a really good quality. One thing I will say is that no one mentioned to us that there would be construction while we were there and we booked 12 months ago... nor was it mentioned on their website prior to departing so I was annoyed to discover this on arrival and had we known we would have chosen to stay at Sports. Fire alarms were regularly being tested in that area and we didn’t use the Calypso pool due to the constant noise and smells of fumes coming from the building site - it’s really unfair to not give guests notification of this prior to arrival so they can decide if it’s something they want to endure. It may be a value resort but coming from the U.K. and cruising and having a long holiday in Orlando cost me a small fortune and I expected more for my money than having to walk passed that 3 or 4 times a day. My daughter is really sensitive to loud sounds too so when a drill would randomly start or an alarm would sound, it would really upset her and she became anxious about walking passed constantly. I queued up twice at guest services to try and speak to someone about it but there’s just a constant stream of people and it felt like all I’d get is an excuse - Disney has a way of deflecting blame back onto the guest with expert precision I have to say. Apart from that, the communal areas are bright and clean, the rooms were perfectly functional and beds were very comfy. The thing that made the place was the staff - all members of the team we spoke to were friendly, especially the ladies and gents in the food hall. A special thank you to the allergy chefs who always made sure my little girl had something nice to eat after a day in the parks. Read less

Food was standard quick service food, nothing amazing but nothing terrible. It's a good first hotel if you've never stayed on Disney property before. The complementary Disney transportation was great and ran until late so no need to leave the parks early to get that last bus back to the hotel. The only negatives for me was the safe was very small and we struggled to fit everything valuable in it and the wall socket near my bed didn't feel safe, whenever I plugged my adapter in, it would hang half out of the socket which I didn't feel was safe but apart from that it was a good hotel with great staff and surprisingly close to Animal kingdom which was a great surprise. Stayed here from 30th of October to 9th of November 2019 and it was our first time. From check in to check out it was fantastic. At check in we were greeted by a lovely girl, who gave us our magic band and explained everything we needed to know. She then linked our MNSSHP tickets to our bands. We were then shown how to get cups. In the food court the staff were always welcoming and friendly. Very good choices of cold and hot drinks too. We only had lunch and dinner in the food court, but the food was good. The cakes were very good and if on the dining plan was good to have this with the entree. Our room was in the Broadway building on the ground floor. Room was basic but really nice, beds were very comfy we slept so well and need Disney beds at home now. The cleanliness in this hotel was to very high standards, all over the hotel and outside areas. We used the Disney buses to get to the parks, these get busy really quickly. But the drivers will radio for another if not everyone can get on. We also opted out of housekeeping and we received our gift card through email very quickly. We were able to ask for, fresh towels, bedding, toiletries and bins emptied whenever we wanted to. The shop here was good, and had more to offer than the parks for snack credits. Overall this was a fantastic first stay in what is classed as a value resort. Nothing about it seems value at all. We can't wait to return, and excited to see the results of the refurbishment. We stayed at the All Star Music Resort over the weekend. My daughter and her family are season passholders so we get the opportunity to visit Disney fairly often. Our family suite was in the Jazz section of the hotel. The grounds were well kept, although there is much construction happening as they are in the midst of renovation with workmen everywhere. We were not made aware of this construction prior to our visit. With that said, the renovation is much needed. The carpet, sofa and chair in the room were all dingy and worn out. It was clean and I expect no less from Disney. Also, the family suite was advertised that it would accommodate 6 people, which was not true. We would have really been in a bind if one of our family members hadn't cancelled at the last minute. The extra twin bed in the chair ottoman didn't exist in our suite. So we paid almost $318 plus taxes (nearly $400) per night for a suite for 5 people that clearly did not meet the standards we expected. On the upside the quick service restaurant was clean and not too crowded. As always, the personnel at the resort were very nice and accommodating. And, after the renovation it probably will be a great place to stay with new flooring and updated furnishings. But I would say wait until you can book an updated room/suite before staying here.
