The hotel

Stayed in unit 2916 and left bed everything about it. The views are amazing from way up there. My wife and I travel a lot so we kind of have the check in thing figured out. We actually never had issues with the elevators. Any place I have ever stayed that is bigger you will wait on elevators at check in and check out times. When sitting down at the beautiful beach several folks that we chatted with actually said these elevators were faster then other places they stayed. Bottom line is if you are getting there right at 4 then yes you will wait. Besides that I never really seen an issue and we were way up top. Kitchen appliances all worked fine — loved the 2 showers and the condo had a warm feel to it. The last 2 days the gulf was closed due to the tropical storm but we laid out on the beach all day with everyone else. The pools opened late one day but did open. They are constantly cleaning the place. It takes an army. I give this place a 5/5. Can they tweak things to make check in more streamlined. Yes. The being said every place I’ve visited in and out of the US needs tomorrow improve on that. We just unloaded what we needed and went to the room. Late on we unloaded everything else. Gotta be smart. Thanks tidewater for helping make our trip awesome. Again what views. What’s beach. Our unit also included chairs and an umbrella. Peace Read less

Checked in yesterday 7/11/19 and am absolutely disgusted and disappointed. There are so many things that are not acceptable. I immediately notified VACASA as the balcony was filthy with bird droppings, the unit was not thoroughly cleaned, a piece of large glass left in the master closet, dirty swifter in the kitchen closet which also doubles as the food pantry, remote not working in guest room. They told me someone would be by yo take care of. We received a call from the operations manager (Dawn)who said she would send someone out today to take care of. Needless to say after driving 14 hours I wasn’t in the mood to hear that after paying $3,700 to stay here. It is now 2:20 in the afternoon and I’m still waiting for the balcony to be cleaned. A maintenance man stopped by earlier to pick up the piece of glass and empty a dehumidifier that sets in the living room. He told me we need to empty it when it gets full or the a/c won’t work. I told him I have never had to do that in all the places I’ve stayed. He tells me this is Florida everyone has to do it. Wrong I’ve stayed in Florida many times. The operations manager told me the bird has been a problem all summer and nothing they can do about it. Who rents a gulf view and doesn’t enjoy the balcony? I find the staff at the resort to be rude. Today there are double flags meaning you can’t go into the ocean. Both pools at this resort are also closed and the staff doesn’t know when they will reopen. I am so disappointed. Families save all year to afford a vacation and then are supposed to settle for a poorly maintained condo at full price. I love the fact they give you flat pillows with only a pillow case, no cover under the case. This is honestly the worst place I have ever stayed. Being a Marriott Owner has spoiled me Read less

Tidewater itself is fine. Beautiful views...right on the beach. Each condo is different. We chose a lower floor because we had read the reviews about the slow elevators. Our condo was disgusting. It hadn’t really been cleaned prior to us arriving (we arrived after 9pm, check in could begin at 4). We had clean towels and sheets but that’s it. Coffee grounds were still in coffee maker, toaster had never been cleaned, pots and pans were old and rusty. There were items in bedroom drawers left over from previous guests. Hair was in the shower. TV in the den didn’t work. Some lamps didn’t work. Dishwasher was broken. Previous guests left a note letting us know they complained about it. Whole condo smelled bad (kids said it smelled like pickles) We went to the store and bought our own cleaning supplies. Never could get rid of smell of the condo. I assume the pictures of 113 were taken a long time ago...different appliances in the pics... I would recommend Tidewater but talk directly to condo owners prior to booking. Our friends did that and ended up with a condo that had been freshly renovated. Tidewater pools are freezing. And they don’t allow any drinking (alcoholic or otherwise) within 4ft of pool. Never stayed in a place like that..went to Mariott Legends pool to visit friends staying there and no rules like that. You do feel like you are being policed at Tidewater. Spring Hill Suites just opened on the beach down from Tidewater. We plan to stay there next summer. Being on the beach is a definite plus...only thing Tidewater has going for it. Read less

Don't stay here. First the condo, tidewater 1116. The best part of this room is the view. Its spectacular. the room is decently clean. When we arrived we had to wait a few minutes past check in for the cleaners to be done, and they missed a bunch of cheerios and cheez its by the door. After about 20 minutes the Blue Swell inspector came by for inspection. I know the hotel was full and he was doing his best to get it all done by check in, so not so much a big deal. He was actually really friendly, and while he was there there was loud drilling noises. He made sure it stopped, and it did. The master bedroom was fine...the bed is ok. It's sloping toward the center of both sides so a new mattress is in order soon, and the ceiling fan light has a short in it and won't stay on. The extra bedroom with bunk beds is pretty much too small to be called a room. It can sleep little kids fine, but not teenage kids, so we dragged a mattress to the front area and one kid slept on that, while the other slept on the fold out couch (which is a teeny thin mattress with a foam cover). You will get a bunch of dishwasher detergent and maybe one extra roll of toilet paper. You get a coffee maker with filters, dishes, cups, pots and pans and serving utensils and silverware. No extra garbage bags are given, no extra toilet paper, no cleaning wipes, etc. In the master closet is a vacuum, a chair (no chair service for this condo is available), some pool noodles and sand toys. Not sure whether they will remain, but we gifted this condo 4 fold out chairs for the beach and several cleaning supplies and laundry detergent. In order to access the room, you must memorize a 6 digit code. It's an ok condo. Now onto the reason you should absolutely not stay here...tidewater itself. I had read the reviews prior and figured we booked already and it'll be fine. I am a very tolerable person, but for thousands of dollars for the week, I better be getting my moneys worth. Lets start with the elevators. Tidewater is well aware of the issue and they constantly say "we are working to solve this problem". They are not. Its not a big deal to solve it...you stagger check in and check out times. They wont do this so the problem remains. At check in/check out times you will absolutely wait at least 30 minutes-1 hour for an elevator. Finally after the 5th full one passed us at check out, I forced myself and my kids on and begged the other riders to please let us on and to make space. Its utterly asinine. If you think like me and you think it's not a big deal, I promise you you'll leave pissed off. The staff there is utterly unhelpful and rude. The ladies at check in were just unpleasant. We stayed July 4 week. I was well aware at how full it would be there that week. Tidewater was too, because it's the busiest week of the entire year. Yet they somehow didn't order enough vinyl wristbands (they make you wear a green wristband because they said they have issues with people coming and using the pools), so they gave us crappy paper wristbands, that we were informed if they got lost, we have to pay 30 dollars. Paper bands that were not made to get wet and go and do water activities, which lets be real, every one of us is there for. I was livid. They should have waived any lost fees for people with paper bands, because THEY were the idiots who didn't prepare properly. The ladies at the front desk were quite nasty to us about it. You get a packet at check in with a big pamphlet of rules and your wristbands. Apparently they have activities to do at the condo too, like glitter tattoos, tie dye shirts, etc, but you would have no way of knowing, because they don't tell you. After check in, since everyone else is checking in at that time too, you wait in a line for elevators that stretch all the way to their lobby. This part does not move quick at all, and by this time you are quite over it, because you've just sat on a plane or in a car for many hours and just want to make it to your room to settle in. You'll wait another hour to do this. There are 2 outdoor pools and one indoor. The indoor pool is exceedingly humid and burns your eyes. The outdoor pools are fine. In order to exit the property to the beach, you must memorize another code to get out of their gate, or back into the building. Security walks around...I had no issues with them during the week, and one of the security was probably the friendliest guy on the property. Their restaurant/bar is overpriced and not good, and sort of shoved into a corner. The hallways of the condo is slightly gross, and I wish the cleaners would Lysol the doors. There are dirty nasty fingerprints on all doors. Oh...and speaking of doors, the doors in the hallways will slam at all hours of the night. Tidewater 1116 master bedroom is right inside the door...thus you are awake all night listening to doors, or if you are lucky like us, there will be a baseball tournament with kids going on and so you'll hear them yell all night too. So just do me a favor, and don't book this place. Want a fantastic spot in PCB..it's the holiday inn club vacations which is two doors down. It was unfortunately booked, otherwise we would have stayed there again. I'm not uppity by any stretch, but if I'm paying over 2 grand for a week stay, your hotel had better not be cruddy, and I classify tidewater as cruddy, not because of the room itself, but because of the property and employees. Just don't stay here. It's absolutely not worth it, and you get a fabulous property with ocean view two doors down. Read less
