Epicurean Hotel, Autograph Collection

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I had booked two different rooms at this hotel on a Saturday night that were on different floors. My friends and I had went out for the evening and returned to the hotel. While 2 of the guests went to the other room to sleep on the second floor. My other room that was booked was on the third floor which is where the rest of my friends and I were. It was late in the night and we did have some music playing. This caused us to get ONE noise complaint which was verbally given to us very aggressively by Raymond, the night manager. We had then turned the speaker completely off and the rest of the guests who were going to stay in the room on the second floor were packing their bags to go to sleep in that room. Not even five minutes later as my guests were walking out the door he barged back into the room yelling at us to leave the establishment. He then also proceeded and said he was going to call the cops along with kicking out the two guest who were sleeping in the other room, which that room did NOT get a noise complaint. Raymond proceeded to also argue with me very loudly in the hallway, which I’m sure was more disruptive than the music that was turned off. The two guests who were quietly sleeping in the room on the second floor were then kicked out by Raymond for no reason. When asking for a refund from the director of the hotel, everything seemed very shady. No refund was provided for the room that only had 2 guest in it that were sound asleep. My advice is to stay at ANY other hotel. Besides the view is of the street and parking lots, plenty of other hotels very close by that have much better views. Never staying at another Marriott again, but if you want to be aggressively removed from the property by a man who is the most unprofessional manager I have ever met, then this is your place. I have been to Tampa a few times and always try to stay here. Many times it is because it’s across the street from Bern’s! Exceptionally designed rooms. This is not a huge five star hotel room but is very nicely put together for the size. Plenty of space to unpack and work. The bed is comfortable and the linens are high quality. Bathroom is well appointed and clean. The restaurant downstairs for both dinner and breakfast is very good. My understanding is that there is some connection with Bern’s across the street. We had a long dinner there (Monday night and Bern’s is not open) and it was an impressive hotel dinner. Great lobby. Front desk staff is top-notch. Think of it as an elevated AC hotel with a food/drink focus. Only ding? In the morning, the nearby expressway is noisy. Not the end of the world and you don’t hear anything at night. Read less

Hotel was amazing as soon as we pulled in. Front desk was very very kind and helpful. Took time to explain the hotel and area. Love the glass of wine upon arrival. People at the restaurant and bar were amazing as well. Food is great. Don't skip the wings. They put so much love into them. All sauces you can tell are made in house. Hotel was build in 2013 but is not showing its age at all. Can tell this is due to the care, up keep and attention to detail from the staff and management. We were checked into a room that had crumbs on the table and the bathroom sink had not been cleaned. The bed was made. We were instantly uncomfortable at this hotel. We had to go directly to dinner at Bern’s but when we came back I let the front desk know we would only be staying the one night not two as originally planned as we knew we couldn’t relax knowing the hotel was not up to our standards with cleanliness. Ashton a manager at the Epicurean called our room and offered to move us which we happily agreed to. Ashton also gave us a $50 credit and 10K Bonvoy points but sadly the relaxing Tampa vacation we had hoped for was not to be had. For the price of this hotel someone should make sure the rooms are clean before putting guests in them. Read less

Stayed here when we took our son to see snow at Snowcat Ridge in Dade City, valet was nice and I enjoyed my welcome drink. We enjoyed our stay and the heated pool, but this is definitely a hotel that I would say is geared toward adults that enjoy drinking, as there was a full on bar in the room. So while the room was comfortable and clean I would not recommend for those traveling with tween/teens or if anyone in your party is in recovery. Read less
