Changed plans when the MLB suspended games! Marriott Autographs are always great but moving from Sarasota to Tampa seemed obvious. As a frequent traveler that spends 100+ nights a year in hotels, I must say that this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. It’s a small boutique hotel with the best food, drinks and hospitality. As a frequent traveler that spends 100+ nights a year in hotels, I must say that this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. It’s a small boutique hotel with the best food, drinks and hospitality. Darren at the front desk went out of his way at check-in and throughout my stay to ensure that I had the best time while staying at the hotel. Andreas who also works at the front desk provided great hospitality and customer service in the evenings as well. The rooftop bar is great and the location & surrounding neighborhoods (Hyde Park) offered several great restaurants and shopping. I can’t wait to return to Tampa and stay at the Epicurean again. This is definitely my “go-to” hotel whenever I’m in Tampa! Read less

The hotel has a "cool" vibe about it. Very nice amenities on 1st floor, wine or alcohol tastings each of the 3 days I was there. Top floor has a roof top bar. It's walking proximity to many restaurants on Howard Ave, directly across the street from Berns steakhouse, Little Midway ice cream shop right on sight, and short walk to Bayshore walking path. I would recommend asking for a room facing Howard Avenue. The back side rooms face the parking garage and the downside is that is the only structure separating hotel from a highway. I had to ask to switch because of the highway noise. Staff was very nice and accommodating about it. Read less

You know that scene at the end of Independence Day when the President shakes hands with Jeff Goldblum who just saved the planet and says, "Not bad. Not bad at all." That's this hotel. A very nice job of providing accomodations in a busy city. Small, with very good employees, some of whom rival the Ritz for politeness, service and going the extra bit to make your stay enjoyable. It's location in the middle of trendy Hyde Park, and across the street from Berns, is excellent. A short walk down the street to the Bayshore promenade is great. Other hotels are not suited for exploring on foot like this. But if you want to eat at Berns while you stay here, make the reservations at Berns first. But the restaurant here in the hotel is excellent though, and convenient as well. Years ago this neighborhood was kind of dumpy, but no more. Read less
