We stayed here for 10 nights recently, in a club room on the 7th floor, having previously stayed here in a garden view view room in 2010. The hotel is very welcoming, with a great lobby but the check in was, as other reviewers have said, very slow. Our room was nice, not huge but big enough, and was clean and comfortable. The club room access gave us a continental breakfast, lunch time snacks, light buffet food with alcoholic drinks in the evening, followed by sweet treats. In addition, soft drinks and bottles of water were available all day. We made use of the club room offerings most days, but the room is too small to accommodate the number of guests, especially at breakfast time. This is disappointing and meant having to take good and drinks back to our room, which wasn’t ideal. The pool area was nice, with good food and drinks service. The pool was closed most afternoons though, due to the weather or impending bad weather. We did gave a problem with additional unexplained charges on our credit card, which we hope will be resolved, but do watch this! The express passes for the parks were a great asset but not sure if we’d stay here again. Read less

Main room is a King bed with a roomy sitting area for us. A large bathroom with shower for me and my husband. Opening up the doors to the next room is the kid’s room with a light up stage for them plus two twin beds with a ceiling that included various lights including twinkling stars to light up the room. They had their own bathroom which is a great bonus. Only complaint was the King Bed was a little too soft for me. Always love visiting the parks and plan to be there soon for Halloween Horror Nights. I'm a Brit by the way, just never been in a hotel which is so dominated by the British in USA- not sure why. The hotel was superb. From the guys out front (the guy who shared the same haircut, or should I say polish as me, was great). I really liked the feel of the hotel. From the guys out front (the guy who shared the same haircut, or should I say polish as me, was great). I really liked the feel of the hotel. Check in lady great, and given our flight back the next day to UK, accommodated us with a late check out which was appreciated. Room itself was nice, and very spacious. We asked for a quiet room and got one, ground floor end of corridor, near an exit which took us to a gate which led to pool. Pool area very nice indeed. Good waterslide. Very short walk to park. Nicely lit on a night. Great memorabilia. Great staff encountered. Thanks to guy in the quick serve kitchen place who found my son's misplaced iPhone and got it back. Pricey, but wholeheartedly recommended. Only downside is parking is a rip off at $28 a night, but many hotels going this way- I wish hotels would not nickel and dime like this. Read less

We arrived at the hotel on August 10th. A quick girls trip! Obviously we stayed at the Hard Rock for the convenient access to the parks. However, just because it’s convenient, doesn’t mean it should be lacking in amenities! First, we booked a room on their Club Level - “Rock Royalty”, however we were treated more like “Rock Rejects”. We were 4 adults and one teenager. I called several times asking if the room would accommodate us and was assured that with a rollout bed, it would. Well guess what - it didn’t! I had great expectations since the bellhop who brought up our luggage told us that “you’re lucky, it’s a great room”. The room was painfully small! The rollout bed had to be placed in front of the 2 queen beds. You can imagine the fun of walking back and forth to the bathroom, the door, etc. And lets talk about the bathroom! I don’t know when the Hard Rock first opened but, it’s definitely the original bathroom. I think it even had the original dust on the vents. It amazes me when I read reviews and NOONE mentions the tiny bathroom! And the air conditioning was non existent! Our first night was so uncomfortable we called and complained. This was the bright spot of the trip. Ken from Maintenance came up to our room, let us vent about how hot the room was and couldn’t have been nicer about it. He brought up 2 fans for us and it did help. More employees in the Customer Service Industry should be like Ken! In closing, I truly believe that the reason this supposed upscale hotel charges what they do is because of the express passes that you get and that is a MAJOR PLUS!!!! However, it would be nice if they did some renovations and be more transparent about how many people can fit in a room. 5 people can not be comfortable in room 7013 ( 4 people barely). I will also say this: I will take Universal over Disney anyday! Universal parks get it right no matter when you go! Disney could learn a lot from them and then maybe it would be more enjoyable going to Disney. From this point on, we are exclusively a Universal family! (Who will book 2 rooms...) Read less

The memorabilia & decor around the hotel is fab, rooms are a lovely size and cleaned daily. The Pool is really nice with underwater speakers, the life guards are so on the ball and are being tested all the time. Our pool waitress Paige was so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Great location being only 5 minutes walk to city walk, universal studios and Islands of adventure & a short free bus service to Volcano bay. Also your room key is your express pass & early access for the parks which was fantastic.. We loved our HRH experience so much we are now visiting HRH in Tenerife for Christmas. Definitely HRH fans now🎤🎧🎼🎢🏝 Read less
