Service was inconsistent--some great, most average or below. Housekeeping terrible. I would guess a motel 6 room receives better housekeeping than Portofina. The menu selections were sparse, but the breakfast buffet had both a good selection and good service..

Exceptional resort with numerous restaurants. Open plaza to walk around, eat meals outside and enjoy your vacation. Pool was amazing with slide and zero entry! Rooms were very nice and comfortable! Exceptional choice while visiting Universal Studios Orlando.

We stayed there the 3rd week of July. Service was lacking from the start. Got the key to our suite. Went all the way across the resort and couldnt open the door to our adjacent room with that key…..so back to the front desk we went. They couldn't program it to work so they gave us a separate key for the parlor and I think that caused problems as our suite was then treated as 2 separate rooms from there on out. We go to the park. They dont have enough boats for the size of the hotel. We charge 2 lemonades using universal pay (the app). Great. The next day we try to change it fails. Tried charging to the room. That fails. Like they advertise “you dont need to bring anything with youjust charge it”…but when their system fails, YOU DO! After texting (because you cannot get anyone on the actual phone here) they finally respond asking us if we want to raise our spending limit?! We never said to limit it! I also lost sleep that night waiting for their response since there was $2100+ changed to our prepaid in full room that day…for what? I have not heard back. Housekeeping came the first day. Came but forgot to replenish a few items the second day. Never came the third day after coming back from the park hot and tired at 5pm. Had to go out to the housekeeping carts and get towels to shower. We texted to get housekeeping and they replied they were on the way. When we returned at 10pm to shower again, guess who never came…yup. Housekeeping. Out of towels again. So we text again…wait an hour. So tired, got to bed late. Had to get up early for a flight home. No bathrobes as advertised online. Safe and coffee maker in the parlor half of the suite were broken. Toilet in the bedroom portion had problems refilling if you didn't jiggle the handle just so. I have to email twice and text once after checkout to get the folio I was told I would get via email 2 days ago. And of course the $2100+ in unknown charges offset with $1000+/- in generic credits is still $640 over what I spent in food and incidentals and I am still waiting on when they are going to address that. Sal’s deli had great pizza though. That was the only highlight. Now if they would just ADVERTISE the direct number to call them to order for pickup….waiting for a text back from the front desk takes too long to get that info so you can call to have pizza ready for pickup after you have to walk back from the parks because there are not enough boats. We will not return. Read less

The hotel is great and the amenities are awesome, real close to the park, the water taxis are a plus but the waiting is long, the waiters on the Villa pool are impossible and you need to walk all the way to the beach pool to get a drink or food, the beds are comfortable but are noisy when you move

My most recent stay at this hotel was in May 2021, but I have stayed at the hotel at least 10 times since 2016, each time bringing my nieces for one-on-one time with them. We love it so much, I have an upcoming reservation for this coming Monday. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! The rooms are great--always clean and spacious (I've been in a King room and a 2 Queen room in many different locations of this large property). The pools and food are incredible. Because I've stayed there with my young nieces, I have not had the opportunity to try the spa. What really makes this hotel stand out is the staff. All of them I have encountered (front desk, concierge, housekeeping, restaurants, gift shop, recreation/pools, and water taxi) have always been very friendly, professional, and helpful. And the texting feature to ask questions, get information, or request items is great. This hotel is not the cheapest option if you are visiting Universal Orlando, but the extra cost is worth it for the perks--early park admission, unlimited express pass, guaranteed admission (during COVID capacity restrictions), and location (only 15-minute walk to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure or take the free water taxi for a quicker trip--if you need to take a break during the day, it's very easy to go back to the hotel--and just a short, free bus ride to Volcano Bay). I look forward to my upcoming stay on Monday and many more to come. Read less
