Portofino Resort is one of my favorite Resorts at Universal Orlando. I never tire of it’s beauty. It has some of the nicest staff I have ever encountered in my travels and I’am always so happy to be welcomed back to one of my favorite places to relax and enjoy the parks. On this trip I brought my adult grandson and his family. They had never been to the Portofino Bay Resort before. Kayla was so kind to take care of us and arrange for us to have adjoining rooms. Thank you Kayla for your thoughtfulness. It was a sweet sound to hear my great granddaughter knock on the door in the morning and come in and give a hug. We were in Bay view rooms that over looked the lovely Bay. These were rooms that have been remodeled and the end result is beautiful. The rooms are very large and comfortable and inviting. The curtains are heavy and block out any light for sleeping late in the morning if you choose. Our rooms were clean and well appointed. There is everything you need to have a great stay provided for you. In room safe, luggage racks, robes, plenty of towels, hand towels, wash rags, toiletries, coffeemaker, coffee pods, cups, glasses, small refrigerator, desk chairs, comfy beds. Our rooms were serviced and fresh when we returned from the parks. Also included in the stay at Portofino is the unlimited express pass. This is worth its weight in gold. The water taxi is provided for a comfortable trip to CityWalk and the parks. My grandson and his family really enjoyed their stay and I was so happy to show them around this beautiful Resort. They were so impressed with the beauty of the Resort and the staff. They said “We will be back”. We took a break from the parks to go to the beach pool and had a lovely time there. The pool staff are kind and attentive and there are plenty of soft chair towels and beach towels for your comfort. We also enjoyed our visits every morning to Starbucks in the Piazza. Katherine and all the staff there are so welcoming and helpful. This is one of my favorite Starbucks. This is one of my happy places for sure and I was so exited to share it with my grandson and his family. Thank you Michelle for your lovely greeting on our arrival. Kayla thank you for your thoughtfulness. You always make my stays at my home away from home special. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so special. You are what keeps me coming back to this beautiful Resort. Read less

We visited over Spring Break with our family of four, two nephews, and one grandma - all had a fabulous time. The kids ranged in age from 12-16. We opted for Club Level, which worked great for feeding multiple teenagers! Having breakfast, snacks, drinks, and evening dessert at our fingertips was great. We ate dinner our first night in the square with the opera singers performing over our heads - wonderful. It’s an easy boat ride or walk into the parks. On each trip the kids happily chatted about their plans for day (or their reviews of what we had done) - great to see them all so relaxed and having fun. They loved the pool and slide as well. A perfect place to stay while visiting Universal. Read less

Unfortunately, I didn’t know to ask for a view overlooking the “port”. I ended up with a grass view. There is a boat service that runs every 5-10 minutes taking people back and forth to Universal CityWalk. Several restaurants at the hotel from breakfast to fine dining are available. Breakfast is American but other meals have Itialian food with the obligatory Starbucks store. Rooms are fairly spacious with comfortable linens and towels. Air Conditioning works well and no bad smells. There are also several shops ranging from local artists to theme park merchandise. Read less

This is our favorite place to stay at Universal. Love the theming, the pool, the service, the pizza, etc. Only wish the parking fees weren't so high for those staying from out of town. We parked our car there 4 nights, stayed and ate on site, didn't move the csr once and still had to pay for 4 days of parking. Other than that, love the hotel.
