The room is quite old but still in average condition. I stayed in a twin room (2 beds). The official website indicates that it is available for maximum 4 people in a room. However a bed was too small for 2 people. We had a gift voucher for declining daily housekeeping. MagicBands (wrist band for the park) can be used to open the hotel room. Don't expect too much about the food at Intermission Food Court. Read less

My girlfriend and I stayed 6 nights during the 1st full week of November. We arrived the day after the Food & Wine Festival Half Marathon. We stayed in one of the buildings of the Rock Inn a literal stone's throw from the grand piano shaped pool towards the back of the grounds and only a short walk from the parking lot where we parked. My girlfriend is blind & has some mobility issues. The first 2 days we visited theme parks, she pointed out that it was taking us an hour to walk the literal 3 city blocks from our room to the main building to catch a bus so we decided to make the 5 minute walk to the parking lot & drive to the parks the other 3 days we were there. One of the buildings of the Calypso Inn was closed while the rooms were being remodeled. I could see that electrical work was being done as well as drywall work and could hear jackhammers & tile saws being used. My last stay had been in 2002 and I was happy to see that each of the All-Star Resorts now has it's own bus to the parks rather than one bus picking up at all 3 resorts (or filling up at 1 or 2) before heading to the parks. As always, the cast members at the front desk, the gift shop & food court and the mousekeeping staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Even with the large number of families staying there, it was still pretty quiet and peaceful. If you drive and either you or someone in your party has a handicap parking permit, let the front desk know at check in and keep an eye on your charges as $12.50/day is charged for parking at the resorts and you may be charged for parking when you're not supposed to be. The good news is that if you decide to drive to the theme parks, you don't have to pay there, too or on top of the parking fee for the resort. One advantage to driving to the parks yourself is that you drop someone with mobility problems closer to the gate than where the buses let you off at then park. The parking spaces for the handicapped are often closer to the gate than the bus stops at the parks. Read less

Trip with adult daughter to half marathon weekend. Five nights arriving by personal vehicle. Room was on the top floor, looking out toward parking (bldg 8-Broadway section). Value resort. Our room appeared to be recently renovated. We noticed more work in progress on another building in this section. Standard room; two queens, one of which was a Murphy bed that was a table during the day. Two side chairs; coffee station with a refrigerator. Large flat screen TV. Good storage and the beds are high off the ground allowing you to slide suitcases under them. We had plenty of pillows (9) but only one extra blanket. Ironing board, iron, and hair dryer in the room. Good counter space in the bathroom and shelves; small hanging area; coat rack on one wall. Pump shampoo, etc in the shower. Room location was very quiet and close to the end of the building and the stairs. Took a bit of time to get the layout of the buildings and best way to walk to the food court and transportation. We did the Quick Service meal plan. Note that meals start on your arrival day. Two quick service meals and one snack per day. Was more than enough food for both of us. We ended up buying trail mix, etc before we left to use up the snacks. For meal you get entree and drink or dessert. At a resort you can use your refillable cup for a drink ( the cookie dough dessert was great and the cupcakes). You can check your meal status on the app and do mobile orders in the parks or at the resort. Menu: PIzza and pasta dishes; Burgers, chicken tenders; Lasagna; grilled salmon I think; salads with chicken. Mickey waffles at breakfast; pancakes; eggs; etc. Pizza was good. We ordered kids meals a couple of times. Pools looked nice but we did not swim. They had activities at the pools and movies at night. Front desk staff was very helpful. Are only issue was my daughter was listed multiple times on the account, so it made errors in fast pass selections. Was able to correct this. You can decline daily housekeeping and get a gift card for $10 each night minus one night. (5 nights = $40). It comes in an email so be sure to check for this. I forgot about it until the morning we were leaving. I was able to apply the $40 to our account. If you don't choose your Magic Bands in advance you will get boring grey ones at check in. So take the time to order fun colors. Your name is also on the inside. They are mailed to your home. If you complete your check in before arrival, you can go straight to your room too. I brought a folding wagon to use to bring stuff to the room. I was very glad I had the wagon because the lobby with carts was a bit of a walk. I would stay here again. Read less
