I dont usually review, but i have been to Walt Disney World 3 times and twice at Animal Kingdom lodge. it is amazing we loved how the animals were right outside our room, and the feel of the hotel. Staff were great and really good food. close to animal kingdom park but the rest is quite far away, for my family this wasnt a problem excpet when we were away to miss a fast pass, but for a lot of families this could be a problem. The hotel was gorgous although at times we felt that indoors of the hotel was very dark but for our family that was fine. Great outdoors space with outdoor playpark, flamigos, hot tubs, swimming pool, outdoor seating and slide into pool. We recently stayed at a different hotel and both hotels are amazing although Animal kingdom lodges pool isnt the best as there is only one main pool and it isnt that big, although we were in Disney to be out at the parks when we get back to the pool or are having a pool day we almost felt that we didnt have much room to actually have a day where we are relaxing away from people. The pool would be my only complaint, everything else was amazing. GOOD JOB DISNEY. Read less

The hotel is stunning from the moment we arrived ( long flight from uk) your mind is transformed into luxury and fun most of your plans are blown away and realise you are on holiday with your family which is why you are there. We checked in with ease greeted with a smile we booked standard the rooms are lovely. I cannot praise the staff at animal kingdom lodge enough, from grounds men room cleaners they all are amazing there are to many to list and thank. The atmosphere from staff is second to none we felt looked after totally if your thinking of doing Disney go for it we have also stayed at all stars which is fab as well . Am saving like crazy to try another Disney resort next year as the memories are irreplaceable for my family. We stayed and yes the parks did close due to the global virus but the Disney staff were and I mean all staff were a inspiration to what humanity is all about i cannot thank them enough no panic we were the centre of their world. I feel privileged to have been a resident of the USA for the Time we spent there asta lavista. Read less

It is easy enough to get to the parks, short walk to the buses. The only trick we encountered is that it is easy coming from the parks to get off on the wrong stop - it's the second stop to the main hotel on the way from the parks. Aside from that, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone, and especially first time guests like us. Oh, and if you like photographing wildlife, I would recommend bringing your camera and zoom lens. I wish I would have brought mine. Read less

Stayed for four days, was in the Sunset Savanna section, did not see many animals, there were giraffes the first day far away in the trees, and I saw the ostrich across the way, felt like we were in an obscure corner with a large pole in the viewing area, right by the elevator, room 2252, looks onto many other rooms, so not very private. So not impressed with the location of the room, I know it’s the luck of the draw, I would not pay the extra 130+ a night for that room type again, just not worth it. That being said, everything else was great at this hotel, nice restaurants, ate at Sanaa (at Kidani), nice shared animal viewing areas around the hotel, with the fire, animal feedings, etc. Staff at front desk and the gift shop were helpful and friendly, bus service was the best I had seen at any of the other resorts, easy parking in a huge lot, so yes I would stay again (we usually stay at the Yacht Club) but would opt for the standard room, as the standard animal viewing was quite nice. Overall had a nice feel to it. Read less

We had such a great stay at AKL I wanted to add to the praise, even though I doubt there will be much new information, but hopefully it'll help someone. We were driving up from Sanibel and had asked for early check in of noon. We arrived and the room was ready, 5th floor right near the entrance...but my daughter wanted to see animals, so I used if there were rooms with a savana view. We ended up with a long walk from the lobby that overlooked the vultures. Initially not my favorite view, but it turns out the giraffes and other animals from the larger area like to hang out in the corner by the zebra wing, so I had coffee each morning with my favorite animals. The beds were comfortable, both my daughter and I slept very well (extra blanket for me in the closet). One of our favorite parts of the hotel was the flamingos near the pool. They are so much fun to watch, since they will pick a 3 second fight, knock beaks, then walk off like nothing happened. Parking was easy every day, and when you stay at the lodge parking at the parks is free, so for early morning park visits (HS and AK) we drove because the busses weren't running early enough to arrive at the park for the actual opening; AK was supposed to open at 9, we arrived at 8, and were on FOP at 8:38AM, so we would have missed the actual rope drop if we waited for the bus.
