We just stayed here in November and was pleasantly surprised that all of the rooms had been updated. The bathrooms are so beautiful with rain showers and jacuzzi tubs. I have been saying at OKW for over 20 years and I just love the atmosphere of the resort. I love the pools and that you have the option of taking the boat to Disney Springs.

Its 0630 in the morning and my head is killing me. I'm exhausted.. the hotel I stayed at before checking in here had a terrible bed... so I was up and down and back hurting.. I was looking forward to a great sleep here.. its always great, however, I was put in building 50.. about 50 ft from the highway... all night long I woke up to road noise.. Look at where they are putting you... Had I known, I would have pleaded not to be put back here.. At least a few buildings away from the highway... I might as well be in an Econo to sleep.. The TV had a cheap universal remote and we could not get the caption on the TV and we have to have it. We called and after an hour or so someone brought us the correct remote for the TV.. I'm not overly sensitive to noise, but in the night it carries.. I turned the TV up to try to ground out the noise from the street.. Other than that.. it, as always a great room which is why I still gave it a 5.. Clean.. friendly.. comfortable bed and pillows kitchenette.. glass cups and glasses and plastic ware and paper plates.. as we are in a deluxe studio. Had we been in a 1 bedroom or larger we would have a full kitchen and regular silverware, plates and bowls.. I really got spoiled at westwind in Tampa and also my previous stays all over DVC resorts... I at least got a quite nice sleep in Quality inn 3 nights ago.. Even the Rodeway had no street noise in the room just lousy beds. I am very surprised to find the at any dvc let alone Old Key West.. its normally one of my favorite.. The turtle pond which is a short walk behind a couple buildings on a nice but noisy trail, has a great pool, a Disney cup soft drink fill machine.. your ice machine (I think it's a little extreme to have to walk that far for ice...) laundry and a playground for children.. Its heated and great.. We were able to take all our dirty clothes to wash them as we have been going about 10 days... We washed cloths while we took a relaxing dip in the pool.. Its much quieter than the busy hospitality house.. but I really like the hospitality house area too.. no cocoa here however at turtle pond like the hospitality house and Melissa loves the cocoa.. I truly loved this hotel. We had a 1 bedroom suite with was very clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful (they truly mean it when they say ‘welcome home’). We had our own car which was really helpful; even with high attendance numbers we were in and out of the parks without issue. This is a great resort if you are looking for a relaxing/spacious atmosphere and not into ‘the magic’ 24/7. Note: there aren’t many food options on sight. Didn’t bother us but could bother some. Oh...and there really are otters!!!! Read less

We stayed the week of Labor Day - Yes, Hurricane Dorian grazed us, but Disney rose to the challenge as expected. The parks closed early on Tuesday that week, so the resort staff swung into high gear to ensure our satisfaction as well as our safety, including a character meet/greet with the Big M, Donald, Chip and Dale... We really enjoyed the pool as well. The resort bar has an amazing specialty drink, the Turtle Crawl, and the overall feel of the resort is "home away from home". We stayed in a studio room, which was ample space for our family of 4. The resort is quiet and well laid out, and even on our balcony which faced the driveway/entrance we didn't really hear road noises. The staff is experienced at ensuring the guests feel welcomed and appreciated. Read less

Great if you have a large family, but not easily accessible. Resort is very large and. buses make multiple stops within resort. One trip took up to 1 1/2 hours from Magic Kingdom to our condo. Accommodations were very nice for a family, but lack of elevators was also an issue.
