We got back yesterday from a 3-day visit and stay at the Walt Disney World Dolphin. Very nice hotel, clean, nice rooms, friendly staff. I would stay here again. The only reason I did not give it a 5 is that we did not get into our room until after 5PM. We got there a little before 2PM so we missed out on a few hours we could have spent at pool or relaxing at the resort. Marriott is a well established hotel brand and based on reservations they should know by now how to manage the turnover - especially since it's a convention and Disney resort. I was disappointed. We stayed for 5 days for our Disney trip. Best part is the location that's close to Epcot and Holly studios. Although it's technically walking distance we didn't walk and took the boats to those parks. I would guess 15 to 20 minutes walk to those parks. Lots of fishes in the water and small lizards waiting for the rides. Pool was nice although water felt cold to me. They had Starbucks coffee in the room which was better than the coffee I had at the Disney hotel. Overall it was a good hotel for a Disney vacation. Lobby was hopping every night with the convention folks which I didn't mind but maybe families might. I give it 4.5 out of 5. Hallway carpet has a wavy pattern that makes it look really worn but Im pretty sure thats the pattern, actually looked new. Read less

Three things made this an excellent stay: 1. The rate was incredibly reasonable 2 for the rate, the room was so nice, bed comfy, great view, clean and modern 3. Central access to the parks and Disney property perks! We just wish our magic band opened our room. Otherwise HIGHLY recommend.

The lobby is gorgeous and people actually congregate at the lobby bar here making it an excellent late afternoon/early evening cocktail spot with live music playing happy tunes. Drinks and service were great. Check-in was a little bit of a wait but not bad in the Marriott Bonvoy line. Clerk was friendly and helpful, calling to make dinner reservations for us right there (the concierge did our check in for us!) Room (Junior Suite) was well appointed and priced very reasonably for a Disney property. Modern decor and it looks as though recently renovated. It had a very fresh feel. Location is spot on, especially if you’re going to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. We went to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom and the location was still great. You’re right in the middle of WDW. Dining was pricey- even for breakfast at Fuel which is a bakery/coffee shop/convenient store ($40+ for 2 adults and an 8 year old and we don’t eat much!) but it is Disney so it is expected. We ate at Shula’s and BlueZoo for dinner, both of which were excellent in service and food. Swan has more dining choices so we will try there next time. Parking- Be advised, on top of the $25 resort fee there is also a $25 per night self-parking fee. Extra perks- You DO get extra magic hours and the benefit of making fast pass reservations 60 days in advance like other Disney properties but magic bands do not work here. You can’t use them on the resort grounds and you can’t use them for the early magic hours entrance- you must use your rom key. Kind of annoying, as the magic bands make everything so much more convenient but not a deal breaker. Yes, we will be staying here again for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween, and looking forward to it!
