We spent New Year’s at JA Manafaru and it was certainly a memory that we will always cherish. From the start, the service is impeccable and the staff goes out of their way to make sure your experience is great. We were traveling during the peak season and so our sea plane going out was delayed and our luggage could not make it on the plane due to weight restrictions. Inspite of the initial inconveniences, once we reached the resort we were blown away by the seclusion and beauty of our water bungalows. Our host Mangal was there to help with all our requests, big or small and the staff at the restaurants, dive center and the pools was very cheerful and pleasant. The New Year gala was pricey but the overall experience and the arrangement was impressive. There were limited vegetarian options during the gala dinner and so the chef amended that immediately by cooking up two special Indian curries for us. The lack of complimentary alcohol in the prices was certainly a gap that the resort should try to address for the future to make sure the guests truly get in the mood for New Years. We were a big group of 7 but we never had trouble finding privacy and personal service inspite if the resort being full. We were traveling with a 2 year old toddler and the hotel’s kid play area is phenomenal with slides, pool and toys to keep them entertained for several hours. Snorkeling in and around the resort is limited due to mostly dead coral and even on the tour we took to other island, the life was sparse. However, water is warm and on days it is calm, swimming and water activities were a lot of fun. The hotel also arranged a beach romantic dinner for my wife and I and a private outdoor movie watching for the entire group. Both arrangements were impeccable with all the details taken care of including drinks, snacks and service. We also used the SPA which had a blissful Balinese feel to it. On the way back, we did the boat + flight option to be able to leave a little later from the resort and found it to be a wonderful change from the sea plane. The resort had access to lounge at all locations providing comfort and break and again, the staff was always there to help with any of our needs. Overall this is certainly one of the most wonderful resorts we have stayed at. The initial annoyance with delayed luggage and the pricey gala dinner without alcohol are things that can be addressed but other than that, the stay was amazing and it left our entire family completely refreshed and recharged. This experience was amazing from the moment of booking till the last time we said goodbye to the team at the airport. We got lucky to spend our short RnR, staying in water villa with pool. • We were thrilled and excited before taking our first 90 min seaplane flight to the North of Maldives! A comfortable transfer to the seaplane terminal and a nice lounge made us feel even more comfortable. • The arrival experience was simply amazing, as you really need to feel like you’ve been waited for after this long journey. Front Office team together with GM were greeting us upon arrival accompanied with boduberu drums. Check-in went very smooth and we got to our villa soon, which was just that spacious and well equipped with a picturesque view! Welcome note, sweets, fresh juice and fruits tuned all up. The resort keeps the clock the same as local Maldives time, which is just convenient! • It was also very convenient to explore the island on bicycles. The Infinity Pool & Bar is a must to visit at any time of the day for drinks with nice view. For calmer experience check another pool & bar out - Andiamo is fo those who love the lavish greenery of tropical islands. Sunrise toga is another amazing experience, that I’m so thankful for! • Food and drinks are amazing in all the outlets, during all mealtimes. It happens often, that we skip breakfast buffets, but not here. And the staff was so attentive and thoughtful at all the times! All of our dinners in all the restaurants turned as unforgettable experiences. We were getting the best recommends from the personnel, dishes were big and delicious. Indian Ocean Cuisine night is must do - enjoy Serve in Malafaiy and Boduberu life performance. The resort has more to offer. Just couple of things, that made me feel spoilt: * waiter and bartender learnt our food and beverage preference from the first meal and were offering favorite coffee on breakfast and coming up with the right suggestions for dinners; * the housekeeping service were making up the villa in the best possible way and assisted with other questions; * chocolates with every turndown “because you are so sweet”; * turtle soft toys in villa instead of DND sign; * yellow rubber duck in a costume of plumber in the bath; * Elemis cosmetics as in-house toiletries brand (I noticed in seaplane longe). I recommend to all my friends! Read less

Excellent hotel and fantastic staff. We arrived and were greeted on the jetty by members of staff. Check in was swift and easy and we were escorted to our over water villa. Could not fault the accommodation at all. All the staff went out of their way to make our stay joyful. The food was fantastic with lots of choice. The staff get to know you as well which is a very personal touch - by the end of our stay we didn't even have to give our room number. I would say this resort is more of a family resort - we saw lots of families during our visit. The over water bungalows are amazing but we also had a look around the beach villas and these are just as nice. The island doesn't seem over crowded and is very peaceful. I would definitely recommend JA Manafaru to anyone wishing to visit the Maldives. This was our first time and we will definitely return in the future. Read less

Well we are fortunate enough to have traveled to many resorts, countries, cities and had some unbelievable experiences. Ja Manafaru was out first Maldives holiday and it was one of the best holidays we’ve had as a family. After visiting Bora Bora a couple of years ago I didn’t think there could ever be anywhere as exotic, however we found some where equally as good. After a 23 hour journey door to door, with only one delay that mucked our connection up in Male and then a plane and boat ride later ( all part of the fun) we arrived ! What a place, greeted by the GM Karen, and a few of her team, we (myself, my wife a 3 daughters 16-21) were swiftly driven to our room, luggage was brought. Smoky faces, mocktails and cool towels all waiting. We managed to grab dinner in the Ocean Grill! Fresh/live lobster you choose from their pool, great menu ! Feet in the sand ! Wine flight ! We’ve arrived! The service and friendliness of every one you meet is amazing. I had to wake myself every day to watch the sunrise. Yoga with Raj at 7am on the dock over looking the sea, gym, breakfast ! What a Choice! Ready for the day! Relax, scuba, snorkel, boat rides and more ! Or simply take the 22 minute walk around the ENTIRE island ! 22 minutes ! Amazing, a real paradise. New Year’s Eve was a magical and fun experience. Everyone was asked to meet for champagne and nibbles at 630pm ... then in small groups we were taken along a culinary and fun games journey to dinner, tasting various foods from Asia ! Great fun and well organised! Then there was the gala dinner in the main restaurant with live music and various food stations ! Try small amounts of each and try it all ! Then onto the beach for the live band, DJ and bar ! 3am finish! Families and adults all mixing ! The staff and service are excellent. They will do anything to help you. Rooms are cleaned well. The resort is very relaxed and it’s a relaxed as you want to to be! We had the all inclusive package, that’s helps when you have teenagers! Great value. Obviously some elements you need to pay for like fresh lobster, what was sweet and amazing. From the Karen the GM down to the beach sweepers everyone is genuine and really wants you to have a great experience. The food and beverage director Susi, the head sommelier, Raj the yoga i structure, the Personal Trainer, the personal Service guy and the room cleaner, the boys on the infinity bar ( cocktails 5-630) to watch the sunset ! The spa team. All of it was amazing. What a place, what a team ! Karen the GM already made a massive impact on this island I’m sure there more to come from her Thank you Karen and your team. Amazing Whilst we have more places around the world on our hit list Ja Manafaru is 100% somewhere we would return to and maybe back sooner than we think ! It took us 3 Months of research to find this place and decide to go, one of the best choices we’ve ever made on a holiday Happy New Year ! Read less
