One&Only Reethi Rah

Maldives, Indian Ocean

The hotel

Sail into your holiday in style onboard a luxury yacht or speedboat. One&Only Reethi Rah, literally translating to ‘beautiful island’, has over six kilometres of spectacular coastline, bursting with white sandy beaches, blue lagoons and private coves. The resort is awe-inspiring too, sleek and sophisticated with private villas, some with pools, some discreetly spaced along the shore and others on stilts above the ocean. The service here is exceptional — even the sand is raked each morning so yours can be the first foot steps as you step out! Water sports are all the rage or grab your towel and head to one of two swimming pools. For absolute indulgence, a visit to the award-winning One&Only Spa is essential. And if you’re travelling with children, they can be kept busy at the complimentary kids and teen clubs. Dining is a joy at the One&Only Reethi Rah. You can eat in the privacy of your own villa, ordering delicious dishes from several of the restaurants, but it’s always nice to head out. Feast on Asian, Italian and French cuisine at Reethi Restaurant, Japanese delicacies at Tapasake or stunningly fresh ingredients at Botanica, an al-fresco dining venue. In the mood for a party? Rah Bar is lively until the early hours as is Fanditha with its boho-chic seaside setting including divan bolsters and colourful Arabian carpets in the sand.

We love coming back to our favorite island. And we are happy , that years do not effect the hospitality and status of the place , it’s is still as welcoming as fresh and very warm to all of us . Very thankful for the staff and also the architects that imagined this place to be timeless

This is truly an One&Only experience..One of the largest islands set in the Maldives ... a place that has everything that you expect from a Resort in Maldives - crystal clear waters and white sands - now top it up with a tennis court, volleyball court, 6 restaurants , a 16 page inroom dining menu , motorised sports and a superb kids center - where your kids actually spend 6 hours a day and don’t want to come back... that’s One&Only Reethi Rah for you.. we tried all the restaurants on the property ( other than Botanica) and one is better than the other... Reethi Restaurant has enough and more options for Breakfast.. They have themed nights like a grill night- which has abundant options. The restaurant serves, French & Asian for dinner Tapasake has great Sushi and Jap Main course. For fantastic evening views head over to Fanditha- Arabic food and Sheeha The island is a 45-50 minute speedboat ride away. Your personal butler will greet up and get you to your villa... we stayed at a beach villa - which was large and luxurious for two adults and 2 kids. We had our own pvt beach with hammock and pool and the sea beyond. Special shout out to Hussain, our butler , who looked after us throughout our stay. The kids club- kidsOnly has extensive activities for the kids and also a nanny available on request. For diving enthusiasts- the resort does not boast of a great reef .. however the hotel organizes dives just 10 minutes away from the resort and a lovely Turtle snokerling dive a few minutes away. And yes the Management is available and visible .. there are a large number of villas on the island but it never feels crowded and cluttered. You can chat up with the GM, Jan B Tibaldi at breakfast each day or at dinner..You will find him attentive and smiling, making small talk at the reception The only downer was that they were extremely punctual with the checkout, we were not even allowed a 1 hour extension on request but that could be because the resort was running at 99% occupancy. Having been to Maldives 6 times and stayed at various resorts, I can safely say this is the best and we can’t wait to return next year .. Read less

I cannot speak more highly of this resort in the Maldives. It is certainly a splurge, but if that extra expense is possible for you, you are treated like kings and queens for your stay. We wound up staying in both a water and a beach villa, and loved both for different reasons - the water villa for its porch sunset views, and the beach for the amazing infinity pool. The beds were heavenly to sleep in, and the staff were kind and more than accommodating. The food and drink were also excellent, but not without extra price as well - the cheapest bottles of wine start at $50-60, and the buffet meals were at least $120 per person plus tax - that meant that most meals for two were over ~$500. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, however, and included. Given the chance, we would happily return here some day in the future! Read less
