We arrived on March 11th and departed on March 20th, 9 magnificent days at this wonderful paradise island. This was our 5th visit and it only gets better, we hope to return again later in the year or early next year. We returned home just before and as the island was closing down due the COVID-19. All our meals were wonderful and we were spoilt wherever we went. M6M the underwater restaurant was again one of the highlights of the holiday, thank you Turana for looking after us, always lovely to see your smiling face. We love the Palms restaurant and all there magnificent staff, to many to mention but one that always looked after us with such professionalism and always happy to chat without being to imposing - Karam One of the very best waiters we have ever met on our travels. The visits to IndoCeylon and Traditions we as always delicious meals, big thanks to Som, Roger and all the staff that attended us and your first class chefs. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoons at JDV for small lunch bites, cocktails and my favourite Cloudy Bay Sauvignon wine. Great staff again always on hand to top up your glass or to see if another cocktail is required. Our last night was a special occasion with a surprise romantic table on a secluded area of the beach with a chef on hand to cook whatever we chose from the vast array available and served by our own waiter that evening - Karam. A wonderful meal with champagne and a visit at the end of the evening to say goodbye to us from the amazing Palms staff. A big thank you to you all at Ozen, you make our holidays and the island such a desirable destination. See you soon we hope! You all take care and stay safe. Mr & Mrs Burt Read less

We arrived at Ozen on a beautiful air conditioned boat, to a gorgeous deck lined with staff members welcoming us warmly. A quick walk to reception where we were temperature checked due to the coronavirus outbreak, we then were introduced to our Butler. He took us on a golf buggy ride to show us around the island and give us the important information needed. We arrived at our water villa 2008 and shown around by the butler who then gave us our itinerary for the week (which we could change any aspect of if needed). He then left us to enjoy. We were absolutely taken away with the beauty, the room spacious, cool and the biggest bath ever. A fully stocked mini bar with 6 bottles of wine, champagne, 4 beers, coke chocolate bars, nuts and crisps (topped up twice a day). The uninterrupted view was outstanding. We found life vests in our wardrobe and collected some snorkels from the dive shack (free to hire) and we jumped straight into the sea for a swim. The amount of fish we saw of all different sizes and colours was amazing! I'm a very weak swimmer but the water was only waist height for a good mile out and current on most days not strong at all. First night we ate at Palms, a buffet but with a menu too to order mains. I had the duck and it was outstanding. Breakfast we ate in the palms again, had eggs made at the chef station and these were lovely. Fresh fruit juices are a must to try. 2nd evening was a meal at IndoCeylon this was beautiful! We didnt know what to order so asked the waited to surprise us and he brought a little bit of everything. It was gorgeous. Chef came to introduce himself during the meal which was a real nice touch. We had massages at the spa this day too, a great selection of treatments and great therapists. Monday evening we went on the fishing trip, this was bottom line fishing so easy for a novice like me. Everyone on our boat (about 8 a time) caught something, posed for a photo and threw back in. You could keep what you caught and have the chef cook for a small fee if wanted. Tuesday evening was the underwater restaurant and I cant even describe how fabulous this was!! A few nibbles and cocktails in the bar to start before being taken downstairs, posed for a photo (which they give you for free at the end along with a chef signed menu of what you ate). Food was carefully paired with wines and it blew us away. Sat watching sharks whilst eating caviar and drinking Tattinger, could it get any better than that?! We ate at Traditions the next night which was beautiful again. Food was absolutely faultless everywhere. We went on the dolphin sunset trip, we were told that the previous 4 nights no dolphins were spotted but we were lucky enough to see a school of 15 or so pretty much for the full hour. Sat on the roof with a cold beer in the middle of the ocean watching the sun go down will forever be one of my favourite memorys. Days were spent on our deck drinking bellinis, swimming in the sea or sat in the main bar laughing and joking with the wonderful staff. They knew what you liked, where you wanted to sit, never allowed an empty glass and the lunches here were beautiful, pizzas and club sandwiches, simple but gorgeous. I dont think I've ever eaten so well (and drank so much) in my life. Indulgence at it's best!! As it was our wedding anniversary whilst we were there we twice came back to a room covered in rose petals, a bath filled with bubbles and Roses and champagne waiting. A really personal lovely touch. Unfortunately we couldnt really relax due to the ongoing coronavirus issue, seemed like everyone was just worried over when the flights were stopping, we got out on one of the last flights and it was unnerving but the hotel staff did everything to keep us calm, informed and reassured even though they were so uncertain themselves. A huge thankyou to Nazim the rep who met us at the airport and saw us right through check in (we had problems with my husbands passport being Italian) he made a very stressful situation a lot easier and went above and beyond to wait with us. This was supposed to be a once in a lifetime holiday but due to not enjoying it as much as we would have liked to we have decided we just have to come back and experience Ozen without the travel stress. Do not hesitate to book this resort! It's just the most beautiful place in the world. Photos do not do it justice, words dont do it justice. You have to experience Ozen to really know appreciate it. We cannot wait to come back. Read less

My husband and I stayed at Ozen by Atmosphere Maldives for our honeymoon in October for 12 days, and we had the most fantastic holiday we could wish for! Firstly, the place itself is just beautiful, we stayed in the Wind villa and everything was so clean and luxurious. From the moment we landed at the airport we were greeted by hotel staff and from that moment our holiday began. The resort is so spacious, beautifully decorated and there’s so many things to do- snorkeling, diving, boat fishing, dolphin cruises, honeymoon susnset boat ride, luxurious spa, tennis courts, water sports and everything was included in our reservation. The hotel makes you feel at home, there’s always staff members wanting to make your trip as special as possible, they are just so kind, thoughtful and friendly. Whatever problem or help we needed was gracefully answered by our private butler- Uba, he made our stay just that more special with taking care of our every need. We would want to say a special thanks to so many people but basically all the staff members were so devoted and caring- the housekeepers, room service & mini-bar, front desk, water sports & spa, boat drips and all the staff around the resort. A huge appreciation goes to the Chefs in the main restaurant and the special restaurants for taking such good care of us- I eat gluten free and although I had a huge variety of things to eat everyday, the chefs cooked me special things and were absolutely amazing!!!! We really couldn’t stop talking about the wonderful food and special care we got every time we ate, from all the waters and waitresses too. We really recommend coming to stay at Ozen, we will definitely come and stay there again. It’s the perfect place for whoever is looking for a romantic getaway that will make you feel special and cared for every single day. Gilad & Adi Read less

Absolutely amazing. Simah our butler from day one was superb. Always attentive and making sure we were ok especially during a difficult time. The whole staff also are going through the same so we have to be mindful and they were excellent. Carol, Jennifer and the other Filipinos were amazing. Julia Kenyan also amazing and Tamara (M6M waitress married to sim) lovely and warming staff. In fact all of the team were just amazing a true credit to Ozen. Chefs were excellent and food in all places fantastic. We loved the gala dinner to dress up like the locals it was excellent. I could write more but what an amazing place and we will definitely return. Read less

Recently stayed at Ozen for 6 nights. Our experience was largely enjoyable but not what we were expecting. It’s certainly not your normal 5 star Maldives experience, I can only assume that the hundreds of excellent reviews on here are people who want the old style all inclusive holiday or those who haven’t been to a high end Maldives resort. The resort is effectively 3 islands (one staff island, one main island for beach villas, and one for restaurants / over water villas). This appears good but really the main island is somewhat wasted due to being only for beach villas (and the bar). However separating the staff quarters entirely is a good move - I’ve seen other resorts where the staff are on top of guests and not hidden (less than ideal). Reason for the low score is simply that this resort is masquerading as a 5 star but has too many low quality, poor offering issues that it makes it a 3.5-4star in reality. For example: 1. The water villas are really tired and showing extreme wear and tear. Paint stripped off, chipped wood, marks on furniture etc. The pools in the water villa have green slime in the stones that surround it, and really should be cleaned. In fact the overall maintenance of the resort is lacking and should be improved if they really want to call it a 5 star. For these prices you don’t expect the ceiling in the bar to be dripping water for example. 2. The palms restaurant should be abolished. It resembles a cheap, Egypt or Tunisian style buffet and food quality is poor. I reported this to the management and they understood, when you offer a menu of all things to all people the quality deteriorates. 3. The evenings are spent in the JDV bar which is an odd mix of loud DJs and children running round (which other adult couples try to ignore). In fact when we were there we found several evenings when baby’s in nappies were running around the bar area causing chaos (parents didn’t seem to have any respect for couples privacy). It’s not really suited to everyone - it would be better to have an adults only bar with DJ and a superset families bar for evenings, that way people can enjoy drinks in the atmosphere suiting their preferences, all together in one space and it doesn’t work. 4. The butler service is non existent. Ours (Simah) was awful and didn’t add any value or benefit to our trip, in fact he had an attitude and because he was so useless we went above him and dealt with his manager instead (Sri, who was excellent). Suggest don’t call it a butler service unless you mean it, these guys are just staff like anyone else. Not available and not able to deal with basic requests - everything has to be escalated to a manager. 5. The breakfasts are extremely poor and we chose not to have breakfast our entire trip (aside from the odd coffee which was just ok). The breakfast is held in Palms restaurant which is why it’s bad, mass quantity and poor quality. Even the food station cooked to order was lacking al la carte quality. 6. The gala evening. Where to start? This is compulsory for all guests which is the first problem, not everyone wants to join a gala evening and as no other restaurants were open you’re alternative choices are none. The whole concept cheapens the resort - it’s tacky and what you’d probably expect in a 3/4 star buffet style resort. It’s starts with party games, musical chairs etc, in the main bar. The food was badged as the main event (outdoor bbq) but really is just palms restaurant in a different guise. The food station quality was mediocre and we didn’t eat much at all. The dress code requires all guests to wear a sarong which is ok, but again quite naff. Not our taste at all, so think this should be a choice not compulsory. 7. The styling of the resort particularly the villas isn’t everyone’s taste, we found the cheap fish on the wall a bid odd, and the pinky / beige bed linen and towels a strange choice. Everything is a bit mismatched and hadn’t been colour coordinated or designed well. Maybe that doesn’t bother most but for a supposed 5 star this is unusual and doesn’t promote a ‘brand or theme’. 8. Adults only pool is needed as children were frequently in the main pool which was noisy and disruptive. On the good points: 1. The Chinese and Indian “fine dining” are prob not your normal fine dining experience but the food quality and atmosphere are great. In fact the Traditions restaurant experience is fantastic overall including the staff, and we spent all our mealtimes here. 2. Premium champagne (Tattinger / Moët) on offer is great, this is only on the restaurant and bar (not in room mind you) but is a nice touch. 3. Gin bar for adults is a nice idea, however it wasn’t used when we were there. Because it was dead, no one went there so the atmosphere was lacking. Could be good if this was changed (see my other comments about bar). 4. Staff was all very helpful, except the butler (Simah), and on the whole were extremely accommodating and friendly. The bar staff in JDV were especially great and always willing to help. 5. The large egg baths in the villas are nice touch. 6. Cinema on the beach once a week was enjoyable, films choice a bit weird (eg sweetheart, a film about a murderer/predator on desert island!) but good idea nonetheless. I would like to say a thank you to Sri (Front of House Manager) who was extremely helpful, and a couple of staff especially the Chinese girl in the Traditions restaurant - sorry didn’t catch her name. Lisa, the General Manager was present at all times (welcomes on arrival and departure) which was great to see. We would maybe recommend Ozen to those looking for a reasonably priced beach holiday (but not your high end Maldives experience). But be wary of the types of people who go here, all inclusive at this level attracts a certain crowd who want volume and quantity (not quality). This wasn’t our scene so wouldn’t return or recommend as a 5 star. Read less
