In a quiet corner of the hotel is the Spa, a soothing retreat with hammam, sauna and Jacuzzi — enjoy a treatment whilst listening to the ocean gently lap the shores. When it comes to dining, you’re spoiled for choice. There’s Indigo with its interactive buffet stations featuring Indian, Chinese and Creole specialities as well as international favourites. I must firstly mention the staff who are superb in this hotel, a special mention for Siham who is a barman in the h+h bar, he runs the bar superbly , you have a drink in your hand within seconds of entering he instantly remembers what your favourite drink is and is and is one of the nicest people you could ever meet, if ever a person deserved promotion it is this boy"management please note". Food in the buffet restaurant was excellent as in the Italian restaurant. The weather during our stay was only average but there were plenty of beds around the pool and beach areas. The hotel seemed only half full during our stay , but on the weekends the locals use it and it gets very busy. The only small niggle we found was the entertainment, there wasn't enough of it , and when there was something going on down at the coral beach bar , the chairs you had to sit on were hard blue and white plastic and were very uncomfortable. We went on two trips while we were there, horse racing in Port Louis which my husband loved, as he is a big racing fan, and we went to Casilla safari park which was superb. Overall a lovely two week break, and if we returned it would be later in the year when the weather is better. Read less

But this year they made some changes to their arrival cocktail, the menu and the deco near the lobby. The staff were sweet and very attentive and i believe that this is the best part about this hotel- they treat Mauritians as any other customer. As the previous years, i was pampered for my birthday...a big thank you to Vikesh & team for helping me build wonderful memories this year. Visiting the hotel every year is a must now and I would urge people to discover this little gem ... because it is totally worth it. Read less

Myself and my partner have just returned from a week at Ambre and what an incredible time we had. The hotel is set in a beautiful location with incredibly clean facilities and a gorgeous beachfront. The staff are so friendly and very helpful. The room was huge, with a great view and was kept extremely clean by the staff. One of the best parts of the hotel is the water sports area; not only can you kayak and paddle board for free, but there is also a free boat service every day to go snorkelling. My partner also did water skiing (which you pay for) but this is definitely recommended. The food choice is excellent in the main buffet, but there is also a lovely Italian restaurant you can book to go to (this is included in the AI) - just important to note there is a different menu on Wednesdays and Saturdays. My partner arranged for a private dinner on the beach at the Italian restaurant for the Saturday which finished our stay off perfectly. The effort the staff went to was incredible. Thank you to the restaurant manager and team for this. We went to the H&H bar most evenings where Siham served us the best cocktails! We told him what we liked, and he would make something different each time. The little club at the back is great to have a dance in too! Thank you Ambre, we will definitely be returning one day.
