The hotel

The superb Constance Belle Mare Plage nestles in 37 acres of lush, palm-strewn gardens along one of Mauritius' most dazzling white sand beaches. Rooms, Suites and Villas are spacious and tastefully decorated with luxurious furnishings and state-of-the-art amenities. Enjoy delicious pampering at the Constance Spa, and there’s a fitness centre, yoga classes and water sports for the more energetic. There are also two challenging 18-hole golf courses — The Legend and the Links courses have both hosted the internationally-renowned European Legend Tour. Where is it

Located in Poste de Flacq on the pristine Belle Mare Beach on the east coast of Mauritius. Transfer time from Mauritius International Airport: Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Please note that if taking a seat in coach this may be longer depending on how many hotel stops are en route.

Hotel information

278 rooms, suites and villas. All with private balcony/terrace, sitting area, air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, complimentary WiFi, Mac mini entertainment system and iPod docking station, mini-bar*, safe and hairdryer. Prestige Rooms have 1 king-size bed, sleep maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

All Inclusive option: includes full buffet breakfast at the main restaurant La Citronnelle or Continental breakfast at Deer Hunter or Continental takeaway breakfast pack (order to be placed 24 hours in advance). Villa guests may also eat breakfast in villa. Lunch at LaKaze (buffet), Deer Hunter (a la carte), Le Swing (a la carte) or Indigo (a la carte). Buffet dinner at La Citronelle or set menu at Deer Hunter. One 3-course dinner once per stay of 7 nights at the à la carte restaurants, La Spiaggia or Deer Hunter (selected wine and beverages included, supplements on selected items). Guests may dine in the hotel's à la carte restaurants at other times with a food credit. Afternoon tea at LaKaze Beach Restaurant. A large variety of premium branded spirits, beers, large selection of fresh drinks, soft drinks, hot drinks and water. Unlimited access to cocktails & Constance signature drinks menu, International wine list, selected menu of sparkling wines, plus complimentary sparkling wine during Happy Hour at Blu Bar. Mini-bar with selected wine, beers, soft drinks, water and confectionary (refilled once per day). Snorkelling equipment at the boat house and guided snorkelling and glass bottom boat excursions (book 24 hours in advance through the boat house). Fitness centre, indoor games, non-motorized water sports plus water-skiing and wakeboarding (excluding lessons). 2 championship 18-hole golf courses with free green fees and golf cart.

Please note: All Inclusive benefits start from 12:00pm on your day of arrival and end at 3:00pm on your day of departure. Afternoon tea and drinks are available until departure from the resort (at a supplement).

Junior Suites are more spacious and have a dining area. With 1 king-size bed and a sofa bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Beachfront Junior Suites are located a stone's throw from the beach and have a dining area. With 1 king-size bed and a sofa bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Deluxe Suites (on request) are newly refurbished and consist of a bedroom and separate living room with 1 king-size bed, sleeping up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children plus a baby cot.

2-Bedroom Pool Villas with a separate lounge, private heated pool and villa master service. With 2 king-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults and 2 children plus 1 infant or 2 adults and 4 children plus 1 infant. 

3-Bedroom Pool Villas (on request). with 3 king-size beds, sleeping maximum 6 adults and 3 children plus 2 infants.

Each and every member of staff went over and above to make our stay so memorable and perfect! With special thanks to Suren, Kailash ( the buggy driver and backbone of the complex who knew where to bring you to find where your family were, and was always there to help us ) Krish on the beach who made sure we were comfortable and able to relax as a big group together, Charlene at breakfast, Elvinio and Nishal at the bar who gave excellent service and always cheerful, Priscilla in the spa, Eduardo at reception who organised a great tour for us which Ravi a local driver took us on and went that extra mile to show us all of the south of the island, Sam and Luciano at the Indigo restaurant and Harish and Deep and a social thank you to Ashmed who does a fantastic job. I visited the hotel with my wife and two kids. We had a good time except that we couldn’t do much of the outdoor activities due to bad weather. We really enjoyed the food and would like to thank Mr Dumree and Mrs Ramila for their exceptional hospitality.

The driving range is very good and friendly even to duffers like me. Two restaurants in particular are beyond words. The la spiaggia is top notch but the Blue Penny is excellent. The staff are well trained and nothing is too much trouble. All the restaurants provide an excellent service and the food is top quality in them all. Staff only too happy to ensure you get the right photograph at the right angle, and all done with a smile. The Deerhunter restaurant is our favourite, and although the hotel is built in an extensive site, complimentary golf-type buggies are easily available to drop you at the courses, the Spa or the on-site reataurants. Any minor niggles we raised were immediately dealt with by the Guest Experience staff, and Pratisha was especially helpful. Our night maid (Reena) was so courteous and thoughtful, even running us a bath so it was ready, sprinkled with fresh petals when we returned from our night out. Her skill with towels , creating beautiful swans on our bed too, was so beautiful and touching. Our third time here .. but we will be back next time. The Prestige Beachfront apartments are fabulous.
