The hotel

The Oberoi Mauritius is the epitome of service and luxury. It sits in 20 acres of lush tropical gardens overlooking intimate beach coves. Spacious pavilions and villas offer the ultimate in privacy and exclusivity, whilst the hotel's architecture seamlessly blends natural materials like stone, wood and thatch to ensure the building barely intrudes on the idyllic environment. A 600-metre long beach stretches along three individual curves of white sand and the entire area is enclosed within a protected marine park. Visit the Oberoi Spa for luxurious pampering in exceptional private rooms — there's a whole host of treatments to choose from. Which is to us the real definition of luxury, customers value and experiences, as luxury does not need to fullfill needs but dreams... Great people, great food, great welcoming "stolen moments" which have been making us feeling better than at home and we are now sure about it : Heaven is there, and we will be back to that great resort, a definitive high end masterpiece to stay at... having so many friends to meet as often a possible from the GM to the best Mautius artist, our friend VACO and all our olympic members familly Read less

First trip to Mauritius Not sure what to expect But what a delight Gorgeous , friendly people who genuinely want to assist Clean safe country Yes it was summer and rainy season nevertheless lots of sunshine The Oberoi is an outstanding property on the northwest of the island It’s protected and the weather here is milder than other parts of the island I’m told The property is set around one of the most magnificent hotel gardens I have seen -Beautiful flowers and birds ( although they were a little intrusive and annoying at breakfast). Think low rise villas many of which have private pools- ( definitely go for one with a private pool). The beach is okay but the outlook stunning . The villas spotless and housekeeping were meticulous. The villa gardens immaculate. The gym and spa outstanding. Food was overall excellent quality and commensurate with a 6 star property. Service overall very good. Try the gunpowder room definitely - very nice ambience and service. The bar and live music great. There were daily activities but we chose to rest , swim , sleep , exercise and reconnect - the perfect location for that. The resort is expertly managed by Mr Pereira who is larger than life , very approachable and charming. A wonderful resort on a beautiful island - the people universally charming and warm. Think high end luxury with private, well meaning service. Read less

The staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble and the resort has a lovely vibe. There are a variety of activities available each day, from scuba diving, to yoga, wine tasting and star gazing. As mentioned in another review, there are better beaches elsewhere, but the Oberoi is very private and there are always sun beds available, interspersed with plenty of hammocks if you really want to kick back. It’s a yes from me! Read less

From the moment we drove in to the Oberoi, the Mauritian hospitality that we had come to know and love after two weeks spent in Flic en Flac and on the lower west coast of the island came into full effect. My family and I enjoyed every moment and bit of luxury that the resort had to offer and we most definitely plan to come back again. I will never forget the experiences we had here and can’t wait to plan our next trip. Literally everything was wonderful and none of us have any complaints whatsoever. I left with an enhanced culinary palate, a newfound love of water sports and astronomy, and a wealth of love and knowledge gathered from the many friends and lovely guests and staff met during our week-long stay. One common worry about resorts is that you run out of things to do, but the Oberoi offered something new and exciting and interesting every day. The attention to detail and amount of personalization that goes into makes it worth every penny. Thank you <3 Read less
