The hotel

The Oberoi Mauritius is the epitome of service and luxury. It sits in 20 acres of lush tropical gardens overlooking intimate beach coves. Spacious pavilions and villas offer the ultimate in privacy and exclusivity, whilst the hotel's architecture seamlessly blends natural materials like stone, wood and thatch to ensure the building barely intrudes on the idyllic environment. A 600-metre long beach stretches along three individual curves of white sand and the entire area is enclosed within a protected marine park. Visit the Oberoi Spa for luxurious pampering in exceptional private rooms — there's a whole host of treatments to choose from. We went there for our honeymoon and were extremely impressed. Not only with the property, but the entire staff were extremely service friendly and very appreciative of our time. We would definitely recommend it.

Pavillon room was spacious with a beautiful outlook, tea coffee provided, a sunken bath that looked into a small enclosed garden was fab. Activities list was varied, we did yoga for the first time then did it most days. Went to a small town in north Gran Baie nice shops and a beach bar/restaurant to watch sunset. Gunpowder restaurant at hotel was a super experience food was excellent although we couldn’t eat it all. Main restaurant and on the rocks both were equally up to food standards. We sat mainly on the beach for the beautiful outlook, the pools were very pretty also. Only negative about this resort is that it is not easy getting in and out of Read less

My husband and I are lucky enough to have stayed at some amazing places but this is on another level. Restful, peaceful, beautiful well kept accommodation and fantastic food. Nothing is too much trouble everybody knows your name and works so hard to exceed all your expectations. It was the second time we had visited and if anything it has got even better there was nothing that fell short in any way. The Oberoi asked me to fill in a form on my first visit and it must have been from that information they realised it wad my birthday and this wonderful chocolate cake arrived at our villa and was a wonderful surprise. We loved the Yoga classes and my children made some amazing sculptures at the sculpture class. We enjoyed a very special dinner on the beach and the service by every member of the amazing staff was completely wonderful. Thank you wonderful Oberoi for a perfect holiday and we hope to be back very soon. Read less
