The St. Regis Mauritius Resort

Mauritius, Indian Ocean

The hotel

A luxurious throwback to the colonial days when Mauritius’ sugar industry thrived, the all-suite The St. Regis Mauritius Resort’s rambling grounds, residential atmosphere, and bespoke furnishings create the feel of a Victorian sugar baron’s mansion. The exclusive St. Regis Butler Service sweetens your experience – they’ll pour your morning coffee, make your dinner reservations, and even unpack (and repack) your cases. The homely feel here doesn’t mean you forgo resort treats though: there are lovely pools, water sports and exquisite dining and drinking spots, from the Asian Floating Market to the beachside Boathouse and Grill. The UNESCO World Heritage site at Le Morne Mountain provides a befitting backdrop to the resort with some of the world's best diving and kite-surfing only moments away. Days are best spent on the hotel's white sand beach, one of the island’s best, with its iridescent lagoon. Press the buzzer on your parasol and your drinks and snacks will be delivered to your lounger! If you want to escape the sun, head for the hotel's air-conditioned indoor cinema with its reclining chairs — some of your favourite films shown every day!

The staff is friendly and very obliging. Specialy we want to thank our personal butler Archie for his superior service, due to him it was the ultimate St. Regis 5-Star experience for us. Furthermore our compliments to Mr. Arnaud and his beach team and Nicolas at the breakfast room! We really enjoyed to be your guests! Our Room was always clean and tidy after every room service (incl. turn down service). The à la carte restaurants with a good variety and quality of food (we booked a full board), drinks are quite pricy. We highly recommend this resort and we`ll be back as soon as possible! Read less

While I have stayed at tons of 5-star / luxury hotels in the past, St. Regis Mauritius beats all of them hands down. I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, and it was an experience of a lifetime. Everything about this hotel was just perfect. There are so many good things I can say about this hotel and the entire staff, but I'll try and keep it short (not too short though). I am a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite guest, and I booked a Junior Suite on points. I had applied 5 Suite Night Awards (SNAs) but the SNAs was not approved due to the hotel being sold out. Unexpectedly, I was upgraded to Manor House before arrival. Manor House is a 1570sqft Suite with a separate seating area, a King Royalty Bed, the balcony has a double-size day bed, a couch, and another chair and table. The bathroom was so huge and it has an oversized egg-shape bathtub, 2 massage beds, 3 sinks, and a huge shower which can accommodate at least 6 people at a time. From check-in, I was treated as a VVIP. The welcome drink was so good that I asked for another glass 4 days later. I was checked in by Monica and was also greeted by Dimitrios (the property manager). It was another touch for Monica to have led me to my room 103. Again, everyone at this hotel were very friendly. From Rajeev from the butler team whom I was communicating with before arriving at the hotel, to Mary Jane my personal butler. Sharmila from housekeeping did amazing job by making the room spotless everyday. Oh my gosh, my friend Sajeet from the BoatHouse Restaurant who made sure I had the best breakfast experience every morning during my stay. Special thanks to Sajeet again for setting up the 'Sunset Champagne Sabering' up for me. It was a great experience. My friend at the tennis court, Charlotte at the Atsuko Restaurant, Virginie from Le Manoir Restaurant, the servers and chef from Floating Market.I can go on and on and on. @Tudor1978 was very correct about his reviews also. We met at the hotel, beautiful couple lovely family. Lastly, I'd like to say thanks to the hotel for all the extra touches. The airport transfer in a Mercedes (even though I paid for the cheapest option of cars) was another touch of generosity from this hotel. Not forgetting being able to check out as late as 8pm on the day of departure. I'll leave the rest of the reviews for my blog :) thanks again, and I'll be back soon Read less

One of our best holidays ! Stayed 4 nights beginning of December. The hotel is amazing, the colonial style buildings which make up the rooms are extraordinary - the entire resort does not feel like a hotel but more like a very beautiful home. Even though it was fully booked, it felt and it was quiet. We slept with the balcony door open and it was fantastic with the nice air from the sea, we did not have any mosquito issues during this time period. You have amazing sun set views right from your balcony or room (stayed at #635 ). We think we hit the best time of the year as the temperature was just prefect - dry and warm +29 during day and night. We highly recommend therefore going in December as in Jan we heard the rain sets in and it becomes very humid. They offer scuba and kite surfing besides the regular water sports right out of their water sport center which is next to the main pool area - for kite surfing you can also walk down the beach to the lagoon itself and take a local coach there or just hit the water with your equipment. It’s a 15-20min walk though. We loved the Boathouse for dinner. We also were privileged to have breakfast there as we have the Bonvoy status. It’s a la carte and therefor all is just fresher and better than the general restaurant but be aware that it takes time to get your order. We waited 40min for our Omelettes.. If you want a great person to help you for any Boathouse requests or arrangements ask for Lucinda, she is the best and make things happen over there ! A tip for excursions: we booked our waterfall hike through the concierge. They arranged us a taxi and brought us right to the tour operator at the waterfalls. We suggest to book directly with Raj Adventure via the internet They are amazing! We had such a great time. Its a family business (Mother, Farther and son) and their son Mervin was our guide - ask for him ! At the end of the tour we even got invited to their private home for some refreshments. What a great experience, it was so nice ! See my other review on them under Raj Adventure. For now, we wish you much fun and relaxing holidays, you booked definitely one of the very best resorts on the island! Read less

We just ended yesterday our 16 nights stay with our two kids at the St Regis Mauritius Resort. Let me tell you that this hotel is probably not only the best hotel I have ever been to, but certainly one of the best in the world. From the perfect endowment of the suits, all facing the ocean, which is in a couple of meters distance, to the brilliant service (housekeeping is perfectly done, both in the morning and, if needed, also in the after-noon, the butlers take excellently care of the guests, the evening service takes then care whether the guests have further wishes, etc), to the beauty of the ocean, quality of the breakfast and of the restaurants where guests with meal plans are entitled to dine, the pool, absolutely everything exceeded our expectations. Special thanks go to our butler Jerzey, who took care of us in the absolutely best imaginable way to the pool team of Nikesh, Rikish and Kervin, who served us at the pool in an exceptionally good way, to Nicolas who took care of us at breakfast in a splendid way, to the waiter from the Floating Market restaurant, whose name unfortunately I don't know, but whose seniority, pleasant appearance and proficiency made our dinners an unfogettable experience, to May, to Raj and all the other team members. A big thank you to you all !! It has been a splendid holiday! Read less
