Enchanted Island Resort

Seychelles, Indian Ocean

The hotel

If there’s even the slightest bit of ‘Robinson Crusoe’ in you, it’s sure to come out at the romantic JA Enchanted Island Resort. But this is doing ‘castaway’ like an A-lister. Home to a mere ten luxurious villas, this little private island sits in Sainte Anne National Marine Park. Your exclusive villa has a charming creole design and features a private infinity pool, outdoor bathroom, deck and gazebo, and a private walkway down to the beach. And, although you may not have a ‘Man Friday’, you do have a butler at your service to put loungers on the beach for you, bring you a refreshing drink or arrange a kayak for you. There’s a restaurant by the hotel’s clifftop pool where the chef's on hand to chat about the delectable local dishes, or you could opt for private dining on your villa’s terrace. And, if that’s not enough extravagance, the resort's spa offers more in its oceanfront treatment pavilions. This island hideaway is the ultimate in privacy and relaxation for couples.

Really enjoyed our stay here, we did lots of chilling out and winding down in this beautiful place... snorkelling around the island and sundowners and dinner with beautiful views, perfect for what we wanted. We will explore more next time...

I called the hotel and spoke to Patrick Maranga. He went over to the airport, got hold of my drone, found a freight forwarder to ship it over (despite the fact that it has batteries that couriers don't want to carry) and, in short, spent hours of his time remedying the result of my personal hopelessness when it comes to keeping my stuff together. What service! Read less

If you only have one chance of a luxury holiday then this is the only resort to consider. It is simply the best. We stayed for 2 weeks in February and from the moment we were met at the airport our holiday began. (One tip, book arrivals fast track with local airline ground services to avoid very long queues at immigration) It’s just a short taxi drive and a 10-minute boat trip to get to the resort. Other reviewers have explained the villa concept and the layouts, but we had no complaints about our location. You are completely hidden from view on your private balcony, gazebo and pool. Although it is a bit strange having a bathroom outside, you are not overlooked and there are screens you can pull down if you are worried. You soon get used to it. You then have a private path via steps down to the beach. The main contributing factor as to why this resort is so brilliant is the staff. Everybody knows who you are, and you’re are greeted, by name, with a smile, at all times. The team are a credit to the manager Burak. I will try and mention the various services and note personnel, but apologies now to anybody I have missed. (also, for any spelling mistakes!). Pre-arrival. Patrick was extremely helpful in providing detailed information on the resort, menus, excursions and facilities before we even arrived. It allowed us to get a good idea of what we were going to do. There are many tours available and you can even walk (at low tide) to one of the neighbouring islands. Restaurant/Bar. Expertly managed by Suresh, and supported by Bhuwan, Vinod, Steffi. (also special mention to Sanjit, who left to get married while we were there), and the head chef Sumar. Suresh is an expert in his field and cannot do enough to help. Sumar will modify the menu to suit individual tastes and allergies. He even did his version of good old English fish & chips for us. Menu choice is varied, with a good choice of fish, meat and curries, plus vegetarian. Theme nights also are excellent, (Creole, BBQ, lobster night). Breakfast is cooked to order with an excellent variety of eggs, bacon, sausages, continental, etc. Portions are plentiful and you will not go hungry. Room services. Each villa has its own butler and maid services, who have a magical power to only attend when you are not in the villa, so as not disturb you. Thanks to Moses, Pamala, Ian, Bhagwati, and the rest of the team. Spa. Unfortunately, I had an accident while on an outside trip and both Ju and Sylvanna helped with massages and hot towel treatments. I am not in to yoga, but it was available if required. Thanks again ladies. There was honestly not one negative point about the resort. I agree that it does not suit everybody’s tastes. If you ae looking for a big, busy resort with many activities then this is not for you. However, if you want perfect relaxation, great food, fantastic service, then this is the place to be. Arrive as guests, leave as friends. Read less
