Hilton Labriz Seychelles

Seychelles, Indian Ocean

The hotel

The Seychelles make an obvious choice for those looking to hide from day-to-day realities and none more so than Silhouette Island. The island looks like another world, untouched by time with glass-smooth granite boulders strewn around the beach and a stunning blue lagoon. The Giant Tortoise makes a home here and you won’t want to leave either once you see the designer villas and pavilions nestled between lush jungle and the white sand beach. Imaginatively and carefully designed to create the feeling of maximum space, together with ensuring they are sympathetic to their surroundings, the villas and suites are simply lovely. Experience complete indulgence with the Silhouette Spa where there is a wide range of treatments available, you can even enjoy a treatment in the private outdoor pavilion. With seven elegant restaurants and bars, there is certainly quite some choice when it comes to dining. Make sure to try the fine dining experience of the elegant Portobello, which serves modern Italian cuisine with stunning views of Mount Dauban. If you can be tempted away from the idyllic beaches, and they are difficult to tear yourself away from, a major highlight on the island is the Grand Tortoise Sanctuary where animals of up to 120 years old may be seen.

Enjoyed but the best part about this was the island and accommodation. Everything else doesn’t really feel like a five star hotel. Food is ok. Bring bug spray. So many mosquito bites even in the room with the doors closed and ac on. I had to request mosquito netting as I was pregnant and waking up with 25+ bites which they kept saying might not be mosquito bites. I know what a mosquito bite is, I grew up in the woods of a humid and hot place! I wouldn’t bother with the golfcarts. We requested once and were late to dinner because it took 30m to arrive. I think they forgot about us because I had to call again. Cleaning cart was stationed outside our outdoor shower area the whole time. Boat taxi is expensive. When we were pool side we would have to walk up to the bar for service instead of pool side service. Beach is very rocky in places. Check in was a nightmare. I know it said 2pm but they just left us out in the heat by the pool for hours. I had to keep asking about it as I was worried we’d been forgotten. Our room wasn’t ready until 2:15 and I had to go to the desk again to ask. You’d think being a Hilton honors member or being pregnant would speed this up. Flies on the food at breakfast, which I think they could get coverings for. Sometimes we were out of water or towels in the room. Sometimes the staff was great like making up a bath or getting me a pregnancy pillow or giving advice on which hikes to go on or where to see the tortoises. I just don’t know if it was 5 star. We stayed at the savoy later and the service/food was a bit better. They even gave us sparking wine and cake for our Anniversary. Would of been nice to get a card or something from Hilton. Lovely island though. I think it’s especially good if you can do the hiking trails. Read less

In many aspects this resort is excellent. Especially because of its staff who are without exception sooo kind, warm and professional. The service was one of the best we had ever encountered. Our beachvilla (recommend the southern part, around 210) was perfect, spacious, well equipped. The housekepping was almost faultless. On the downside - the timetable of the only boat to get on and off the island was horrible for us. After like 18 hours of flying and waiting at the airports we had to wait 6 (six) hours for the departure of the boat. Also on our way back we were shipped off the island at 11.15 am for our flight at 6.30 pm. Not the hotel's fault, but the lagoon is almost useless for swimming and snorkeling. During the low tide the water just covers your knees, during the high tide the sea gets rough. There is no "housereff" and almost no sealife whatsoever (only some rays to be spotted). The same applies for diving and snorkeling with the diving center - we hardly saw a thing worth mentioning. As the island is perfect for relaxing and sleeping, after couple of days you may get bored, not many activities around. We did two hiking trips (including Grand Barbe which was risky because of descending in a shower across sliperry rocks). Portobello and Sakura restaurants - delicious food, perfect service. Was not impressed with the main buffet restaurant. Dark and stuffy inside, tables outside without a charm. Was also disappointed with selection of food for breakfast - things changed in the middle of our vacation after some bosses in suits had visited the restaurant. A piece of advice - please put a desinfectant in the restaurant, especially in the buffet one - this is a hygienic minimum. And please - get rid of those excessive number of baggy cars driving up and dow the resort. It is annoying to jump off the path like ten times when walking to dinner. Some staff members driving like crazy. Overall - a nice stay in a well run resort and thank you to all friendly people. Some points for improvement are always possible. Read less

A beautiful place to stay with staff who are so lovely and can't do enough to help. The little touches and the effort of the staff make this a perfect place to stay for our honeymoon. We stayed in a sea view and would highly recommend this, a wonderful outlook! We couldn't fault one thing about the hotel.

During our stay, I found excrement in the house three times so we still have no idea whether it is from rats or insects, which destroyed our commodity quite enough. • Unfortunately our villa was right under the palm tree so almost every night we were waken by coco nuts strongly falling on our roof. Considering the restaurant: • Dirty tables and pads on the table which were not been cleaned after previous guests • Cats in the restaurants which are quite annoying Hotel roads: • In a very bad condition. Broken and too narrow for baggies and people crossing on the same place. Internet • Very bad internet connection Read less

This is our 4th stay at Labriz over the last 4 years. While we were mesmerized by the location and infrastructure when we first visited in 2015, each subsequent stay confirmed and enhanced our initial appraisal. This is the result of the exceptional commitment and dedication of the local team. While each member of the staff we met proved extremely attentive, well-mannered (and smiling!), some people we came across definitely deserve a special mention: - John Bosco, the Food and Beverages Manager (a title freshly granted but so well deserved). He did his utmost to accommodate and anticipate our very needs during our whole stay. - Payel, Suresh and Gabin from the café Dauban. While all members of the F&B team prooved efficient and willing to help; these are people that deserve a special recognition. - Aji Daniel from the maintenance team. While this is staff we normally should not have met in normal circumstances, his smiling face and super kindness made him an instant friend to our son. - Hussain who was in charge of cleaning our villa. Being accompanied by our 7-years old, we can testify that he really did a great/efficient job. - Daniel from the Activity Center. What a great guide he is! He accompanied me to Grand Barbe (in October 2018) and definitely deserve all his place in this review. - Morris Ambani, the most efficient and commited guest relationship manager we have met for quite some time. Thanks to all these great people (as well as those we did not mention by name) for being the sunlights of our trip. Finally our sincere gratitude to Andre Berg, the Hotel Managing Director, for assembling, organizing and motivating such a wonderful team! Looking forward to coming back in 2020! Read less
