Hilton Labriz Seychelles

Seychelles, Indian Ocean

The hotel

The Seychelles make an obvious choice for those looking to hide from day-to-day realities and none more so than Silhouette Island. The island looks like another world, untouched by time with glass-smooth granite boulders strewn around the beach and a stunning blue lagoon. The Giant Tortoise makes a home here and you won’t want to leave either once you see the designer villas and pavilions nestled between lush jungle and the white sand beach. Imaginatively and carefully designed to create the feeling of maximum space, together with ensuring they are sympathetic to their surroundings, the villas and suites are simply lovely. Experience complete indulgence with the Silhouette Spa where there is a wide range of treatments available, you can even enjoy a treatment in the private outdoor pavilion. With seven elegant restaurants and bars, there is certainly quite some choice when it comes to dining. Make sure to try the fine dining experience of the elegant Portobello, which serves modern Italian cuisine with stunning views of Mount Dauban. If you can be tempted away from the idyllic beaches, and they are difficult to tear yourself away from, a major highlight on the island is the Grand Tortoise Sanctuary where animals of up to 120 years old may be seen.

When you Stay at a Seychelles Hilton hotel, couples celebrating their honeymoon or anniversary are offered a day visit to a sister Hilton hotel on Seychelles which is generally a visit to the la brize exclusive island resort . We visited on the day of our anniversary. It was superbly stunning, a resort which is the sole inhabitant on silhouette island. We started the day with a spa treatment which was so amazing that extended the session. we then had lunch where the “best” fish and chips was really the best. The rest of the remaining time, we spent lying on shade beds watching the turquoise beach. A true gem and treat. Check prices, could be reasonable. Read less

The island is a real paradise, and the beach nothing less then what you imagine. Houses are great, food is good. A bit far from the other islands, and difficult and expensive to travel, but great for leisure.

We chose to spend our two weeks honeymoon at the Hilton Labriz (after a lot of research), and we were not disappointed! We arrived by helicopter, arranged by the hotel, which gave a fantastic view of the island. We had a King Beachfront Villa (no 206) which was completely fab, our own bit of beach paradise! The room was very well appointed, large, very clean, and very well kept by Somu our room keeper. We enjoyed great food in the restaurants, and the staff everywhere were extremely friendly, helpful and lovely. The regular Friday evening special event, Street Food, was particularly wonderful, a great open air experience with top food from around the world. John Bosco, the Food & Beverages Manager, was brilliant in his organisation, and his kindness to us.The weather was great, some occasional rain but mostly powerful sunshine (very little pollution in the sky so you feel the suns rays very strongly). The island is properly tropical jungle, and huge fruit bats wheel around in the late afternoon, very impressive. There are treks to be done for the fit and adventurous - we didn't do any, preferring the almost deserted beach for peace and sun. We did a breezy romantic evening cruise (part of our package) and enjoyed canapés and bubbly as we wizzed right round the island. We had very few problems with insects - the tiny black flies are a bit of a nuisance but nothing serious - and only a couple of minor bites from mossies. We splashed out on bottles of wine which were hugely expensive, but as we knew this would be the case we had budgeted for it. Great cocktails were decent value in the two "happy hour" two-for-one periods. There were plenty of buggies (golf cart style) if you needed a lift around the resort which is quite spread out, handy if a heavy shower coincided with dinner time! We really pushed the boat out for this holiday as it was our dream honeymoon, and it was utterly worth it - a fantastic hotel in a beautiful location with lovely people and beaches to die for :-) Read less
