Raffles Praslin, Seychelles

Seychelles, Indian Ocean

The hotel

Every little luxury has been thought of at the award-winning Raffles Praslin. It starts with the location, on the white powder sands of Anse Takamaka and just minutes from Anse Lazio, regularly voted one of the world’s best beaches. Then there’s your villa, which has a private plunge pool, an outdoor pavilion with a daybed, and even a yoga mat, easel and sketch pad for moments of pure escapism. There’s also the decadence of two infinity pools and a selection of dining, from pan-Asian to Creole. And, of course, there’s a spa — this vast haven of peace and relaxation is rather special and, with stunning views, luxurious facilities and a tranquil spa garden, it's no surprise it has been nominated for a number of prestigious awards. To top off your stay at Raffles Praslin, you'll find extra treats, like the island’s only shisha lounge, Takamaka Terrace, where you can stargaze and sip cocktails in a rooftop setting.

the stay was perfect. We travelled for 12 nights to the Seychelles and split our stay between several high end 5-star Hotels, the Raffles was by far the best experience. We ended up canceling our last hotel and extending our stay at the Raffles. The entire staff made us feel more than welcome, The hotel is great , well located and the Villas are really comfortable with superb views ( highly recommend the panoramic Villa if it is within your budget ). Kudos to the The management , Edouard ( reminded us of a James Bond :) ), Salwa and the rest of the staff ( Samia, Angèle etc) that have really made our stay feel special ( i do not remember all of the names , but truly we felt as if we are staying in a 5 star high class experience that feels very homey and cozy). Contrary to other 5-star high class hotel, we did not feel that we were getting robbed or extra charged whenever we needed to do something ... we received a lot of complimentary treatments that made our stay feel special. Lots of activities possible and are proposed by the hotel (we went for a snokling trip, visited to the Curieuse island, rented a car to visit the island and commuted back to Mahe via helicopter), everything was nice. Moreover, a lot of activities are offered free by the hotel (unlike other Hotels). It is not very cheap, but it is not overly priced as well. Then again, you are staying at the Raffles … The restaurants are pretty good, with a lot of varieties. the Hotel organizes occasionally some events, which adds diversity to your stay. The breakfast was really good and caters to all tastes. My fiancée has a million allergy and exigence, they made always sure that she was well serviced , and taking into account her particularities… The Hotel beach is nice, a bit small, but you have to know that you have access to two neighboring additional beaches within few meters (however they are not serviced by the hotel but are secluded). Surprisingly, the hotel pool was always warm when we used it , which was a plus compared to the other hotel. The staff will go a log way to make your stay feel ‘’ extra’’, nonetheless if you act as a posh prick you can’t expect a good service in return (being nice goes a long way …) Read less

Staff Fantastic services in all departments even delivering to another island an item my wife had left in the room. 2. Pool area A magnificant 45 metre+ pool divided into 2 sections. Plenty of sun beds and shade if wanted and great pool staff with occasional free fruit and other items. 3. Food and beverage One of the best buffet breakfasts I have seen. Also dinner one evening was great quality. 4. Room A lovely large villa with outdoor shower and usual indoor facilities and small plunge pool A few minor gripes. The beach is not that great (small and when we were there poor weather meant activities could not be operated). It is very hilly and you will welcome the buggy service but sometimes this takes longer than expected. These minor gripes apart, this was an excellent hotel with great staff. It is not cheap but then nothing on Seychelles is and we booked our own excursions as the hotel ones were really expensive. Read less

The facilities were great, the pool was really nice to swim in. The staff was very friendly and always accommodating. Room service knocked on our door a little too early in the morning (make sure to put the do not disturb sign on your door :) you need buggies to get around which is a nice system, but at time you need to wait for them. The beach is beautiful. The pan-Asian restaurant was delicious, especially their curries. The staff serves complimentary popsicles and fruit by the pool. And breakfast was really nice! All in all, a very luxurious and pleasant stay. Read less
