We stayed for a week (as the 2nd half of a tour of Sri Lanka) and we ate in the buffet restaurant for the majority of or meals as the food was good quality and the choices changed every day and varied from traditional Sri Lankan to Indian and European food with a very large selection of vegetarian options. We ate in one of the a la carte restaurans one evening and found this to be of a high standard also. On our last day we had a massage in the hotels Spa which was a great way to relax before our long journey home. Read less

Have just returned from Sri Lanka (flew back 23rd March) and where I spent the last nine nights of my stay in the Cinnamon Bey Hotel. During that period, the number of Covid19 cases in Sri Lanka began to increase, and the government imposed a 4 day curfew. Staff were told that the hotel would close at the end of the week as there was no possibility of any new guests checking in. How did they respond? Unbelievably helpful, supportive, and kind. The service throughout our stay was exceptional and bearing in mind the circumstances, I cannot belive or understand why anyone would say otherwise. We were worrying about the possibility of not being able to get home but the attitude of the staff more than helped put our minds at rest. In addition, marvellous pool, probably one of the best buffet evening meals I have ever come across, very reasonable bar prices, a multitude of English televison channels, gym, spa, and good entertainment (until the momnent that the curfew came into effect and prevented entertainers from getting there). We will definitely return as soon as we can. Read less

Rooms and facilities excellent but stand out was the staff who in the very difficult circumstances of the Covid19 scenario where uniformly helpful cheerful and went out of their way to make things happen where they could.

Overall this is my 5th visit at a cinnamon hotel . I've been to Hikka Tranz twice. I mainly go for the food and the hospitality which is great over here . Relaxed a lot ate a lot and had a lot of fun . Came to celebrate my mothers birthday and it was great. Thank you so much Sereena Dole and the guy from the reception (i think its thilina ?! i really cant remember his name sorry about that .All i do remember is that he was born in 1990. LOL ) for helping me to make it memorable couldn't have done it without your help . Also thank you karunarathne for making our dining experience more pleasant it was nice to see a bubbly character around . L. Dillip the pool attendant was really helpful and also funny . The 1st night was entertained by this amazing guitar player who was playing beautiful songs for us it was amazing did not feel like going to sleep at all even though we were really tired . And the 2nd night was a mix of instruments which i really enjoyed as well. The only Unpleasant experience i had to go through was coming back home since i did not have a proper ride as i do not have my own vehicle . I was extremely angry about the fact that i could not book my own cab to the hotel to go back home since the tuk tuk drivers who work for the hotel have threatened the cab driver i came with . Which i find it very unprofessional and unethical it was double the cost and energy for me since i had to go in a took which had no meter where they came up with their own amount ( and at this point u really cant argue since u have no way of leaving the hotel since none of the other metered tuks and ride booking services are not allowed ) and had to book a cab again from the place i dropped off . I really love this place and want to come back again but i would think twice if i don't have a ride to go back home so i kindly request if you could take immediate action regarding this so that in the future no one would face such issues . Thank you very much . Read less

Me and a bunch of my friends stayed here spending one night on full board in a superior room which is the standard type at this hotel I believe , room was neat , tidy and spacious however bathroom amenities can be improved . Also we didn’t receive room service during our stay at all which needs to be looked at seriously . The pool was quite huge but can get overcrowded over peak weekends which is normal for any hotel , so I suggest you either plan out during off peak or go on a weekday . The main highlights were the buffets , fabulous I would say , even though there are Long queues the food was amazing and worthwhile . Personally one of the best buffets I’ve experienced in terms of variety and food quality . The area where you get to serve deserts is size of a room itself , wow yes it was . That Concluded my review , Hope it was helpful . Cheers ! Read less
