I choose this Hotel going on reviews on Trip Advisor and how wrong i was to do so. I would say that in all the Hotels we have stayed at in many places this ranks as probably the worst. We booked a Club Suite and after looking at the room and discovering faults and omissions complained and were moved into the Suite next door. All this took place in our first hour at the Hotel, not a good experience for a supposed 5 Star Hotel. I found the food at the restaurants to be frankly disgusting. We dined at the Nautilus one evening and the service was that bad I complained bitterly to the staff and the the Hotel management. We went once more when our butler looked after us and the service was better but the food still not so good. If you do not choose from the buffet I would give the presentation of the food full marks but zero for taste. Just about all of the meats served are overcooked and the fish overcooked and dry. The vegetables were under cooked to the point where you could not cut them with a knife. The saving grace of the meals were the Starters the Soups and the deserts which were all quite good. We were on an all inclusive package but mostly drank the house white wine at lunch and dinner which was okay. You had to ask for a large glass of white wine all the time or you just got about two inches in the bottom of a red wine glass. We could have tried some of the other wines on offer which you have to pay for but i object to paying £36.00 for a wine I can buy in the UK for £6.00. I booked this holiday for my wife's birthday and would like to thank the Hotel for decorating our suite and arranging a Birthday cake at dinner. The waiters sang happy birthday which was nice but they got the name wrong. I will not go into problems that were outside the control of the Hotel due to the Covid-19 outbreak but i do feel that thing could have been made better for the small amount of guests that remained. My wife and I have just returned from a holiday to the Blue Water Hotel and Spa. It should have been 21 nights however we did have to leave early due to the worsening worldwide health issue. I don't think I have enjoyed a holiday as much. The hotel room we had was a club suite which are fantastic rooms, huge bathrooms, a large dressing area which keeps the room free of wardrobes etc. There is also a large sitting area and a very large furnished balcony. The food was wonderful, well presented and not repetitive. There are a number of eateries and one is called Nautilus. The service and food is particularly well presented and served however we did find the menu a little boring however I do recognise that not everyone wants spicy food and there is a need for a " Meat and two veg" restaurant. During the last part of our stay the island was subject to a curfew which meant that the staff on duty could not go home. The service did not falter and they really looked after us. In the first couple of weeks we used the Hotel tour desk to arrange trips and although I did not get the name of the delightful young lady who worked there, I have to commend her for her help and attention to detail. One other member of staff who was of great assistance to us is Ajith. He was one if the butler staff and also worked in other areas of the hotel. He really made us very welcome and looked after us. We will definitely be back to Sri Lanka and to the Blue Water Hotel once its safe to travel again. Read less

I was glad to see Kumarie and as always, she shined like a star with her charm and efficiency. An asset indeed. The service was excellent. I must say that the quality of the food has even improved for the better. When I sat in the area where the band was playing, I realized how immaculately well this hotel is maintained. The minimalistic decor, carefully chosen, still stands out as unique. I just love this place. I can get lost in my thoughts and forget the rest of the world. The Club Suits were the same beautiful, airy, comfortable and super clean rooms. Will always love this place :) ps: this time I experienced the absolutely amazing dancers which gave a cultural feel. I am a frequent visitor to Blue Water. In September 2019, I conducted an in-house training program for 32 persons and we all stayed there for two nights. In March 2020, I went there on a private visit with my wife. As usual, the quality of service, room, and food were excellent. I will certainly go again when in Sri Lanka.
