We stepped in to meet a guest and afterwards decided to grab a beer at the pool bar. It was a great idea because the beers were icy cold and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The service was very fast and the prices are reasonable too. Will for sure visit again and will stay longer :)

We stayed on a 14 night All Inclusive basis in the Club Suite in middle of September 19. On the day of arrival we were rather confused re our welcome and explanation of our package, however this was soon corrected with an apology as we had been provided information on the non Club Suite AI guests. The Club Suite was beautiful and well laid out and decorated, the views of the grounds and ocean were a delight each morning and late evening as be sat on the balcony. Our room boys ensured our room was cleaned and mini bar restocked daily and that all our personal belongings were looked after. Laundry Service is a must and reasonably priced. The staff at this hotel are so attentive and energetic and will go out of their way to please you. Our butler Ajith always greeted and welcomed us each time we saw him, such a lovely person who takes care of you with dedication and passion. Ajith, thank you, you are a credit to Blue Water! I would also like to add that we also had lovely warm welcomes each evening or lunch time we visited the Porthole Bar from every member of staff on duty. The food served within buffet, at the Nautilus and Clipper is just delicious and if your a fussy eater or with special dietry requirements, the chefs and staff are only too happy to accommodate. We had an amazing time and met with some lovely local families who visited this hotel and weekends. Watching the children learn to swim was a pleasure although my 'heart was in my mouth' at times as little ones show no fear of danger. (Anyone visiting from UK, can I ask you perhaps take the odd pair of swim bands for pool boys to give to local children) The pool boys were always ready and available to prepare your selected space at the pool. Thank you boys, you really are a dedicated team. So to the backroom staff to General Manager, you should all be proud at having a great rapport. We enjoyed this place so much that we just booked to return on the 14th November 2019 for another 2 weeks in Club Suit. (Room 408 please) See you all in 5 weeks. M&M XX Read less

There are not may tourists currently staying in Sri Lanka following the Easter bomb attacks, but we felt completely safe . Thank you Blue Water for a wonderful holiday: we were very sad to leave and hope to be back some time next year Read less

Stayed at the Blue Water Hotel from 11th to 21st September. The staff were the most helpful and pleasant I have ever come across, they just couldn’t do enough to make your holiday special. Our room was large and very well equipped with sea view. Comfortable bed and soft pillows we slept very well. The food was good with plenty of variety in the buffet and we particularly enjoyed lunch at the pool bar. The selection of drinks on the all inclusive was good my only criticism was that there were no diet drinks available in the soft drink selection something I felt they could perhaps address in the future. The bar staff were excellent and it was always service with a smile. The pools were kept very clean and the pool attendants were very good and always came quickly with towels for the sun beds. The hotel was not very busy due most probably to the terrible attack in Columbo at Easter and people not yet returning to Sri Lanka. At weekends locals were able to stay and benefit from the lovely facilities. We never felt at all unsafe during our holiday. The grounds were large and beautifully kept. We were not bothered by beach sellers at all. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel and Sri Lanka. Read less

We spent my birthday weekend enjoying an all-inclusive mini-break at The Blue Water, Wadduwa. It was a longer drive from the airport than we'd anticipated, and the start of their New Year celebrations, so traffic was manic - we were very happy to get out of that car! The hotel and grounds are tranquil and picturesque. Our room very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The only slight problem was with the lock on our door, which sometimes worked and sometimes didn't, but maintenance were very quick to send someone up to look at it - even if they didn't manage to fix it long-term. The buffet was small but the food was all utterly delicious - I've never eaten so many variations of dhal! And they bake their own gorgeous bread, so breakfast was a real treat! Because it was their New year, alcohol was not permitted out in the open on our second day, but the hotel were great about providing it through room service, for those on all-inclusive packages. We were checking out on my birthday, but they very kindly presented me with a birthday cake at breakfast! I was too full of their delicious bread to eat any then, but they kept it in the fridge for me until we returned from our morning's excursion at lunchtime. The staff were all very friendly, and it was a very relaxing weekend. I'd definitely stay there again. Read less
