Maroma Beach is situated on one of the most pristine and famous beaches in Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula. Close proximity to Mayan archeological sites and eco-adventure parks. 15 minutes from Playa del Carmen. Transfer time from airport: 30 minutes.

We stayed at other Secrets properties (Akumal Mexico, Papagayo Costa Rica), so we had high expectations of what Secrets Maroma had to offer. The service was exceptional, the food and cuisine variety was delicious, and the rooms were cozy. Before the trip, we heard that Maroma's beach was top notch, which we found to be true - unlike the other beaches in the area, Maroma had minimal seaweed. We also visited the fitness center, which had a variety of workout equipment, but could feel a bit cramped. Our only hesitation was the "timeshare talk," which was our experience at the other AM Resort locations. At check-in, we were approached to discuss the various upgrades through UVC; however, we voiced that we were not pleased with our previous experiences, and surprisingly, the representative did not push us further. The only other downside, if any, to this property is that the layout wasn't as romantic or isolated(?) as Secrets Akumal. Rather than a more intimate setting, Secrets Maroma had a more open central area, which felt more geared toward larger groups (i.e., friends/family trip, wedding). We could hear music from our partial ocean view room that faced the central resort area, which may or may not be an issue depending on the type of sleeper you are. If you're looking for a great all-inclusive resort for a group of people with a fantastic beach, Secrets Maroma is for you! Read less

You are welcomed home by all the employees and greeted with smiles and good days from everyone. Our check in was a breeze and our room was ready upon arriving, we met with our incredible concierge Roger. I cannot begin to tell you how amazing Roger is. He attends to every need of every room with class and dignity. His smile is warm and welcoming and after speaking to Roger you know you are in great hands. Roger is the person in life you want to spend your time around as he makes the world a better place. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. You are able to unpack and be home for a week, turn down service & house keeping were wonderful. Pool was clean with a tremendous amount of activities to do. Beach was pristine and the staff was incredible. We reserved beach cabanas for 3 days and our beach concierge Fransisco greeted us with a smile every single day, his laugh is contagious. Fransisco went above and beyond every single time we were on the beach. He made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves, always asking what can i do for you to make your day better. Fransisco well done my friend. Our two servers were Marvin & Balbina, always present always willing to help ensure we didnt have to move from our beach chairs. They always presented us with new drink ideas to try or if we wanted something different for lunch it was never an issue. Restaurants and night entertainment were perfect, men bring a pair of slacks. High light of the trip was the lobby bar silent DJ night. Everyone dancing around listening to head phones was priceless. Preferred club now has an outdoor bar and restaurant (breakfast and lunch) with a fire pit on the beach. Full bar top shelf liquor. Wow. Just returned from 8 nights at Secrets Maroma. Fantastic resort. First time there. We’ve been to many Secrets over the past nine years and both my husband and I rank Maroma #1 overall. In particular, the entire staff, including cleaning crews, Entertainment team, pool and restaurant wait staffs, UVC staff, store staff, all were so friendly and helpful. It’s hard to explain. Secrets resorts are typically great, but there’s a difference at Maroma. All workers we interacted with went a little further. More helpful, caring, responsive to us. Mentioning this to other guests consistently got the same reaction. The employees go a step above. But I would be remiss to not name some specific people. Six of us had breakfast together each morning at the Preferred Beach Club. GREAT food, excellent service. In particular, Jordan, Carlos, Manny, Richart and Alfredo were amazing, professional, friendly, and attentive. For example, after our first day eating there, whichever one of these men waited on us, they brought our six different drinks to our table as we were seated. So impressive. Just returned yesterday from a blissful week at this hotel. We travelled as a large family group of 11 and there is something for everyone. From the moment you arrive you are truly looked after in this stunning resort. The rooms are beautiful with everything you need (towels replaced twice daily, room cleaned and mini bar refilled daily). The pool area is spacious with plenty sunbeds (we got 11 together every day) and the beach & sea are paradise! All the restaurants are good, we especially loved the Teppanyaki restaurant for it's entertainment value. All the staff are lovely and helpful especially the concierge and entertainment team. From constant drinks brought to your sunbeds to having your sunglasses cleaned daily all make for a perfect relaxing holiday. Plenty of activities throughout the day and lots of food choices around the pool keeps everyone happy! If I was to have any negative comment (and it really is the only one) it would be that as a party of 11 it could be tricky to get a table in the evening together as they don't allow pre-booking. However, we explained that as a family we really did want to eat together so the concierge managed to arrange this for us with the restaurants on a daily basis if we were flexible on times.
