The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is one of seven emirates, which together comprise the federation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The federation was established on December 2, 1971, which included Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Qawain and Fujairah - Ras Al Khaimah joined the federation in February 1972.

Best reached via a traditional wooden abra boat along the Dubai Creek, you can immerse yourself in the winding alleyways of the Bastikia Quarter. Make sure visit the various souks that specialise in spices, gold or textiles and haggle for some great prices.
