Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara

Abu Dhabi, Middle East

The hotel

An oasis of luxury spectacularly located in the beginning of the Empty Quarter, the world’s largest uninterrupted sand desert. Magical doesn’t even begin to describe the Anantara Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort, there’s an almost mystical quality to it, making it a superb choice for that special occasion – a honeymoon perhaps or a special anniversary? Sun soaked dunes provide a dramatic backdrop, admire them from the sun deck that surrounds the swimming pool. Like the bedouin, camel riding is the way to explore. Alternatively, hop on-board a 4x4 for a spot of dune driving or find your way round by bike. The amenities at the Anantara Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort are as mind-blowing as the destination itself. There is everything you could possibly want for an indulgent week or two. For a start, the suites and rooms are considered amongst the finest in Abu Dhabi, featuring rich interiors and breathtaking desert views. A state-of-the-art fitness centre, tennis courts and the Anantara Spa await you also and, if you’ve children with you, they’ll love their very club, one aimed at younger kids, the other specifically for teens. There are four dining venues in total, each one offering an extensive range of Middle Eastern dishes as well as gastronomic experiences from around the globe – reserve yourself a table and enjoy!

I have never written a review on a hotel I have not stayed in. But Covid19 made impossible our long waited trip. Qasr Al Sarab customer service overcame all difficulties to refund our booking. Thank you very much, we have not given up to visit Qasr Al Sarab in a better future. Superb service, superb resort.

This desert in south Arabia peninsula, locally named as Rub al Khali, Is probably one of the most scenografic in the World. The great UK explorer Wilfred Thesiger crossed it on 1945 by Camels and wrote a wonderful book: Arabian Sands. You can rent a Car in Abu Dhabi or Dubai and in a few hours drive easily to the resort, that appears as a mirage to the guests. It is obviously really expensive but i can assure that you will remember forever. You must take the escursion in the desert at the sunset by camel with a final tea in the Middle of nowhere on the edge of a sand dune... Coming back to the resort you can also Surf the high dunes by a wood provided to the guests ...and dine in a beduine camp under the stars , beside the resort. One SPA, a wide swimming pool, tennis courts and several restaurants complete the amenities of this paradise by Anantara luxury chain. Birthday drinks amounted to 2 bottles of Lebanese lager and a couple of mojitos… Read more
