We had a great time at this hotel. The rooms were great and the staff all lovely. It had everything we needed for a great family holiday. Saadiyat beach is gorgeous and this was definitely the best value hotel in that area.

We arrived after an overnight flight from London - arriving at the hotel at 9am, check in is set for 3pm. We were greeted at reception and asked to go and have breakfast and a look around the facilities whilst they tried to get us into a room earlier - they took my mobile number and within an hour we had a room. We had some issues with the first room - A/C did not work, it was also a disabled room, so it had a wet room which left water everywhere, however once notified of the issues we were moved to another room with a sea view. We had many interactions with the staff over the 10 days we were there, an in general all of the staff had a smile on their faces and made you feel welcome. Some of the staff that left a lasting impression - Paul who helped us move rooms, very quick witted and friendly, Krishna in the restaurant, this guy goes above and beyond, he remembered our coffee order and that our daughter Sarah liked Apple juice and from the very first day made sure we had that at breakfast, he also worked very hard all of the time - the hotel have a real good guy on their hands in Krishna. The guys and girls on skates by the pool did not stop - wow, they were brilliant and I am sure made sure everyone had a great time round the pool and always had a drink! Finally, the staff at Rixos were incredible. Our daughter Sarah went there quite a few times and she was made to feel very welcome an involved all of the time - the manager of the kids club was an absolute pleasure to talk to, as were the other staff, who were always smiling, and always working hard to make sure the kids were having a great time and the parents could enjoy themselves. Sure there are still some teething issues in the hotel - not everything was perfect all of the time, but when is life ever perfect - In the grand scheme of things the hotel and the staff do an amazing job of ensuring you have a great holiday! Where should I start? I will be honest the negative reviews as our vacation was approaching was slightly alarming, however from the moment I checked in to checking out, 9/10 from the service, to the food, atmosphere, location, it was absolutely brilliant. We stayed at the hotel for 13 nights, everybody was friendly except for the managers which I will get to later. A massive shout out to Herman and Hassan at the entrance for their excellent care and help during our entire trip. At the turquoise restaurant, we only attended breakfast and lunch, Krishan would spot me a mile away and ensure our regular table was ready and always carried a smile. Everybody who worked there, are hardworking and every smiling, therefore even if I had to wait for a table or for the table to be cleaned, I had no complaints because I know how hard the job can be. During the day we would spend most of our time at the pool side or the beach, Winnie (Woyne) made sure we were comfortable and checked on us daily. We always had the same pool bed with a perfect view of the hotel and the beach. Speaking about the pool, the all inclusive package is mind blowing, I got the opportunity to try my favourite cocktails and new ones, no need to exaggerate but Mr Chintakka makes better cocktails than the best bars in London. Jerby was another favourite of mine, he always took care of us at the pool and the lobby bar, he would jump in to help us whenever needed. As a bar captain he is doing an amazing job especially on his own overviewing several bars. In the evenings we tried most of the restaurants, which were good overall. The architecture of the hotel was beautiful, every detail reflects the countries culture and feels like 101 arabian nights as my mother put it. Our room was absolutely gorgeous, we actually got upgraded to a premium suite with pool access. The rooms are massive and the hotel didn't forget one thing, definitely 5 stars, there were ear buds which i have never ever seen available at other 5 star hotels. Our room was cleaned everyday between 11am and 1pm as upon request, and i have no complaints at all. Overall Abu Dhabi is a beautiful city, we saw everything, not to mention we saw Dubai, Al Ain, Fujjrah, Sharjah and Oman. Absolutely a mind blowing place. Unfortunately every vacation has to come to an end, check out took less than 5 minutes and Dilush took care of everything. 10/10 for food, service, atmosphere, location and the lovely employees. However, the only issue i did have was with the managers, throughout my entire stay, i just watched them walk around, chatting to eachother, no smiles, no communication with customers, therefore i personally think the hotel is doing great and others shouldn't be negatively impacted when at the end its the managers responsibility. Towards the end of the last week, the assistant manager for entertainment (Mr Onka (I hope I spelt that correctly) spoke to me and he was graceful, for our last 3-4 days he checked up on us and had a chat, which i wished from the others rather than walking around pointless. Would definitely recommend the hotel especially for families with children, but for couples, trust me the other reviews are not even close to what was written, the hotel is not loud and if you prefer a queit area or more private, theres a massive beach!!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!! Sameera Deen (ROOM 1237) Read less

Our rooms were next to each other as requested and had everything we could possibly need. Drinks and snacks in the mini bar were stocked every day. The pools were spotlessly clean and a lovely temperature. Our children enjoyed playing in the water park and wavepool. The activities were great for adults around the main pool, Nalin was very friendly and the ladies organising the fitness were very professional. It would have been nice to have some activities for children in the main pool. The food was of a super standard, we booked restaurants for several nights. Be sure to book as soon as you arrive as they do appear to get booked up. Read less

We bought an all inclusive to Rixos for the family with expectations of every all inclusive, a mad buffet, stuff to entertain you and a relaxing week away. To an extent that is what we got. Pluses Staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble and they are all so helpful and kind. The sports team were great from Yoga to my first go at Aqua Fitness (you have to do it). The food in the buffet was really good especially the Indian food!! Always a lot of choice. Drinks were good and always on hand, the skaters bringing to your sunbed a bonus. The rooms were comfortable You walk into reception it feels 5star Negatives Hotel is new so it is ironing out the crinks such as getting a room together when you arrive even though they know you needed an extra bed. Took 1 hour to arrive Pool is too small for the number of rooms, next door they have a pool x4 the size Rooms are too small, quite cramped. We were told we were upgraded which I think was to see the sea. But it didn’t feel like an upgrade. The rooms are not 5 star, but just for simple things. Plastic toilet seat. The moving bathroom wall is good but making it glass means you wake everyone up with a bathroom visit in the morning else find your way in the dark. Entertainment could be better Perhaps the biggest gripe the ala carte restaurants and booking them does not work. You need to be able to book them each day and staff them to cope with a full restaurant. We found booking a restaurant difficult with kids as we could only get 9:15 and that is just too late for them. But for all this our stay has been amazing. The issues will get sorted and perhaps build another pool in front of Aja. Thanks for the hospitality and the way you looked after our kids. Very rested and look forward to returning with the issues ironed out. Read less
