The hotel

Part of the magnificent resort of Madinat Jumeirah, Dar Al Masyaf translates as ‘summerhouses’ with accommodation arranged in the style of exquisite Arabian courtyard houses. At the centre of each villa is a shared traditional Arabic courtyard and guests enjoy privileged access to a private pool when staying in Arabian Summer Houses, situated away from the main pool. Other highlights include over 2 km of private sandy beach and complimentary access to the Wild Wadi Waterpark™. Guests can travel by water taxi (Abra) to Al Qasr, Mina A’Salam, Al Naseem, the award-winning Talise Spa, the bustling Souk Madinat Jumeirah and one of the many restaurants.

Where is it

Situated in the Jumeirah area conveniently located for access to Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City, the Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina. Madinat Jumeirah is adjacent to the Burj Al Arab Jumeriah, Wild Wadi Waterpark™ and Jumeirah Beach Hotel, and is 10 minutes by car to the nearest shopping mall with complimentary shuttle bus service. At the heart of the resort is the Souk Madinat Jumeirah – a traditional Arabic retail and dining experience. Transfer time from Dubai International Airport: 35 minutes.

Hotel information

29 summerhouses and 283 rooms. All with air-conditioning, private furnished balcony or terrace, satellite TV with video and music channels, telephone, high-speed Internet access*, tea/coffee maker, mini-bar*, safe, hairdryer, iron and board. There are 2 types of house to choose from – Gulf and Arabian, Gulf houses offer superb access to the beach. Each house offers between 8-11 luxurious self-contained guest rooms, each with a personalised butler service and complimentary sunset happy hour (6:00pm-8:00pm) including soft and alcoholic drinks. All rooms have 1 king-size bed or twin beds (subject to availability) plus an existing sofa bed (120cm x 180cm), sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (under 12 years). Arabian Summerhouse Deluxe rooms are situated within the resorts gardens.


Half Board option: includes buffet breakfast at your property, plus a choice of lunch or dinner which is available on a dine-around basis at a selection of over 40 restaurants within the Jumeirah resorts: Madinat Jumeirah, Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. Transport is not included. 

Please note: some restaurants require a supplement fee.

Gulf Summerhouse Arabian Deluxe and Gulf Summerhouse Ocean Deluxe rooms are accessible through a secluded garden courtyard and offer access to the private beach.

Arabian Summerhouse Arabian Suite has a separate lounge, dining area and lush garden and waterways views.

Gulf Summerhouse Arabian Suites and Gulf Summerhouse Ocean Suites are also available.

Complimentary access to Wild Wadi Waterpark™. 

There are over 30 world-class restaurants, bars and lounges located within the Jumeirah resorts, all for you to enjoy.

A little late writing my review however our second visit was just wonderful. Peaceful, tranquil and beautiful. Food throughout Madinat is exquisite and the staff our wonderful. DAM is our preferred place to stay, the new style rooms are gorgeous & the butlers are amazing. Can’t wait to return!

I am writing this review to highlight the excellent service, impeccable follow up and high professionalism shown by Mr Fayez Kelada from the Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf team. Every year, our group Chairman along with his wife and some board members, visit Dubai and choose Dar Al Masyaf for their stay. Our guests always express some important wishes for their and insist on having their requirements met. Although the difficulties that it may generate, Mr Fayez for the second year in a raw has shown a high level of professionalism and did the maximum to meet our guests’ expectations. He has been working on this booking continuously and for a long time. Even during his absences sometimes he maintained a very close follow up and regular update. I don’t normally write reviews but we just got back from a stay at Dar al Musyaf and we absolutely loved it. Not only are the renovated villas beautiful and spacious, the whole property/area of madinat Jumeirah is just wonderful, beautiful and filled with all kinds of options for dining, activities etc. The people were all incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to be courteous to us, kind to our family (especially our kids) and made us feel so welcomed. Didn’t meet a single person who worked there that did not say hello, smile at us, ask us if we needed anything etc. I have to specifically mention Brian from villa 19. Not only is he such a great, kind man, but he truly made our stay magical. From making sure my son’s birthday was celebrated with a delicious cake and a birthday sign in our room, to putting beautiful flowers in our room for my wife, he just went above and beyond. I also just enjoyed chatting with him during the daily happy hour. Had some great conversations. I felt as though I was chatting with a friend I’ve known for a long time. That guy is a legend who is great at his job and deserves to be recognized! Thank you so much Brian! Additionally, we loved the kids club there and felt like the staff went above and beyond to make sure our kids were having fun, didn’t overdo it with video games (!), and most importantly, were safe. Marina in particular made us feel so welcomed and at ease and also deserves to be recognized! Our kids loved it and really warmed up to her - even my two year old took a liking to her and she’s usually pretty reserved. Also want to mention Wallace at the front where the cars/taxis come in. Just such a lovely, friendly guy that always made us feel Like we were returning home, and was always so helpful.
