The Oberoi Beach Resort Al Zorah

Ajman, Dubai Beaches and beyond

The hotel

Something of a statement, The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah is both a chic holiday hideaway, and a sculptural landmark worthy of a Turner prize. Reclining along a postcard-perfect sweep of white sand in Al Zorah (a one million square metre patch of protected forest in Ajman), this retreat is as contemporary as they come, with its crisp wooden pool deck, geometric take on Middle Eastern fretwork, and oversized walls of windows taking in sumptuous sea views. It’s not just contemporary in style though, with its luxury villas featuring private pools and space to socialise, its Oberoi Spa rivalling any urban health retreat, the straight lines of its 85 metre pool designed to be seductively sleek, and its dining venues ticking off all those modern favourites, like tapas, bento boxes, sushi, cocktails, responsibly sourced seafood, and gourmet gastronomy.

We have stayed here a handful of times (they did a great summer offer last year) and typically the resort is very quiet. With the restriction on travel many more people are doing staycays so it was quite busy this time. The pool loungers were completely full (but spaced out accordingly) and there were lots of kids. The rooms and staff were fantastic as always though, and we loved our room at the end of the hall though - had a great large balcony. Overall I think for now it's a place to visit during the week to avoid the crowds and kids. Read less

My happy journey started with Mr Waly from sales and Mr Ahmad from bookings. Check in was very professional and fast . We stayed in the 3 bedroom villa which is absolutely amazing! Very spacious, clean, modern and has everything you need and you don’t need! The food in Vinesse restaurant is very tasty ( yet a bit pricy, thankfully we took the half- board deal in advance) and I would like to thank Ms Shutri the Resturent manager, angel and Tosha for being extra nice and super attentive. It was our first experience with the Oberoi and it won’t be the last! Read less

We went for what was meant to be a one night staycation and ended up extending for another as we had such an amazing experience and did not want to go back home! All the staff were extremely attentive and what amazed me throughout the stay is how "safe" we felt despite the pandemic. Every staff member kept their mask on without constantly touching it which indicated significant etiquette training on behalf of the Hotel's management. I really cannot emphasise the importance of the staff's commitment to everyone’s safety and the level of reassurance it gave us. The Oberoi team really thought of every little detail…. We were extremely impressed at how the valet warmly greeted at the entrance and then guided us to park the car ourselves. As I pulled out my disinfecting wipes to clean the seats on the buggy that would take us to reception, the driver kindly reassured me that the buggy was sanitised in advance of our use! We had a premier garden room and it was super (picture of the view included). The room was extremely spacious in comparison to other hotels we stayed at in the UAE. The teams for dinner and breakfast at Vinesse were also exceptional and their service was impeccable. They were so kind to accommodate us in our own area and agreed to take our orders in advance to so the food would be ready for the kids by the time we arrived for dinner (picture of the beautifully set dinner table waiting for us included). The teams’ attention to detail really struck the next day as they remembered our preferences and would prepare everything before our arrival to the restaurant. We really haven't felt such personal service and so genuinely cared for at a resort in ages. Their small, subtle touches left such a positive impact on our entire experience. The attentive service also continued at the pool and beach, where we were constantly supplied with cold water and refreshing fruit popsicles. A BIG THANK YOU goes to everyone at the Oberoi who took such wonderful care of us and made our first step "back into the world" such an enjoyable experience after all the fear and stress we had been through the last few months. We are already planning our next staycation there for July! Read less
