The view is very nice if you are on the beach side. The pool and gym are modern. Overall enjoyable but too crowded. Service is good but below some other hotels in Dubai in that price range. A bit pricey for what you get. Would still recommend if you are a family.

Hotel is old but the room and facilities are well maintained. Nice beach, pools and especially the brand new water park. We got exceptional service from Damaciano Fernandes at the beach area throughout the trip. Foods at the beach are with less variety, this is the only point we recommend to improve.

Great hotel; especially the use of the waterpark made us decide for this hotel. Great thing is that we could eat at the Westin hotel facilities as the service in the meridien hotel bars was not as we usually have experienced in le royal Meridien Grand next door a few weeks ago (without kids 😃) The half board option is great as the top quality restaurants allow you to eat from the same menu (some items have extra cost but I was happy to pay that; eg Oysters) Think that the tower they are building will replace the current older building; when yes I will definately come back. Gym is also great btw Read less

Frankly don’t know where to start from.. Experience was awful from the very first moment I walked into this very much dated property Given that I am currently a Titanium Elite and Ambassador for the past 4 years, I requested upon my booking a week before an upgrade to suite which was first granted and then cancelled the day before without any warning To be noted that I previously sent an email to the hotel management informing them that I was booking with points to celebrate my birthday with family.. Nevertheless while checking in, the South American lady at reception ( duty Manager at that time ) told me that since Suites are only 2, the upgrade was no longer possible and she could only offer a second floor corner room which was still to be cleaned ( at 6 pm ! ) She then told me that the lounge was also closed for maintenance and she would try to ask the nearby sister property Westin to make an exception allowing us to use it After 15 mins room was ready so we went upstairs and found the most miserable room with a corner wall ( corner means having a wider wall apparently in this property ) and a tiny balcony. Hard to describe how this place can be categorized as 5 star I then received a call from the lady at reception informing that Westin management declined the use of their lounge despite the unfortunate circumstances ( Before deciding to check out straightaway, I went for a walk to the nearby Westin to verify the lounge on floor 8 which was simply packed with family and screaming kids ( interesting admission criteria ) Walked back to reception, booked at nearby Grosvenor House hotel where instant upgrade was granted and moved out straightaway. In 25 years of being a loyal Starwood/Marriott high tier member, this was the first time in Dubai having such a disappointing experience where attention to customer was equal to ZERO Read less
