The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai

Dubai Beach, Dubai Beaches and beyond

The hotel

A gem of a hotel, the spectacular Ritz-Carlton, Dubai has a wealth of amenities. Guests can enjoy a total of six swimming pools, including two exclusively for children (happily set in the shade!) and one exclusively for adults. There’s a choice of rooms and suites, including Club rooms with access to the Club Lounge and extra benefits, all furnished to impeccably high standards, with private balconies facing the Arabian Gulf. Its Italian restaurant Splendido is something of a local legend, and there is also a contemporary Asian restaurant Blue Jade and a sophisticated lounge offering unique flavour combinations from around Asia! All of this, plus Amaseena, their magical tented Bedouin village, set right beside the sea and serving traditional regional specialities, to be enjoyed whilst listening to the haunting background strains of the oud and the tabla. As all first-class hotels in Dubai do, this hotel overlooks its own stretch of private beach, pristine white sands lapped gently by azure waters. A wonderful place to relax, topping up your tan perhaps, indulging in a variety of water sports or simply reading that book you’ve been wanting to for ages now! There are plenty of shaded areas too, private nooks to call your own, and unbeatable service from the La Baie Lounge. All of this, plus an indulgent spa, exciting kids club and a great location, ensures a holiday you’ll remember forever!

Love this Hotel, 3rd time visiting and never actually look anywhere else. Staff are exceptional and give off friendly vibes, they converse with you and are always going above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Most staff have been there over the years I’ve been going. Hotel has that old traditional feel to it but still oozes luxury and you actually feel privileged to be staying in it. It may be older than the swanky hotels shooting up everywhere in Dubai but their valves are old fashioned in a good way The food is fantastic and restaurants are great Hate to say this but had two tiny niggles this year Caravan restaurant - best breakfast I’ve ever had but they have started doing dinner. We went once and was thoroughly disappointed. Didn’t feel there was a great choice in the international food so much so I had to ask the kind chef to make me a pizza as I didn’t like anything else. The only dish without a sauce was lamb which I don’t like. There wasn’t a great choice of starters either - at breakfast there’s a wide selection of fish. I was looking forward to seeing that at night but there was nothing remotely similar. There was only two members of staff clearing tables who seemingly kept disappearing - we had to remove our plates ourselves after courses. As I said breakfast 1st class but dinner is disappointing Club Lounge - We always go to the Club Lounge but this year there was a few changes. Staff always advise on evening attire, collared shirts, dress shorts / trousers, no flip flops etc. On a previous visit our dress discrepancies were pointed out to us, despite being reminded of dress code on arrival and made a conscious effort to follow rules it was noticed this wasn’t being honoured with other guests which seemed a bit unfair. Don’t mind sticking to rules but seems they only apply to certain people. Another gripe, I witnessed on two occasions two separate groups of people accumulating glasses of alcohol then decanting them into the paper cups to take away. One guy was at the bar filling a paper cup of with Prosecco, gulping some out of it then topping up his paper cup again - priceless. I’m sure this isn’t the image the club would like to portray. It’s a great facility but I think some ground rules need to be made. Also on the website they indicate complimentary cocktails, when I asked for one I was advised they didn’t do them. Asked for some chambord to put in my Prosecco - couldn’t have any!! Special thanks to Guest Relation who issue a pre arrival email. Beautiful room was allocated together with a lovely cake, wine and flowers for our anniversary. Housekeeping - thanks for the lovely new animal friends made from towels. Hotel is great and staff are like friends would not hesitate to recommend this place despite my niggles Hope to be back soon Read less

Mr Jackson and his colleague in the lobby took an excellent care of me when I was at the hotel this week, suggesting teas, coffee and selecting the right cakes that are on display. I recommend this hotel not only for the service in the lobby, the in-room dining (Jeffrey) , the concierge, all the staff and the gentlemen at the door. Thank you! Badr B. Read less
