Jumeirah Creekside Hotel

Dubai City, Middle East

The hotel

When it comes to contemporary luxury, nothing compares to Dubai’s travel scene – and Jumeirah Creekside Hotel’s a case in point. It doesn’t rest on its location laurels (and, being five minutes from the airport, it’d be forgiven for doing so), it’s also created a world of exquisite dining and fantastical features – like its rooftop Cu-Ba, whose cantilevered pool juts into the lobby for dramatic views of the 24/7 check in and check out through its glazed floor. It’s not the only pool; with the lap pool and children’s pool popular hangouts when you’re not enjoying the unlimited complimentary access to Wild Wadi Waterpark™. Other exclusive extras include the Half Board dine-around programme, letting you chow down at more than 40 restaurants.

I booked the hotel for a three day break with my wife and daughter who were visiting from the UK. We used the hotel website to make the booking and checked all the notifications for the time of our visit and were happy and looking for three days relaxing by the pool with a good base for getting around Dubai in the evening. When we arrived and went to the pool there was some construction work ongoing to create a facility for an upcoming tennis event next door. The noise from the jack hammers was loud and at times continuous for many minutes making the environment unpleasant for relaxation purposes. I went to reception and asked why we were not informed of the work when checking in and was told by the receptionist she was unaware any work was being done at all. We were not notified on the original booking of the work or when checking in so our choice to relocate was effectively removed by this lack of transparency by the hotel. The noise continued on our second day causing us to leave the pool early due to the disturbance and was the topic of most of our conversation in the evening. On the third day we returned to the pool after being assured the noise would cease that day but sadly I’d did not so at lunchtime we gave up, packed up and decided to do something else. I complained to the management team about the stay and was given a meeting from someone “representing” the Operations Director as the manager was too busy to see me, Andy someone. I requested that my accommodation costs be repaid, not food and beverage as they were good and not an issue and was not given an answer from the representative as he had no authority to agree to this. Of the two rooms booked for three nights I was given one of the rooms free for my inconvenience which was almost like the organisation only accepting blame for 50% of the problem, meaning the other half was my fault ? I did not accept this offer but was told that was all I would get and my accommodation bill was halved before I checked out. Summary : A beautiful hotel in a great location spoiled by management who have no foresight in terms of customer expectations (who wants to pay money to relax on a building site), disgraceful communications by not giving me the chance to go elsewhere and their own staff being unaware of the work and most disappointing the importance of my complaint being dismissed by the arrogance of a general manager who felt it appropriate to only accept half the liability for something he created and did not inform me of. Suffice to say Jumeirah Creekside Hotel has lost any future business from me, only due to the poor customer service I received as opposed to the excellent quality of the building and facilities Read less

Ideally located close to the airport and Souks, which was very handy for short transfers & visiting the Souks. The hotel is well appointed, with imaginative design / layout of the bathroom facilities. Buffet breakfast had a very good selection.

Beautiful hotel with modern decor. Staff very friendly. Buffet breakfast had a wide range of fresh and cooked items. Hotel very close to airport which made it a great place to stop for our Dubai stopover. Hotel has shuttle to shopping mall and main attractions.

Lovely hotel with spacious and clean rooms and common areas but the hotel is not centrally located and surrounding area not really walkable so dining options are very limited. The shuttle service to the Dubai mall helps get you to a central location. Location Not ideal for a short stay tourist
