We were advised by our agent to give this resort a go.... First few days were a bit rocky, no one had advised that the airforce were training daily for a show. However, the hotel and our UK agent did try their very best to make a bad situation into a good one. The villa itself is nice and it is very private. I am convinced the designer of these villas has to be a man. There is no place to sit and blow dry your hair or do make up! The bidet, has no towel or towel rail. There is also no manual explaining where everything is. It took 2 days for me to realise where to plug in the hairdryer... (socket is in the vanity draw). As there is only one restaurant on site, I would have thought the menu would be more varied, with maybe specials offered daily. The physical menu itself is heavy, far too big and cumbersome. We experienced an in house dining, BBQ, this was exceptional, food was delicious and our chef and his waiter, made the experience perfect. I highly recommend if you stay here you do this. After speaking with the chef, he very kindly offered to prepare anything we liked the following day! Great asset to the team! For me breakfast is disappointing, the freshly squeezed juices, taste like a concentrate and all the fruits that look delicious have zero taste, very odd and not pleasurable at all. The music as well needs looking at. I have given up on breakfast. The Spa is the jewel in the crown, one of the best I have been too. The ginger, lemongrass and honey infusion recommended for my husbands cough really helped. One evening, we went to the sister hotel in the desert, for the effort to get there, I wouldn’t recommend, the food was so,so. What makes this resort is the staff. Always smiling, always helpful and willing to go the extra mile. The best has to be our 4 housekeepers, Josfin, Nazia, Thanush and Akhil. I want to take them home! They kept the whole villa immaculate, everything felt so clean and fresh. They were almost invisible, never intrusive whilst going about their duties. The most elegant thing in this resort has to be the flowers they left. Simply beautiful. Read less

Average rooms and Furniture, what did bother me is the villa entrance facing the bed so the butler must walk in front of the bed then to the room and the bathroom lacks the privacy and Convenient, neighbors privacy issue, noisy , and the the privet pool not so Elegant. And the inner dinning food tested awful. A disappointment for The Ritz.

To reach the resort you have a little boat ride, it’s exciting to head over to the island as it looks so beautiful. They also do a floating breakfast (picture below) this was just wow something I haven’t done before and loved it!! SATISFIED ☑️☑️☑️ Read less

The Ritz Carlton, Ras al Khaimah, Al Hamra is a comfortable hotel on a (private) beach in Al Hamra. It should not be confused with the Ritz Carlton, Ras al Khaimah, Al Wadi - that is in the dessert. From DXB it's approx. 75 minutes and 380AED in a taxi, subject to traffic. The concept is a boutique hotel with 30 or so individual tent style rooms with personal pool, cabana and garden area opening on to the beach. The lobby is a small building which is appropriate for its function of payment, and golf cart meeting point. Check in was efficient. Correct Bonvoy status recognition was made with a correct, proactive, platinum arrival gift, no enforcement of the immediate $100 cash penalty for failure to offer it was needed. A cold welcome towel and drink was offered on check in. We were taken to our room by golf cart, as it was late at night. There is a little boat that cuts the corner of the drive off if you wish to use it during the day. The room was normal. Proper writing / work desk. Sufficient available UK style 13A sockets. Different rooms have slightly different layouts. Sockets may be found in the bed sides (and USB), floor boxes and on certain walls. A socket for the hairdryer can be found in the drawer under the sink. Plenty of bottled water. Illy cartridge coffee machine. Good shower pressure and temperature. Bath robes and slippers. Room A/C poor - maintained 21C at night but 25c during the day with all blinds closed and doors shut. Outdoor patio good, although we had failed floor bulbs that apparently could not be replaced. Outdoor private pool very good. I did not use the outdoor shower. Housekeeping and turn down all correct. We had 2 rooms next to each other, with other rooms on either side. Unfortunately, the occupants of those other rooms chose to use Bluetooth speakers, outside, at full volume with various musical genres from Heavy metal, to dance, to Arabic. The hotel, very diplomatically, explained that due to the nationality of the occupants they couldn't do anything. Unfortunately, this noise pollution severely blighted our stay such that we will not be returning due to the possibility of ignorant neighbours. Given the type of resort, location and format of rooms, such noise pollution is unacceptable (to me). The main beach is empty, very quiet, immaculately groomed. There are some loungers by the communal pool, most people choose to use the loungers in their room cabana and walk onto the beach to go into the sea. Pay careful attention to which room is yours when heading out to the beach. All rooms look the same from the beach. There is a small room number on the cabana's ceiling leg. Transport around the resort is provided by golf cart, useful for the rooms located at the end of the L shaped drive. Very efficient, no waiting. The restaurant is fine for breakfast. The full buffet breakfast is probably better as you can choose what you want. When the hotel has lighter occupancy, it’s a la carte. The breakfast content is appropriate for the number of guests and good quality. The hot cooked food is to order and very good - I would suggest waiting with the chef to collect it yourself to avoid waiting and spoilage as the servers can be busy with other guests. The toaster has imbalanced side elements such that one side will be toasted whilst the other is warm bread. Dinner is ok, but nothing amazing, I personally wouldn't want to eat there more than twice. All staff were very polite and appropriately engaging and made an appropriate time of day greeting. But for the noise issue, absolutely great. Sadly, your relaxation may be under the control of other guests. Read less
