Meena, from Guest Relations took care of us from pre-arrival until our departure. She showed genuine interest in our experience and went out of her way to show us a good time. Chef Mohit made sure our Birthday weekend was memorable and took really good care of us. The food was incredible and the overall service at the restaurant was great, the foie gras and the 12 hour smoked short ribs are a must. We will definitely be back to try the destination dinning experience. Read less

We had a memorable stay at the Ritz Carlton in Geneva in June this year, so we were very excited to be celebrating our anniversary with 2 nights at the Ritz Carlton in Ras Al Khaimah. Upon checking in and after a few issues were sorted with villas, we finally settled into ours for the weekend. The villa has recently been renovated but kept to its original Arabic design. Consisting of a large bedroom...separate tv/sitting area which then opens up to your private patio with infinity pool overlooking the Arabian desert. The bathroom is quite large but ever so luxurious. We spent our time relaxing by the pool and enjoying the tranquility this place has to offer. It’s quite a large property and you have the option of dialing for a buggy service to drive you around or parked outside your villa, are your own bicycles to explore it all. The staff were exceptional...from the guys who drove the buggies to the restaurant staff. They were so friendly and always went above and beyond to make sure your stay was a comfortable one. So a big thank to all of them...it was greatly appreciated. We dined at the Farmhouse restaurant...simply wow! The food was amazing...the ambience was perfect and once again the staff were wonderful. As we were celebrating our anniversary, our waitress Joveti requested our wedding song to be played by the saxophonist. At that moment she brought out a small cake for us to cut...we will never forget it. That is what we call 5 star service! A big thank you to all the staff, for making it such a magical and memorable night for us. Please note that the resort is under renovations at the moment, which should be made aware to guests via their website. Cleanliness is an issue, as this was one of the reasons we had to change villas upon checking in. We addressed this with management initially and I hope the housekeeping manager will make improvements for future guests. Overall....we enjoyed our time at the Ritz Carlton. Read less

Everyone in the resort is very friendly . We arrived early in the morning , very early and the gentleman at the reception , Shihab, sorry forget how to spell his name , he is from Jordan, managed to get our room ASAP. Rita , the Chinese lady is very nice too! Wilson , Marina at the adventure center and other colleagues , Javie and his team at the stable are so nice. Javie took some of the great photos when we out hack together , and i got many compliments when I put the photos on my social media accounts ! And it is close to Chinese National day and the hotel presented us a very special cake with Chinese flag on it one day , and the other day was a cake for our wedding anniversary occasion. It is really touching and thoughtful ! The food is very good too and the staff at the restaurants are very attentive ! Minor problems about Villa 514, is the hot water running out of the shower head and tap is not hot enough. We called ppl to come in and fix it. They came and fixed one time , and later the problem came back again. We just can’t be bothered to ask again , so during 3 days/nights there, we had one good hot shower only. The rest is just , well, bearable. The quilt in the room is somehow too thick/warm, if we remain the air con on around 24 degrees to sleep, we end up waking up feeling sweaty with the quilt on. Maybe you can keep some blankets in the wardrobe so ppl can use them instead of the quilt. It was an awesome stay regardless of the minor problems and we enjoyed a lot with Ritz Carlton Al Wadi for our first dessert experience! Read less

Being the last stop on our mini ME tour and after staying at The Shangri-La in Muscat, Anantara Al Jabal Akhdar Oman and Mandarin Oriental Dubai, expectations were high on RC ending our trip. Unfortunately although all ended up OK and we enjoyed our time, The RC fell short of expectation and there is room for improvement. We booked through a tour op on Half Board. Bonvoy Platinum Elite membership added to booking tho no expectation of recognition as booking via 3rd party this is often the case ie. no Benefits or recognition. Received pre arrival email and hotel did recognise status which was good. Pre arrival email advised Upgrades were space available and advice given to book restaurants in advance on H/B which we duly did and all confirmed. On arrival, status acknowledged, advised hotel full so no upgrade - understood. Check in for formalities done in reception. Asked if we wanted to book restaurants for dinner. Advised we had already done this with Guest services pre arrival. Check in agent looked at my email trail only to advise restaurant we had booked 1st was actually closed and restaurant we booked for second night didn’t serve dinner? Ok, we asked to rebook into the open restaurants. Taken to the Al Rimal Pool suite we booked. Now there are two types of Al Rimal pool suite, one is ‘Enclosed’ and one is not. It wasn’t made clear to us there are two types of Al Rimal villa when booking (not RC fault) so be aware. We were allocated an enclosed villa and it was exactly that, enclosed on all sides, dark and basically dingy. No real view as trees covered the front outlook from pool with walls to both side, very unattractive and noisy air con units on one side plus a service road about 15 meters away with staff vans and trucks passing by from about 6am. No real sun apart from about 2 hours a day. Room was constantly dark with low level lighting. You really couldn’t see in the room. Apparently these room are popular with Arabic guests due the fact they are so enclosed etc - for me not. Unhappy, went to reception & asked to be moved. Agent advised hotel was full on arrival day but disappeared into the back. Returned 5 minutes later, apologised and offered to move us and upgrade us to Tented Pool villa due status the following day which I agreed to and this was an acceptable recovery in my opinion. So far so good tho thinking of it in hindsight they could have offered this on arrival like The St Regis Langkawi did on a prior visit giving guest the option to move to a better room when available if guests wanted it and to move. Dinner night 1 good at Moorish Arabic restaurant. Food very nice, service good. Travellers should note where possible take the H/B option as represents very good value for money. There are no menu restrictions or supplements, you can eat anything on the menu a la carte. Got up day two and nearly electrocuted myself unplugging the iron when the whole socket came off the wall in my hand! Breakfast in main restaurant is lovely with all you’d expect and service is good. There was an amazing lightening, rain and sand storm night before. Went to reception after breakfast to enquire when we could be moved. FOM Abbie came out to advise due sandstorm some of tented pool villas were damaged (which they were) and he would do his best to move us. This was a worry as didn’t want to stay where we were. I checked availability at RC at the beach which was selling rooms and said if they couldn’t move me within Wadi Desert can they move me to Beach. Abbie was very helpful and said he would check but he’d rather sort us at Wadi Desert. Leave it with him. Ok. Went back midday no news. Went back at 2 to be advised they had sorted it and we would be moved by 5pm and they would contact me. Ok. Went to main pool and waited. Had to check 3 times as no contact. At 4.45 contacted them again and advised room was ready. Shouldn’t have to constantly check. Got to Tented pool villa finally and it was and is lovely with great aspect, open, airy and light. Ok let’s start again! Thank you Abbie as I know you worked hard to sort this. Washed and changed went to dinner at The Farmhouse. When got there no reservation and told completely full! I explained about how all dinner reservations were screwed up by Guest Services and that reception had booked The Farmhouse for us. After 10 minutes they kindly found us a table. Went to the terrace and it was empty aside from two other couples?!? What? Food at The Farmhouse was excellent. Possibly the best rib eyed steak we’ve had for a long time. Service good once seated. Great value again on the H/B package. Top marks for The Farmhouse. Maitre D rebooked us for following night. Our final day was nice spending time at the villa. Electricity blew as a result of the iron but was fixed. Overall we had a nice stay but was marred by 1st room allocated & inefficient service like waiting an hour for ice and other issues mentioned with the exception of FOM Abbie who was on top of his game. The property is nice and there have been renovations are are renovations going on. It just felt a bit tired and creaky in places ie eg sockets coming off the wall, iron blowing the power etc. Public areas are spick and span. Unfortunately coming from the phenomenal Mandarin Oriental Dubai which is newly opened and has service down to a T already, RC fell short. Would I return? Yes as it’s serene and a lovely spot. moon bar for evening drinks is lovely and The Farmhouse is tip top, just book the right room and reconfirm your arrangements whilst on property & take half board. Many times to Dubai, always enjoy our visit. First time to The Ritz - Carlton Al Wadi Desert, Ras Al Khaimah. Stayed in a tented lodge with own pool, very nice, unique experience. Some attention to the cleaning of stains on furnishings, sun-umbrellas, cushions etc needed both inside and outside. Very friendly, welcoming staff across the nature reserve. Riding our bicycles to the delicious breakfast in KHAEELHA was a lovely way to start the day. Drinks in the open-air MOON BAR offer great views. Dinner in MOORISH is only of ok standard. Dining in the FARMHOUSE was better, the steak dinner was excellent but some dishes are very poor! The FARMHOUSE also offers a very good cocktail bar and cigar lounge. Several activities on offer: Hubby went to 'catch & release' fishing experience, I went in the lovely Spa. We both went to the Falcon display which was very good by the Zimbabwean Falconers. We both went Star Gazing viewing Jupiter and Saturn albeit the humidity was very high. Would recommend a visit for 2 or 3 nights as a different experience to Dubai. There were several families with young children on site and they seemed to be enjoying their stay too. Glad we went to visit albeit in September the temperature was around 38! Read less
