I had a wonderful experience at the bar last week with Matt C. He was very knowledgeable of the spirits and had great conversation of his travels. Will go back to sit at Matt’s bar.

Good service. Good food. A little pricey. Unfortunately they ran out of the buffet and prime rib by the time we got there.

We ate at Spencer's on Christmas Eve a few years ago, because it was the only reservation we could get. Same thing happened this year. There's the first sign. We arrived 30 minutes early. We were told that once the 7:30 reservations showed up, or didn't, they would try and seat us. Luckily there was space in the bar so we sat and had a drink, which was nice and fine since we were early. However, we were forgotten so we had to go back to the host stand after 8:00 to see if our reserved table was ready. Oh, yes, it was. Both at 7:30 and at 8:00 there were many open tables, but it would appear they didn't have the wait staff to service all of them. I can understand that, but then they shouldn't take any reservations they can't handle. The bartender in the bar was great, we should have stayed in there and let her serve us. My martini was fabulous! Our waiter, Dan (I think) did turn out to be good, but he was stretched too thin. The french onion soup was great, wine was great, but all of our steaks were chewy (sirloins) and very fatty (prime rib). We have tried twice now to eat here, and I think we're done since there are so many wonderful places in Breckenridge. Read less

I had to fill my tables water twice, ask another waiter for refills in tea, and wait for 12 minutes for a soda to be delivered. Our waitress did ask how things were, I relayed that my daughter was unhappy with her $19 sandwich! She said nothing and moved on. Really?!?!? and it remained on our bill. We were there for 1 hour. Our waitress seemed to find more time in clearing dirty tables, cleaning the tables and resetting for the evening meal. Read less

My family and I dined at Spencers on a Friday evening. We were seated promptly by a friendly face. We had high hopes we found a close by place to eat as we stayed at Beaver Run. Well we waites quite a while for a server to take our order. However they said thwy would comp our appetizer due to the wait. We thought that was pretty fair. We ordered our food and never received the comped appetizer, the halibut was so over cooked and sauce not on point that it was not even edible. The trout was decent and the kids mac and pasta was also non edible. So I strongly suggest skipping this place if you have any sort of pallet.anice Read less
