Basecamp Hotel

Heavenly, Lake Tahoe

The hotel

Effortlessly cool, Basecamp’s a playful take on a ski lodge, with its industrial fittings, dark colour scheme, reclaimed wood detailing, and oversized leather sofas adding a modern twist worthy of any interior design show. Social spaces include The Barn, hosting complimentary breakfasts, which opens onto the Beer Garden, where picnic tables and Adirondack chairs are the setting for craft brews, gourmet hot chocolate, games of ‘cornhole’, s’mores around the fire pits, complimentary WiFi, and seasonal communal dinners like chilli and fondue. Then there’s the Spa Deck, with its 16 seater hot tub featuring mountain views. As a ‘basecamp’, it’s geared up for winter and summer recreation – with free parking, a private beach, bike and ski kit storage, and a spot 4 minutes from Heavenly Mountain Gondola and 10 minutes from Lakeside Beach and Marina.

We’ve stayed at both Basecamp locations in Tahoe many times and it’s always a wonderful experience. The breakfast is filling, the rooms are clean and stylish, the locations are great, the hot tub is nice especially in South Lake. The beer garden in South Lake is the best!

With a very reasonable nightly rate, breakfast provided and a hot tub, how could I not recommend BaseCamp. A couple of years ago, I stayed in their North Lake Tahoe location, which was alsovery clean, unique and recommendable.

I'd seen Basecamp's awesome outdoor firepit area when staying at some of the other nearby hotels and decided to actually check it out. We were really impressed with the rooms and the woman who checked us in was pleasant. What really stood out was the on premise brewery with a nice selection of beers. The Horchata Stout is a must order if still in rotation. Also, the included breakfast bar was perfect for us there for a few days of snowboarding. Yogurt, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, from 6, AND Black Cabin Coffee! Highly recommended and we've already booked our next stay. Read less

Love the location, walkable to restaurants and there’s a brewery in the hotel. The brewery had a great selection of beer and food. Just across the street from Heavenly. Staff is great, friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, fun atmosphere. A great place to stay with a family and friends. Easy access to dining and playing outside with ping pong tables, corn hole and fire pits. I recommend it! It feels like a basecamp!
