Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe

Heavenly, Lake Tahoe

The hotel

Newly renovated to a rock and roll standard, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Resort is ideally placed in South Lake Tahoe to take advantage of just about everything! As well as a casino with slot machines and table games, it’s home to the largest outdoor pool in the area. Bag yourself a lounger, there’s plenty of them, and order a cool cocktail from the bar, soaking up the relaxed vibe. All the rooms are well equipped and spacious and there’s even an Elvis Suite. Yep, the great man himself stayed here whilst performing in the town in the 1970s and Hard Rock have come along and paid homage to that fact – as is only right! Other delights include the Park Prime Steakhouse, often home to live music and the Fire Break Kitchen & Bar. Center Bar is another place where live concerts are often held, full of cool blues and dramatic blacks; it’s a great place to while away an uber cool evening. Open 24/7 is The Oyster Bar, the first-ever raw seafood bar of its kind on the South Shore – chow down on fresh seasonal oysters as well as American classics such as gumbo, jambalaya and pan roasts. When you can tear yourself away from the hotel, the hiking trails are some of the most beautiful in the world – explore them on foot or reception will hire you a bike.

I stayed at the hard rock for a family vacation, during my stay i called the front desk to ask for more towels . The lady that i spoke to was very rude. I believe her name was marsha or michelle . Hospitality was very unpleasant

First of all, the bad reviews on this hotel are hilarious. WHY would you knowingly bring your family with kids to this hotel/casino, then proceed to complain about it? Its a CASINO, therefore people are going to be drinking and smoking. We had a great stay, the hotel is clean, staff is friendly and the whole vibe is great. The lake view was… Read more

Its a CASINO, therefore people are going to be drinking and smoking. We had a great stay, the hotel is clean, staff is friendly and the whole vibe is great. The lake view was amazing. Love all the memorabilia. The only downside was that we booked a room and requested a balcony. Upon check in, the nice lady at the counter said that our room did have a balcony. When we got up to the room, just a window :( When i called back down to the front desk, i was told that i could not switch rooms since they were at capacity. Not a huge deal, but was slightly disappointing, considering the balcony was part of the reason we booked at this hotel. Read less

Stayed 12/31/19-Never seen a hotel so understaffed where you expect to be busy, at the prices you have to pay you expect to at least see a valet/bell who gave a crap that you arrived to stay there. We waited & no one came. Front desk said they must be somewhere- They wont let you use a luggage rack, or even offer to hold your luggage till someone could help you. Our CHECK IN & CHECK OUT -NO one to help at all! OVER ALL WE WE UNHAPPY SO LEFT EARLY MORNING INSTEAD OF SPENDING THE WHOLE NEXT DAY ON PROPERTY AS WE PLANNED--On check out the staff we briefly saw out front would only say -"you cant park there"(Even with our handicap placard) when we wanted to park close to load luggage-instead of having to drag luggage all the way to the parking. We had to park far. SERIOUSLY!?!! *POOR QUALITY FOOD _ ALPINE UNION RESTAURANT- it was slow & service was SLOWER-Mac and cheese was cold, didnt want to say anything but cold cheese is not tasty. Then when they brought it back it looked like cheese soup! Being so hungry I ate part of-My Osso Bucco -an "Italian dish thats stewed in wine with vegetables" tasted like any roast pork with gravy on mash potatoes. showed my friends the osso bucco picture I had from one I had else where and they couldn't believe how plain my dish looked. *THE ONE VERY GOOD THING WAS THE MIDNIGHT FIREWORKS*- EVERYTHING else was NOT WORTH THE MONEY SPENT. This experience leave a very bad taste for this Brand & I worry they may be going down hill or our of business. Read less

I rarely write reviews. This hotel is filthy and vile. The elevators kept breaking down. Both my husband and I were stuck in the elevator on separate occasions. We also saw another elevator with doors half open/half closed in the lobby. No one from staff seemed surprised. When we told them to alert them they told us “this happens all the time in hotels”. Not in any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The hallways were filthy. We stayed over New Year’s eve and drunk patrons threw parties in their rooms and left beer cups, confetti, tissues and other things in the hallway. By the following night nothing had been cleaned up. The hallways wreak of pot. No one cares it’s a free for all of unsanitary, dirty bordello. Don’t come here as a family. Their clientele walks the hallways beers in hand smoking and everyone is carrying six pack to their rooms. When I was in the elevator with my son and drunk man stumbled in and almost fell on us. He looked half homeless, we had to get off on a random floor bc we feared our safety. They’re is no shuttle to Heavenly ski resort. They tell you that it’s a quick 6 minute walk to the gondola but it’s not. Not doable in ski boots. We booked this as a family trip to go skiing, it was a nightmare. This is not a family or ski resort hotel. There’s not part of it that is fun for kids (we were with teenagers). Stay away, save your money and go somewhere else. Read less
