Hotel Becket

Heavenly, Lake Tahoe

The hotel

Part boutique hotel, part ‘upcycled’ lodge, 968 Park Hotel’s every bit as rustic as it is luxurious. Handmade furniture fills the guestrooms – some made from Douglas fir rescued from an old Nevada mine. Your bedding’s anything but homespun though, with luxury mattresses and organic linens helping ease muscles tired from winter sports like skiing and snowshoeing, or from laps of the heated pool in summer. You get complimentary parking (and WiFi), but it’s just minutes’ walk from Lake Tahoe’s biggest draws: Heavenly Mountain Gondola, the Stateline casinos, and the shoreline. Whatever time you return, the CoffeePub will be open, with craft coffees or microbrews served 24-hours a day; but make sure you’re back in time for Friday night’s wine tastings with local vintners, followed by live acoustic music sessions.

If it were clean & cared for, this place would be phenomenal. Restaurant was amazing, check in was friendly and clear, bed was big and super comfortable but the cleanliness was terrible. I didn’t even want to use the bathroom. I won’t go into detail on the cleanliness issues. I hope they hire someone to do an evaluation of performance standards.

I spent $517 on for 1 night. It was dirty, stinky and musty. I didn’t see one cleaning staff the whole time I was there. The room I rented was below one star. The wifi sucked. I couldn’t get a signal. I do not recommend this hotel. The parking sucked. Was only 1 parking for disability! All the way in front of the hotel!!

Hotel Becket is located right across from Heavenly. It's an amazing location with lots around. The staff is personable and accommodating. Would definitely recommend staying here. It's close to Edgewood Tahoe and many restaurants, supermarkets and shopping. The beds are super comfy. Lots to do on the property.

Room are very old- needs updating and cleaning. The paint was chipping and windows needed to be replaced. Carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Location is the best part and beds were comfortable.

The rate to stay at this place during the 4th of July weekend was over $500 a night. Assuming it would be something similar to a room in Vegas, I thought nothing of it. The rate to stay at this place during the 4th of July weekend was over $500 a night. Assuming it would be something similar to a room in Vegas, I thought nothing of it. This property, however, was just a partially renovated motel (as it seems many in the area are) with none of the amenities you would expect to come for a hotel charging a similar rate anywhere else. The rooms were pretty bare-bones and in some disrepair. Carpet was torn up in some sections, fixtures were damaged or missing and the shower was like getting pissed on in a phone booth. Lesson learned on trying to stay in South Lake Tahoe during a holiday weekend. Read less
