Hotel Becket

Heavenly, Lake Tahoe

The hotel

Part boutique hotel, part ‘upcycled’ lodge, 968 Park Hotel’s every bit as rustic as it is luxurious. Handmade furniture fills the guestrooms – some made from Douglas fir rescued from an old Nevada mine. Your bedding’s anything but homespun though, with luxury mattresses and organic linens helping ease muscles tired from winter sports like skiing and snowshoeing, or from laps of the heated pool in summer. You get complimentary parking (and WiFi), but it’s just minutes’ walk from Lake Tahoe’s biggest draws: Heavenly Mountain Gondola, the Stateline casinos, and the shoreline. Whatever time you return, the CoffeePub will be open, with craft coffees or microbrews served 24-hours a day; but make sure you’re back in time for Friday night’s wine tastings with local vintners, followed by live acoustic music sessions.

The updated rooms looked amazing, we were in the back of the hotel that hadn't had renovations yet. Our door phob never worked so we constantly needed help getting in our room. Once in, it was clean and the bed was very comfy.

Was good for a short trip. Rustic building was not great, getting in and out of it was tricky. Breakfast was not very good. It worked out ok for our family. The room was big and the beds were comfortable.

Not as nice as you’d expect for the price, and no parking available when I arrived after long drive. Staff was unconcerned. Also, at reservation confirmed reservation for BBQ pit, then said no reservation for BBQ a few days before arrival when not possible to get another hotel.

The rooms are very basic, definitely not work the price charged for the room. The air condition would shut off in the middle of the night making the room very humid. There are vents in the bathroom and the sliding door pops off the hinge frequently. The rooms are very old and not worth the price charged. Find another hotel to stay. Sticking… Read more
