Hotel Becket

Heavenly, Lake Tahoe

The hotel

Part boutique hotel, part ‘upcycled’ lodge, 968 Park Hotel’s every bit as rustic as it is luxurious. Handmade furniture fills the guestrooms – some made from Douglas fir rescued from an old Nevada mine. Your bedding’s anything but homespun though, with luxury mattresses and organic linens helping ease muscles tired from winter sports like skiing and snowshoeing, or from laps of the heated pool in summer. You get complimentary parking (and WiFi), but it’s just minutes’ walk from Lake Tahoe’s biggest draws: Heavenly Mountain Gondola, the Stateline casinos, and the shoreline. Whatever time you return, the CoffeePub will be open, with craft coffees or microbrews served 24-hours a day; but make sure you’re back in time for Friday night’s wine tastings with local vintners, followed by live acoustic music sessions.

Please look at the photo , new paint n new furniture to cover a old old hotel . Water only dripping on faucet, hot water is milky color!!!!!! Wire running at the baseboard! Also the price is high! Also charge a resort fee and no resort facility. Also is not near the beach. The beach charge 15 dollars per person!

Pictures made it look way better than it really looked. Outside was very run down and dirty. Some rugs were torn apart. Seriously it was on par with a M*tel 6. Location was good but not the property. Would not recommend

The room was clean, the staff was courteous, and the food and entertainment at the restaurant was very good. In our haste to get over the pass in the snow storm we left valuable clothing in our room and they made sure they were returned to us.

Broken toilet, broken shower taps, poor water pressure, unpredictable hot/cold water, bed wooden furnishings that gave splinters, rolling bathroom door doesn't close, above bar with loud music past midnight, breakfast was pitiful, gross, restaurant dirty, no staff.

The Hotel Becket is very close to the Heavenly Gondola station and shops. The casinos just across the Stateline in Nevada are also an easy stroll away. It's very laid back in true Californian style. Free breakfast with a wide choice of food and a great restaurant for lunchtime and evening. Outside, gas fire pits mean you can sit outside however cold it is. There is enough free parking on site and the lobby has free coffee all day. There is an all-year round hot tub and a pool in summer. Book for mid-week or a whole week and it's great value for money - the prices are very keen but weekend skiers fill the place from Friday night and the room price on a Friday and Saturday can triple. Overall the place could do with some updating but the staff more than make up for it and so the Becket is a great place to stay. We will be going back. Read less
