Wifi did not work properly on my room, or in the lobby. There were cobwebs on the ceiling, on the fire sprinkler, on the curtains. There were pieces of paper on the bathroom ceiling. Ventilation in the bathroom did not work. Light switches had SO much dust and dirt. Windows had a lot of dirt. The sofa bed was in terrible condition. I had to put the mattress on the floor... did not work as the mattress was also in very poor condition. The door had scratches. The curtain was falling from its hooks. The elevator had very poor maintenance. The smoke detector was falling apart. I DID tell the front desk about these problems and all they said was "we'll look into it". It never happened. Never coming back to this hotel. It's a shame.... when it was the "EMBASSY SUITES", it had very good maintenance. Breakfast was expensive for what they offered. There were NO COVID protocols in this hotel. And using this excuse, they DID NOT have chambermaids daily. Read less

This hotel is just old and tired and calling it a "resort" is simply misleading. This hotel is just old and tired and calling it a "resort" is simply misleading. The only thing going for it is the rooms are big - they are real suites, bedroom has a door you can close, a large living/dining room, just missing a stove, there is a wet bar with small fridge (which freezes everything no matter the setting), a very old microwave, and safe - and probably haven't seen much renovation since its previous life as an embassy suites. All kinds of details are problematic - every chair has stains on them - if they can't keep the fabrics clean why not just replace them with plain wooden ones that won't stain? The window sheers have burn holes in them. The lightbulb in the bedside lamp hangs to one side as if it's going to fall off (but miraculously still works, just looks dangerous). Bathroom fixtures - the faucet in the tub is not fitted all the way in leaving a big gap in between, and hot water, non existent in the sink, goes on and off in the shower, mostly it's lukewarm. It's also just changed ownership last winter and instead of any improvements there's no more comp breakfast. Granted the old breakfast wasn't great but at least it provided convenience. Now they are charging $23 for something marginally better (and they still charge the ridiculous $35 resort fee without providing anything in return). The tiny pool and hot tub are indoors and utterly unappealing and easily overrun with lots of children. The hotel's big, with 400 rooms and meeting space so can accommodate large groups. Location is ok, you can walk a few blocks to shops and restaurants and a huge grocery store, and the 750 feet walk to the gondola sounds worse than it actually is. It's not a bad looking building from the outside, and the inside atrium setup can be charming, but don't expect anything remotely "resort" like if you choose to stay here. And beware that in case you have to check out a day early you will be charged a $75 penalty. Read less

This hotel is awful for the price. You might as well stay in a motel or in an airbnb for the price you will pay to stay here. There was mold and black stains in the bathroom, the carpet was gross, not enough sound proofing through the walls, so uncomfortable! The breakfast is gross and the added fees are ridiculous . I have nothing nice to say… Read more

I had read mixed reviews about this hotel and was not sure what to expect. Since we were doing a ski trip, this hotel location was perfect so we went ahead and booked. There was 3 dad's and 3 son's (age 17). We could not have been happier with this hotel and service. About 2 weeks ahead of time, I contacted hotel and asked to have our 3 rooms near each other, upon arrival they put us all right next to each other which worked out perfect as 2 were connecting. The rooms were in pretty good shape and like every other hotel during Covid, they did not have daily housekeeping service. I made a request for several items to be refilled and within about 5 minutes they were delivered. When we arrived the room was clean and everything was great (all 3 rooms). The breakfast was great as all 6 of us could get a quick filling breakfast and be on our way to the sloped. There was a pretty good variety and always had hot coffee. I hear it will no longer be free at a cost of $23.99 which might detour many from paying that much for a breakfast, I would likely pay about $15. Our son's had a couple pizza's from the restaurant and they said they were good. Us dad's enjoyed some drinks across the street and there are several restaurants / taverns within a short walking distance. The beds were fairly comfortable and rooms were pretty quiet. I was in room 258 just outside the elevators and really didn't hear much noise. Nice to have a separate family room from the bedroom (I believe this must have previously been an Embassy Suites hotel). We were taking the shuttle bus from Reno Airport and were not getting picked up until 2:45pm the day we left so we paid some additional money for a late checkout which worked out great for us as we skied until about 1:00pm and then came back to change and pack. Just prior to leaving we did leave our bags with the hotel bell staff. When the shuttle bus arrived I waited a minute for them to offer to help and when they didn't I grabbed my own bags and proceeded to the bus. Once I did that, one of the three offered to help others in our group. I would have paid them if they offered right away. I think one of the other dads got their bags carried out and tipped them. Overall I was very happy and would return if we decided to ski Lake Tahoe ski resorts again. Thank you. Read less

Don’t stay here. It’s run down and needs Major overhaul. It’s just gross. There is nothing positive I can say about my experience and I’m here for two more nights. Phone doesn’t work by bed. Bed is old. Carpet is disgusting. Furniture is from the 80s. Tub is old and stained. I think this hotel hasn’t been updated since the 80s. No daily maid… Read more
