Former Embassy Suites, generous rooms, large indoor pool with outdoor patios, basic gym, hot tub spa, afternoon happy hour. Included breakfast is very basic, rather un-noteworthy. Literally at the Nevada/California border, lots of restaurant and shopping options nearby.

From the moment I arrived I thought I was being fleeced. I am on a road trip across the States and had just arrived in California, my 10th State. Got out the car and went to get a trolley for my luggage to be told for the first time in 10 States that I wasn’t allowed to as the porter had to do that so that they stayed clean!! Of course, nothing to do with him wanting a tip? No self parking option either - another guy wanting a tip and I hadn’t even checked in yet! Then there is the supplementary resort fee but why that is due for a tired old place like this I don’t know Then I went to the bar for happy hour. After the barmaid eventually stopped talking to her friends she got me a glass of wine in a flimsy plastic tumbler. I asked why it wasn’t in a glass to be told we don’t use real glass for happy hours drinks. She eventually poured it in to a glass when I refused to pay. I think the staff have been trained not to smile. Finally saw a smile on the face of a chambermaid which was so welcome but that was the only smile I saw during my entire stay. I won’t be back!! This is a lovely hotel with a spectacular view and close to all of the downtown CA and NV attractions, and within walking distance to the Heavenly lift. However. I will never come here again as a result of valet-only parking. It is nothing short of a disaster! When it’s time to leave you can expect a 30-45 minute wait for them to find and get your… Read more

Line at parking valet was all backed up when we arrived. They charge 19 a night just as an fyi. Rooms not ready when we arrived. They did apologize and gave us a few drink coupons. Room seemed old and could benefit from some refresh. WiFi was very spotty and would have been nice to have usb ports. Breakfast was packed. Some were even standing eating their food. Food just ok. Eggs, potato, bacon and pancakes. Had some cereals and fruit. Pay extra 5 bucks for an omelet. Happy hour had some chips and pretzels and cheap drinks. Overall was ok, but probably not wowed enough to stay again with so many options in Tahoe.. I will say though The best part was the location. Read less

Organic garbage on the floor next to the pool. A resort fee at an old embassy suites. The worst valet parking I have ever seen. And the wifidid not work This was my third and last time at this hotel. The first two times, I thought were an anomaly because of the staff reaction to my comments. Clearly this hotel is a disaster area by design. They charge for valet parking in a parking garage that used to be a self parking garage. Then, you wait, on average, 25 minutes when checking out to get your car. You could literally walk to your car in 45 seconds. the manager's excuse for the valet parking over self parking is that if they let the guests Park themself they would get into an accident in the garage. I don't understand how the pool and hot tub makes it past the health inspectors. There is a thick, dark foam on the surface of the hot tub. anyone with any hot tub knowledge nose foam in a hot tub means that it is filthy. There are kids in this filthy hot tub taking the water into their mouth and spitting it out. No one manages the pool deck area. Despite signs to the contrary, there are guests with glass bottles at the pool deck. And the floor around the pool deck actually had organic garbage floating in little puddles of standing water. this is what they charge the $25 resort fee for, according to the front desk manager.
