First visit to Tahoe and while I realize there is a pandemic, this place is only in it for the money. We booked a balcony suite and the pictures and video of the room online looked pretty nice. The balcony was dirty with bottle caps and wrist bands - clearly it hadn't been touched. We re-sanitized our room. They change a resort fee of… Read more

The balcony was dirty with bottle caps and wrist bands - clearly it hadn't been touched. We re-sanitized our room. They change a resort fee of $37/night plus $27 valet parking. The only thing open is the pool - big disappointment. The breakfast in the morning is pathetic. Hard scrambled eggs and rubbery pancakes. The staff spend more time looking at their phone than doing their jobs. Some staff weren't even wearing masks. Whomever owns this place doesn't care. Beware. Read less

I had an issue with Travelocity/Expedia continuing to charge me even though the hotel had to cancel my reservation back in March due to the shutdown. I spoke with Adam Fountain, the front desk manager and he was incredibly helpful. He even took the time to write me a personal email stating that they did the cancellation and not myself. I wasn’t expecting such great service because I know the hotel is busy but he was really great and I appreciate everything he did. Its hard to find genuine service these days and Mr. Fountain deserves some recognition. If you have any issues I would definitely talk to him. I will be back. Thank you Read less

We've stayed here many times in the past and I've always given fair reviews in my eyes. We stayed here in the first week of August 2020. I had booked a good deal a couple months earlier for $99 per night. Though hesitant about whether or not appropriate precautions were being taken at the hotel, we had just come back from Tahoe a month earlier where we stayed somewhere else. We always dine at the Echo Restaurant inside the hotel and immediately you can tell they take the precautions seriously with low limits on number of guests staying in the hotel, all employees wearing masks and sanitizers everywhere. There wasn't much more you could ask for from a hotel. The rooms are cleaned and sealed with a tape prior to your entry. This is the least amount of people I've seen in the hotel over the years. The complimentary breakfast is picked up downstairs in 'to-go' containers and you take it back to your room...no dining. The pool is open and for the most part people kept their distance. The valet parking is $29 per night but its the same price at most of the larger hotels. The room was very clean and there's no house keeping during your stay unless you request it so no one else enters your room. There wasn't a 'complimentary' bottle of hand sanitizer in the room as the website indicates but most people have their own and there's plenty at each elevator. Most of Tahoe's stores had sanitizers as you enter and I'd say 80% of the customers wear masks. As you walk up and down the boulevard, you'll get a mix of people who wear masks walking or at the bars/restaurants. We figured we can only do what we can do for ourselves and not worry about the rest of the world...and maintain our distance. It was a good experience and thumbs up to the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel for all their efforts!!! Read less

The grounds and lobby are not the spotless clean that they used to be, but overall the property and rooms are adequately clean. Rooms are pricey for what you get, but you are right in the heart of downtown South Lake Tahoe, so you can walk to casinos and restaurants (and heavenly gondola). We were here during the covid-19 pandemic, and the resort was very relaxed on enforcing any kind of safety regulations. Mask requirements are posted on the lobby entrance, but MANY people were wandering around without one. Even the bus boy's mask was down around his chin, even in the elevator. Upon check-in, we were informed that the indoor pool was open! When my wife (a nurse) asked how they would be enforcing social distance in an indoor pool, the receptionist just shrugged. I would not mind coming back here for another stay, AFTER the pandemic has blown over. Read less

We had a wonderful time at Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel. The room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. We were originally given a room towards the back of the resort, but asked to be moved so that we could be closer to the pool for the kids. The front desk staff was very friendly, accommodating and immediately gave us another room without hesitation or question. Anytime we needed something, such as more towels, toilet paper, etc. a staff member appeared at our door within 15 minutes. The front desk staff was also very helpful when asked about stores or restaurants in the vicinity. Our first night we decided to try out the restaurant there on the resort called “The Echo“. We weren’t sure what to expect, especially since their menu seemed to have fewer items than I had viewed online. We sat outside on the patio to enjoy the cool breeze. Our server, “Margarita” was friendly & professional. She was also extremely knowledgeable of the menu & very helpful in offering recommendations for us to try. Let me just say that the food was absolutely delicious and definitely exceeded our expectations. Everything was great from the fried calamari appetizer, to our molten lava cake deserts and everything in between. Each dish that my family ordered tasted fresh & was flavorful. We ordered the echo Burger, fries, onion rings, chicken Alfredo pasta, chicken strips, quesadilla, and the street taco plates (I ordered 1 of each: chicken/Korean short rib tacos). We would recommend any one of these dishes. We liked it so much that we ordered takeout again on our last night at the resort. The food was very well prepared and the service was excellent! The Echo is a must try during your stay! Each morning we took advantage of the complimentary buffet breakfast on the second floor. The food was also well prepared, tasted good and very filling. (fruit, yogurt, pancakes, eggs, bacon, biscuit. Coffee or choice of juice. Our overall experience was very good and we will definitely be returning for our next Tahoe family get away. Read less
