I have stayed at the Landing in the past with some friends, but haven't been to South Lake in a while. I have been staying at the Ritz in North Lake more frequently. I get some good deals with Marriot Bonvoy and appreciate a higher-end stay. The latter reason is why I stay at the Landing when I am in South Lake. The larger hotels in South Lake are not as nice -- mostly casino-hotels that are really worn. The Timber Lodge is nice, but isn't pet-friendly. But I wouldn't really consider the Timber Lodge anyway -- the Landing is a better-appointed hotel, with better service. It is a really great boutique option if you are looking for a place that pays attention to the details and has a refined look and feel. Also, and I say this a lot, what really separates a good hotel and a great hotel is the service. You want to drop your bags and know someone else is going to put in the effort to make things easier for you. Beau does that. I had issues with my booking and had made some poor planning decisions, Beau didn't just make those problems go away, but he did it with the utmost professionalism and humor. He was really friendly and I really appreciated it. That makes the difference. Read less

Came in on Saturday afternoon and spoke with Beau. He set me up with a nice room on the ground floor with a fire pit. I had inquired about rates and he assured me that he would give me a better rate for Sunday night, which I initially had not planned on... He stated the rate for Sunday would be better than Saturday's... Just got the bill and no… Read more

He stated the rate for Sunday would be better than Saturday's... Just got the bill and no such savings were realized as promised. 2nd night was horrible. No sleep due to noisy neighbors partying until around 3:30AM!!! Just over $700 for 2 nights? Not worth it. Read less

I booked this property on Wednesday for a Friday check in for one night. Unfortunately, they cancelled my reservation at noon the day of check in! They provided ZERO recourse, other than saying they’d refund my prepaid room. Absolutely ridiculous. I was already in Lake Tahoe after driving 5 hours to get there and then was faced with a sold out town due to high season skiing. I can’t believe a hotel would treat guests like this. I used to work in hospitality and if a hotel ever has to cancel on someone, it’s customary to “walk” them to a comparable room at a minimum! Do not book here unless you want to risk getting bailed on last minute. Read less

I am extremely picky about where I stay, and this beauty was well worth the extra paid. The room was nice and bathroom was clean, with the heated floor and toilet being a nice touch. We had somewhat of view of the lake from our balcony, everyone we encountered was nice, and it was quiet at night. Having the shuttle available within two miles was a very nice touch as we used it often. If I had one complaint it would be that the water in the shower never really got hot like the sink water. I love a hot shower, not lukewarm. Yes paying the resort fee was annoying when we didn’t use any other facilities, however we knew beforehand. We would not hesitate to come back. Read less

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a few days a couple weeks ago. As we were checking in they asked us if we would like to upgrade to a lake view for $50 a night. We said yes and I am SO HAPPY we did! The room was fantastic!! Heated floors in the bathroom, heated toilet seat, fireplace in bedroom and my boyfriends favorite were the bath robes lol. We had a little deck that looked out to the lake. We got amazing sunsets! The concierge were very helpful every time we called. They had a shuttle that would drive us anywhere we wanted, as long as it was with in 2 miles. Everything you need is in South Lake. There isn't a lot of public parking so we took the shuttle everywhere. LOVED this place and will absolutely stay here again! Read less
