From our perspective this is not close to a 41/2 star hotel. Maybe 3 stars. Our room and bathroom were clean but the elevator and hallways not so much. Not sure what they were going for in the decor department. Rustic? Eclectic? In the bathroom they installed heated toilet seats which is good in theory but in reality they are too small for the toilet, hard to sit on and seat kept falling down. It seemed as if someone made a purchase, it didn't work but went ahead and installed them anyway. Sadly cannot recommend the hotel restaurant, ate three expensive meals and all three were mediocre at best. Will not be back. Read less

This trip was a spoil from my man for an Anniversary. A weekend away (2 nights - Sat and Sunday) with our precious dogs. VERY EXPENSIVE spoil and I was looking forward to the experience. We got there early afternoon and were allowed to book in an hour early as our room was ready. Got champagne and a very friendly valet who delivered our bags to our room. The room was on the second floor. The walkway was very dirty with obvious staining and room service trays remained on the floor throughout the weekend. The room was comfortable- bed was good but the carpet was very stained, the screen door was ripped on the balcony, and the dressing-gowns had a great plug of dog hair on them. Towels and loo paper were scratchy...(for $1000+?) Went to the restaurant attached to the Resort that evening without a reservation. We were told by an unhelpful Maitre De that they were fully booked but would see about squeezing us in....and boy did they squeeze us... my man is 6 foot 2 and we sat at a little table barely bigger than a side table. Our waitron was very friendly, poured our wine beautifully and then disappeared never to be seen again.... We were outside and when the sun fell it got cold...we had to hijack someone else’s waitron to light our gas fire- The very booked restaurant remained partially full the whole evening and many empty tables leered at us crouched in our baby chairs....but the food was delicious. A double couch in a prized spot remained empty the entire night- Whilst I understand that they were hoping to fill it, we were not moved later on to a more comfortable spot. Having got a heads up re booking, we booked at the same restaurant for the next night. We arrived on time and were greeted by the same unfriendly, apparently very busy Maitre De who barely made eye contact with us and started to tell us he was very booked up but would ...we told him we have a booking...He asked us to wait a minute and he would seat us- they were clearing a table for us. We stood....and then I realized I had forgotten my phone in my room. I walked back to the hotel room, collected my phone and walked back...We were still standing waiting.... A party of 3 who arrived 5 mins after us were seated. We looked at each other... I checked the outside and there were several open tables and that big ass couch....another 5 mins and I had enough, and informed him we were no longer going to wait for a table.... I was disappointed!! We did pop into the hot tub to sooth jangled nerves and it was delightful! The resort is very good for people wanting to holiday with their precious pets. The location is gorgeous. The hotel itself really needs attention to detail. Because it is a pet friendly resort it needs more cleaning than usual. We paid $150 for a Yorkie and a Chihuahua to sleep in our room for 2 nights. Maybe that money could be used to steam clean the carpet for the next guest? There were many sundry fees which were also annoying. (See attached bill) All in all a very beautiful location with lots of potential but it fell short of our expectations. Read less

Jimmy's was a nice spot to grab breakfast and they had a super friendly bartender at night..(whish I knew his name because he was above average). Valet guys were super friendly and we took advantage of free shuttle service. The area has many bars and restaurants to walk to and loved the beach across the road. We booked a couples massage in the spa and were pleased with our massage therapists. My only negative was cheap bathrobes in the room. They were a cheap scratchy fabric, not cotton terry cloth that I prefer. Read less

I cannot believe how disappointing this place was for us. We arrived on a Sunday after flying into and driving from sfo. We stayed Sunday Night at Harrahs because our room at the Landing wasn’t available until Monday. On Monday, around 12:30, we walked down to the Landing and asked if we could bring our bags and car down- they said yes. So we did. The woman behind the desk said our room wasn’t ready ( we knew it wouldn’t be) but said she would call as soon as it was. The valet said to leave the bags in the car and they will put them in the room as soon as it was ready. We went up into town and bummed around. At 5 pm we still hadn’t received a call so I called there. A gentleman said the room was ready so we walked down. A woman in front of us was complaining that someone was to call her when her room was ready and no one did so apparently a common issue. His response to her was “ we are very busy” That is not a response I would expect from a “fine boutique hotel” Perhaps an apology? Anyhow, it was our turn and the front desk man gave us our keys and the valet got the bags and showed us to our room. Our bags weren’t placed in the room as stated earlier. The front desk employees are the first glimpse of how you’re going to be received and treated- they failed. If this were my place I would def invest in some front desk training. No one offered us champagne as we saw others having at check in. No one was friendly nor did they ask if we had any questions. The valet showed us some things about the room- said there’s this and that in the bathroom but didn’t say how to use anything. When we tried to turn on the extras in the bathroom nothing worked- like the steam and sauna- no power. Heated towel bar had no power either. We didn’t call about this because it really wasn’t a big deal not to have them. He also said that this is a resort so feel free to walk around in your robe. Well the robes were macrame type and you can’t walk around in them without showing something! And this doesn’t qualify for a resort- the hallways are dark and dingy- nothing welcoming at all! Call me crazy but i am a clean fanatic which is why I always choose to stay in high end hotels. I wipe down all light switches and door handles or anything like that. Sad to say the Clorox wipes were filthy dirty after I wiped down our room. On the balcony the screen was ripped, the cushion on the chaise had holes, there was food caked on the tables. I had to clean it all. I can’t imagine those tables have been cleaned in this decade. The carpets were stained and the room had a smell of gasoline- like someone sat in the chair after using a lawnmower. We paid for a room with a view of the lake and the view was very nice- the lake is gorgeous! However, before you book this room please realize the lake has a beach which is public. I pictured us sitting on the balcony relaxing in peace and quiet. Not so. Very noisy- cars coming and going, people on the beach all morning and day, kids screaming etc. No peace and quiet at all. And the restaurant was right next to us so could hear everyone dining as well. I would not recommend getting this room if you are getting away for peace and quiet. The valets were very nice and friendly as was the shuttle man who ran us to town and the marina. Also the bartender at Jimmys was very nice and friendly Checking out the front desk never once asked how our stay was. She just told us how much we owed. I’m very disappointed in our stay and how much it cost us. Unless they get their front desk people some customer service lessons and remodel the rooms , I cannot recommend this hotel. Read less
