Hence they are unbearably hot. There is no air flow so even putting a fan in the window that barely opens doesn’t help. The front desk said that once it cools off at night the room will be fine. Outside temp at night was 50 and it had to be 77-80 in the room at 3am. The amenities are nothing to write home about either. Our view is looking out at a concrete shuffle board and is horrible. Lastly they do have free WIFI but the speed is only 512KB NOT EVEN 1 MB. So it took forever to download a web page. Hence we had to pay $13 for WiFi. We got a great rate of $165 but they also charge you $25 resort fee which is normal for resorts but that the amenities aren’t worth it as they are very run down. . I would rather pay more to be comfortable and have AC. On the positive side they do have a shuttle into town so you don’t have to drive or pay for parking. I would think in the winter time This place would be ok as it is close to a lift and you obviously don’t need AC. However be warned again that the single rooms are very small and would difficult to find a spot to put all of your clothes. Read less

We are a family from louisiana who came to lake tahoe for a family wedding. We brought many of our extended family and chose to stay at the Ridge at Tahoe, which was a huge mistake. We stayed during July and the rooms were so hot to the point of passing out from the heat. The many different condos for the resort are facing the sun & are blocked by mountains so the wind flow into rooms is horrible. We stayed on the third floor & our room was very hot even after using two port o cools which they give you that act as fans. Multiple amenities at the resort were being repaired on for our whole stay & seemed to not be working for a while such as multiple hot tubs. The pools are claimed to be heated and are not. The rooms are not nice at all, especially for the price that you have to pay for them. They are very small & we had multiple problems with the battery on our lock dying, causing us to be locked out of our room for hours at a time. We understand there is no air in the rooms but the resort is blocked by many mountains that their is very little air flow able to come through the windows. The staff was very rude when we tried to get another room for our family member who paid for a bigger room than she was given. The front desk is always preoccupied & never available to help & the store in the main resort building is overpriced greatly. It was a beautiful place for a wedding but the resort itself is very nonfunctional & not at all what you should be getting out of a resort for the outrageous price you have to pay. We stayed in the plaza which is one of the many condos in the resort & our family stayed at others like the terrace and the towers that were equally as disappointing. Please put your money to something more worth it aa far as functional and comfortable. Read less

We just checked out five days early, because we could not stand another minute here. During checkout, the front desk staff did not even ask how our stay was, which makes me question how much this resort values hospitality. We will not stay here or recommend this resort to anyone for the following reasons: 1. Constant sales pitching: Over the course of one day, we were solicited three times by the timeshare sales team in an effort to sell us another timeshare. My husband is in the military, I hardly have time with him as it is. We highly value our free time because we have so little of it. The last thing I want to do on my vacation is be solicited by another salesman. 2. Room temperature: Our room was steaming hot. We’re from Nevada, so we’re used to the heat, but our room temperature was unacceptable. The room came with a large swamp “cooling” unit that we were instructed to place upon the windowsill after filling with water and ice. The window only cracked a couple inches. However, this did not matter, as the cooling unit only blew warm air in the first place. It was incredibly loud. We left it running all night and all day, and the room only got hotter. 3. Smell: It’s a shame this place is not dog friendly, because it smells like an animal anyway. With a lack of centralized airflow, the resort has a strong mildew scent. 4. Bar and restaurant: Both bar and restaurant did not live up to my expectations for a resort of this size. There were no real windows or view, and it seems as if both venues were constructed as an afterthought. It would be nice to have a veranda or balcony to sip a drink. 5. Noise: The walls are paper thin. On top of not being able to sleep due to the heat in our room, our neighbors had three small children who screamed from 5:30-10:30am. This is understandable as it is in children’s nature. However, we made a call to security to ask if they could remind our neighbors to be a little more quiet and respectful. Security said they would handle it, but no attempts were made. We know this to be true, because we could hear conversations clearly and did not observe any knock on their door or any phone ringing. In summary, this resort is either going under or does not care enough to invest in their property. The facilities were extremely tired and dated. It is clear that The Ridge Tahoe relies heavily on the surrounding beauty of the area to make up for its shortcomings. Read less
