If you want to stay somewhere that from the time you walk into the time you leave your breath is taken away. The service is a wow factor, the rooms are amazing, it is just a dream that came thru when we stayed there.

3 night stay after a hectic 4th in South Lake Tahoe . Was happy to retreat up the mountain and away from the crowds for a a few nights. Hotel staff in advance and on property could not have been more accommodating. We experienced nothing but outstanding service particularly in the club lounge w Mario and his team. Never had to ask only offered anything one might need to really relax and feel pampered. The highlight of our stay was our last day at the lake club. Wow ! Beautiful, inclusive , exclusive. Great bunch of guys working hard to meet your every need . Easy shuttle, included kayaks and a hot tub on the lake. Donnie was great at the grill all day and you could really want for nothing. 7 hours flew by all too fast. Do it well worth the $$! Read less

We've not had a few stays at this property in the summer time. The rooms are nice and has a very tahoe lodge feel to it. I really enjoyed working out in the gym and enjoying some of the outdoor activites around the resort (pool, games, etc). Being Platinum Eite doesnt get much except a thank you for being Elite when you check in. I know its summer time, but some of the staff didnt seem all that knowledgeable . What really irked our family was that the concierge told us that the BBQ restaurant was open till 4 that day. We thought we would head out to town to have some fun and return for a late lunch / early dinner at the bbq place. We rushed back to get there by 3:30 only to find that the restaurant was already closed. When we asked the front desk, they told us that the restaurant closes by 3:00 on Sundays. When we went to the pool to get an alternate meal, they told us that it was never open that day. Seems like the entire staff was very confused. The food at the club level also seems hit or miss to me. Breakfast and Lunch service seem pretty spot on. I feel like the hor doerve service falls short for me compared to other club levels. Service as always is great in the club level though. Staff is super friendly and accomodating. When I compare this property to other Rtiz Carltons, I find this property to be a bit underwhelming. Perhaps its the time of year, since its probably much busier in the winter vs the summer. Tahoe in general is less expensive for this time of year, so it really makes me question wether or Im getting what I paid for at this property. Read less

This property could be a home run, be they’re missing the mark. We just returned. Beautiful facility and natural surroundings. The price point is as high you would/should expect from a Ritz Carlton. The problem? They are incredibly UNDERSTAFFED. The employees are all very professional, but there just is not enough staff to provide the service one expects. Examples? 20 minute wait for a glass of wine/cocktail. Sundries store hours? Only open 10-5 (that’s right, if you needed a minor item after 5 pm there is no place on the property to buy it). Dining options? The Coffee/quick-grab location is open only 7am - 11am daily. Yes- it closes at 11am! You’re a solid 20 minute drive to the lake (the seclusion is also part of the beauty). But, then the resort needs to provide adequate amenities on-site for your guests! Easy fixes if ownership has the ability to execute. I don’t mind paying if I they deliver the experience- they did not fully deliver unfortunately. I’ll be back to Tahoe soon, but not here unless changes are made. Read less

We left a voice mail for the Executive Assistant, sent an email directly to the GM, and left a message for the Manager on Duty. No one could even be bother to respond. Even if it is a situation that cannot be solved, acknowledgement goes a long way! I didn't realize that is the new level of service to expect from the Ladies and Gentlemen of the Ritz Carlton. Disappointing for any guest, but especially so as a Platinum Elite Member. Read less
