Park City Peaks Hotel

Park City, Utah

The hotel

This is a popular well-priced hotel that goes out of its way to keep its guests returning. The welcoming lobby with its crackling stone fireplace is the first thing that greets you as you walk into the hotel, and it makes you feel instantly at home. Then you’re shown to your cosy bedroom, attractively decorated in neutral creams and golds and you feel even better. By the time you’ve had a drink and a chat with one of the friendly locals in the relaxed sports bar you’ll probably never want to leave! And that’s before you’ve taken a dip in the warm, indoor/outdoor pool or felt the hot tub’s bubbles work their magic on your exhausted leg muscles after a day exploring the three different ski resorts that the local free shuttle will take you to. As if this wasn’t enough, the hotel throws in a complimentary breakfast every morning to set you on your way to the slopes, and for days off from the slopes you can enjoy a wander around historic Main St, dropped off free by the hotel! No wonder this place is so popular!

A great efficient & friendly ski shop on the premises. Sounds good -So what is the bad? Noise.!!!! You hear any talking in the hallway near your room, you hear when anybody nearby running water/shower on or flushes. You can cover up these noises by using your heater/air unit. We however had a big noise problem on our fourth night with the guests next door. They came in at 2 a.m. very loud and partying it up. We gave them the benefit of the doubt that the screaming fun wouldn’t last. At 2:30 am we saw no end in sight so called the front desk who assured us they would take action. At about 3 a.m., I heard someone across the hall opening their door and yelling out “what kind of hotel is this” and slammed their door. Another half hour later, we again called the front desk and they said they would call the room again. The noisey party went on non-stop til 6 a.m. when they either passed out or left. Now up and tortured from 2 a.m. to 6 kinda ruined our last ski day. When checking out, we asked to talk to the manager about the incident whose surprising blasé attitude and apathetic stance had only to say – “well they are gone now “. There was no - so sorry, no explanation, no apologies. We can only wish this happens to her someday on her vacation. See how you like it when the manager just shrugs. Read less

The shuttle to and from Park City main street was a little confusing but ultimately was helpful to avoid an Uber or parking bill. The bus route goes right outside the hotel too. Read less

This is the second visit to Peaks. I’ll be back, it’s a comfortable clean place. Only complaints are the lousy “free breakfast “ and late night noise in the halls. C’mon, for nearly $300/night you can do better than dehydrated watery eggs! ( see a Holiday inn express...)And maybe some signs in the halls stating “quiet hours 10pm-7am please be… Read more
