Sheraton Anchorage

Anchorage, Alaska

The hotel

There’s no mistaking your setting when you stay at Sheraton Anchorage Hotel & Spa — it embraces everything magical about the Alaskan wilderness and everything exciting about downtown Anchorage, with attractions like Anchorage Museum and 5th Avenue Mall just blocks away. It’s like staying in a glamourous museum, with native Alaskan art giving you a real insight into local life at every turn. And, at the heart of it all, the hotel’s spectacular ‘Million Dollar Staircase’ is dressed in marble and jade, and frames a panel telling the Eskimo legend of an eagle that flew a native hunter from the Earth to the moon. You don’t have to fly far for food though, with JADE open for breakfast treats like Alaskan King Crab Benedict, Ptarmigan Lounge serving cocktails and bar bites, a Starbucks® kiosk, and a 24-hour ‘pantry’ for late-night munchies.

The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. I had a very nice room, lots of space and great views. I have stayed at a lot of hotels in the area and I am announcing This is my new "when I visit anchorage hotel". I could not have had a better stay. K. Smith

Great place to stay that is not quite in the hustle and bustle of the downtown core. Newly remolded and it is the most interesting decor in its combination to be authentic to Alaska. Would stay there again. Read less

Overall we had a decent stay. The gym was nice, and staff were friendly. I agree with others that the nearby area is a little sketchy at night. The rooms are a little dated but not bad for a Sheraton. Overall a good property.

This hotel is outdated. Staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite and comfortable, bed is cozy. Breakfast buffet is terrible for $21. My husband stays in this hotel for five to ten days almost every month. He loves the staff and the hotel. I visited Anchorage with him twice this year and had the opportunity to certify his claim. We travel a lot and stay in different hotels but I must say that this one is one of the best hotels in terms of comfort, accessibility, and service. Everyone around here is very friendly, especially in the restaurant. Also, this is the only hotel in Anchorage that has covered parking garage, so convenient during winter. Read less
