Westmark Anchorage Hotel

Anchorage, Alaska

The hotel

When it’s all about the destination, a stay at Westmark Anchorage Hotel delivers. Anchored in downtown, it’s right by the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, and a simple stroll from 5th Avenue Mall and Anchorage Museum. But it’s not just the ‘nearby’ sights you get to enjoy when you stay here — every guestroom has a private balcony with views either down to the buzzing city scene or out to the Chugach Mountains or Cook Inlet. The tour desk is open all summer to set you up with action-packed adventures like flight-seeing over glaciers and cruising along fjords, or taking more gentle trolley tours around Anchorage. Of course, it’s not just about what’s outside, so inside you get complimentary WiFi access, a gym, Alaskan dining — think ‘reindeer burgers’ — at Solstice Bar & Grill, and pastries and Starbucks® at the espresso bar.

This is the Holland America hotel in Anchorage. The hotel is very busy with bus loads of tourists arriving or leaving every day. The hotel is a little older and a bit dated, but otherwise absolutely fine. Our room was quite large with a small balcony onto the street. The hotel is a little older and a bit dated, but otherwise absolutely fine. Our room was quite large with a small balcony onto the street. The location is very good with easy access to the main attractions of Anchorage. Read less

No safe in the room and when carrying a passport for your future cruise with Holland I would think they would have them installed so one can go out and feel secure with their… Read more

Holland America, a premier cruise line operates this hotel. It was clean but grim. The patio doors didn’t shut properly so they installed a chain lock. The restaurant was expensive and not very good. I was disappointed after a week of luxury.

The rooms were great and the staff was awesome! I would 100% recommend. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms in great condition and fully equipped. We had a wonderful rest - nothing more you could ask for!

We only stayed 1-night on our Holland America Alaska Land tour and found the hotel dated, but the room clean and comfortable. No microwave or refrigerator. Only a couple blocks walk to lots of eateries, delis, and restaurants in the area and downtown. Try a reindeer dog from any of the numerous street carts downtown. If there on a Sunday… Read more

Only a couple blocks walk to lots of eateries, delis, and restaurants in the area and downtown. Try a reindeer dog from any of the numerous street carts downtown. If there on a Sunday morning visit the local Sunday Farmers Market for food, crafts, souvenirs. There’s a photo tent where you can dress in a variety of Alaskan fur coats along with a couple of sled dogs. Too bad we weren’t in Anchorage long enough make use of the coupon book we received from the Trolley Tour. Read less
