The best part of this visit was being able to stay at the National Park. The room was average. Beds were comfortable. Our toilet was stopped up when we arrived and the main room light was burnt out. From check in, check out, cleaning staff: phenomenal service and information. Don’t remember name of man who checked me in on 7/24 to room 7062, but service great, funny , professional, and explained everything very well. I liked staying here better than the Kachina because it was more wooded, left foot and car traffic, closer to Marketplace, and the room was just as nice (if not nicer in some ways). Windows had quality pull down shades. AC was kicking. Mini fridge. No microwave. Bed super comfy. Rooms are soooo quiet. Concrete walls. Some parts of bathroom were older (toilet seat, shower).....but all was clean and in good repair. Every other thing in that room from flooring, furniture, bedding, window shades: all brand spanking new and fresh. Plenty of USB ports and outlets on lamps throughout room. Shuttles weren’t running due to Covid, but there is shuttle stop in front. Also due to Covid and less ppl: easier to just drive and park to various trailheads as desired. Shoutout to the shift manager (hotel manager?) who checked me out on Sunday 7/26. I had to be flown out of canyon bottom due to foot injury. Wasn’t back to room until 1.5 hours after checkout. They were awesome and didn’t charge me for an extra day. I didn’t thank them properly at the time. Was exhausted and frazzled. HUGE shoutout to Humberto with housekeeping. He was several rooms away cleaning. He saw me limping while loading belongings into car and *ran* over to help me. Totally not in his job description, nor expected. I wish I’d had cash to tip him. I hope he sees this. I really appreciated his kindness and assistance. Room was less than $160 online with some discount/promo they had running (Covid?). I’d stay here again. Only hotel on South Rim not run by different ownership than all other south Rim hotels. I’ll tell you: service was better than what I got at El Tovar and Kachina lodge. Room was more than equivalent to Kachina but $100 cheaper than room without a rim view anyways. Read less

Clean and comfortable. I went during Covid thinking the worst but it’s incredible! Clean and comfortable lodges within 15 minutes walking to everything or just go by car for an easier time. The market place is right next door so you can buy any food you want. The service was exceptional with knowledgeable staff (shout out to Olle for making me… Read more

The market place is right next door so you can buy any food you want. The service was exceptional with knowledgeable staff (shout out to Olle for making me laugh) and very friendly. Personally I stayed in the West lodges as their cheaper and literally the only difference between East and West lodges is the East is two floors with kitchen. Also there’s only one restaurant who delivers: Bonita Plaza (also exceptional). Just such a good job! FYI if you Book your stay online its less than $150 per night. Read less

Stayed here for one night while touring the Grand Canyon. Good sized, comfortable rooms and a comfy bed! Just what you need after a long day touring. Eateries are not far, a short drive to the village area. Would stay again if visiting the Canyon.

We suggest eating at steak place outside of park for better meal. Reception desk not overly helpful. Greatest thing about room was you can walk across street and in about 5 minutes, see the Grand Canyon! PLEASE NOTE: The East Entrance gate is locked and the Desert View Watchtower area is also CLOSED because of COVID-19 concerns. You must use the South Entrance near the town of Tusayan to enter and exit the park. Yavapai Lodge will not tell you this in advance. There is a sign posted at the turn to the East gate but it can easily be missed because it alternates flashes with COVID-19 warnings. If you travel all the way to the East entrance gate, note that it is a 3.5 hour drive to the only open entrance (South). Read less
