Palomar Phoenix CityScape a Kimpton Hotel

Phoenix, Arizona

The hotel

Anything but ‘spit and sawdust’, Palomar Phoenix CityScape is far from the city’s Wild West origins – in fact, it’s a byword for boutique. Each floor opens up a new luxury. Downstairs, your hosts greet you with complimentary hot drinks each morning, and a wine hour each night. The second floor gastropub, Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails, has a menu pairing small seasonal plates, ideal for sharing, with original cocktails and carefully curated wines and beers. And the third floor rooftop space gives you a stunning pool, a seriously smart lounge bar, and views over downtown Phoenix. When you’re ready to step out and explore it, you’re perfectly positioned in CityScape, the hotspot for all that’s happening in the city, and by EŌS Fitness, where you get free entry.

We came into town for a Black Keys concert at the Talking Stick Arena. Walking straight to the concert saved us the traffic headache. Everyone was very helpful. Jennifer and Sierra checked in on us through text which was dope. Lamar was a great host on both nights as well!

My boss booked me and my husband a two night stay here as a wedding gift after our wedding night. The valet waived the parking fee when we pulled up as a way of saying thanks for staying here. When checking in, I gave my credit card for what I thought was incidentals. When we got to our suite there was champagne, dessert, and a sweet card from the hotel congratulating us on our marriage. Unfortunately, there was a knock on our door the next day from hotel staff asking if we had a late check out. I informed her we had a two night stay. Shortly after, the front desk called asking if we wanted to extend our stay for a second night. I explained to the front desk that my boss had said it was for two nights. But we quickly packed up and checked out before ever enjoying any of the hotel amenities. They put my receipt in an envelope and we left. Later that day, I checked the receipt and noticed they had charged the night to my card. I called the hotel and they said they had no other card on file and a credit card authorization form would have been filled out from my boss. I called my boss after that to let her know I was charged and to make sure she wasn't charged as well. She was SHOCKED to find out we were no longer at the hotel and had been asked to check out since she had booked it for two nights. She also had filled out and sent in the credit card authorization form so that we could relax and enjoy our stay with no worries. She said that the front desk had reversed the charge on my card. It's been a week and I am still waiting for the charges to be reversed on my bank account. It's too bad that our stay was cut short with no remorse from the hotel and on our staycation honeymoon. Great hotel with very friendly staff. Close to everything needed and perfect location if attending a conference at the Conference Centre which is a few blocks away. Only downside is no coffee making facilities in the room which is a killer for the first few days of jet lag!

This was one of the most awesome stays ever, even if just for one night. We were having both bad and good events, as it was near our anniversary (lots of years) as well as us having to come to Phoenix to visit an uncle in hospice. This hotel stay was just meant to be a stress reliever, a place to rest before leaving out of Phoenix early the next morning. The hotel and staff were awesome, as we were upgraded to a much better room (I hesitate to say how much better, as we were gobsmacked and I wouldn't want anyone to assume they should get the same), and a complimentary bottle of champagne also arrived. Thank you Kimpton Palomar, for helping emphasize the good, while recognizing the bad. You couldn't have done better. Read less

One of my favorite places to stay in Phoenix. Great hotel. Great location. Friendly staff. Close to everything downtown. Cool rooftop pool and bar. Blue Hound restaurant is also great. What more can I say?
