W Scottsdale

Scottsdale, Arizona

The hotel

Radically different to its neighbours, W Scottsdale taps into the lively undercurrent of its trendy Entertainment District setting – with features and bars that make it cool and hot in equal measure. On the city’s ‘IT list’, the difference is discernible as soon as you step inside (just look up and you’ll spy the WET Pool through oversized portholes). Head upstairs and the WET Deck welcomes you with the outdoor pool with underwater lighting and music, overstuffed loungers and private cabanas, and weekend pool parties with live DJs. The party continues downstairs, with the lobby space transformed into an open ‘Living Room’ featuring stylish furniture, live music sessions, and a party atmosphere until the wee hours. And, when bed finally beckons, it’s the hotel’s signature W Bed, in a guestroom with sliding floor-to-ceiling windows and a WHATEVER/WHENEVER® Concierge service.

If you want to get some decent sleep, see if an interior room helps minimize the outside noise. My room is on the second floor with the windows facing the street/East. If you want to get some decent sleep, see if an interior room helps minimize the outside noise. My room is on the second floor with the windows facing the street/East. As I write this review at midnight Wednesday/Thursday during the second night of my stay here, there is music pumping from a nearby establishment. It is the busy season with spring training, spring break, snow birds, etc., but I wish there was better sound proofing for a decent night’s sleep. I understand you can’t control your neighbors. The room itself is on the smaller side but comfortable and has the usual amenities you’d expect. Read less

The check in at the hotel was easy and the concierge assisted with tours and trips as needed. The rooms are cool and the spa suite was spacious. The hotel is VERY loud at most times so if you’re looking for peace and quiet then this isn’t the hotel for you. It’s a very young and energetic vibe as most days there are pool parties all day long and another in the evening. The lobby also serve as a bar/club with live music at night. It’s centrally located. You’re a few blocks from old town and a few blocks from the “waterfront” area. Great restaurants nearby and cool clubs for day parties as well. Would stay here again. Read less

The room was small, but fine. Service at the pool was awful. The day after we checked out we received a $28 minibar charge. Never even touched it. We are locals so we would just bring our own supplies. Called twice and left an email. Still not resolved.

Stayed here for work and it was awesome! Thank you to Elisa at the front desk for being so welcoming! Was upgraded to a room that was mind blowing in size. I love the W’s toiletries, too. Such high quality.
